#1-Her past

Today, me and Hajjar, we're going to hunt for our people. It's the Chef's turn to hunt and since I'm his mate, I have the privilege to go with him alone. It's not often that we can be together and alone since he is who he is. He's always needed. That's why I'm so happy to go with him. It's going to be four pleasant days, I'm sure of it.

"There you are, my angel of the night, are you ready to go?" I hear Hajjar ask me.

I don't answer him right away, because all I want to do now is kiss Hajjar and I just do that. I can feel his hunger for me in his kiss, but I know right now it's not the time for this and so I stop the kiss and I bring my mouth to his ear.

"My love, we will have time for this later. What are you going to tell to the childrens that they're looking at you kissing me like that." I say to him as i tease him.

Hajjar looks around and sees all the childrens of the clan who surrounded us while we kissed. The children made all kinds of faces.

Hajjar smirks at me and then he leans toward them while having the most serious expression as he roars at them. They all run in a different direction except one.

"Kaya aren't you afraid of our mean Chef?" She's the daughter of my best friend Sabi.

"No, the one I'm afraid of is Morfus. He's the one that have the meanest face around here." She answers me.

Me and Hajjar look at each other and burst in a laugh. It's true of what she said. He was, is still so serious. It's rare to see him smile.

"Go find your mother before she wonders where you are".

"Can I come with you?" She asks to Hajjar.

"Not yet little cub." Hajjar answers her as he rubs her hair at the same time.

She looks at him and knows that this time he's serious and so she leaves to find her mother.

"It's time to go my angel." Hajjard informs me. He takes my hand, brings it to his mouth and kisses my palm.

Me and Hajjar, we're walking towards the exit of our land but before taking another step, he stops to speak to his little brother.

"Don't get too used to it Morfus. We'll be back in four days." Said Hajjar to his brother when he saw him sitting on his throne.

"I count the days until you return and when you do, this chair is all yours big brother."

Hajjar knows that it isn't Morfus cup of tea to lead. It's the reason why Hajjar doesn't mind to see Morfus sitting on it when he isn't around to watch over our people.

After saying goodbye, it took us two days to finally get here. We walk deep in the forest and I feel that someone is watching us. I look around and see nothing. If someone is really there, I don't see anything. Whoever it is, he or she is in a good hideout.

Something feels wrong, I can't seems to open my eyes. I remember Hajjar and I were arguing over something but I can't quite seems remember very well about what it was and suddenly I felt myself falling alwhile Hajjar shouted my name.

Come on, wake up, wake up, WAKE UP! I screamed in my head. Finally my body begins to listen.

"Cough! Cough! Cough!" When I'm done catching my breath, I manage to get up.

I'm starting to look around, but where am I? I have never seen this place before and most importantly where the heck is Hajjar?

I'm starting to look around, but where am I? I have never seen this place before and most importantly where the heck is Hajjar? Hajjar, Hajjar, HAJJAR!" No, no, no. Don't tell me I lost him. Don't tell me I'm lodt. But where can I be? Okay, okay, okay, I know, I'm going to take three deep breaths to calm myself so I can think clearly.

The more I think about what happened, the clearer it becomes. Me and Hajjar, we were close by a waterfall when we were arguing and some how I slipped and found myself in it and that's how I ended up here. But where is here?

It's been days now, I search everywhere in these premises. it is surrounded by water and has no way out, I'm stuck here.

When this revelation hit me, it hit me hard. I let my body sit on the sand and thought to myself that I would never see him again.

"I'm going to see him again. I'm going to see him again. I'm going to see him again." I whisper to myself again and again and again as I bring my hands at each side of my face.

"All alone. You are all alone and nowhere to go." I hear a voice whispering somewhere

next to me.

I don't wait and I stand up and look everywhere. My mind must be playing with me, no one's there.

"All alone. You are all alone and nowhere to go." This same voice still says.

"Who's there?" I ask.

"I'm nowhere, everywhere. I'm the only one here with you. All alone. All alone." It keeps on saying.

"Stop saying that! I'm not alone, I have Hajjar." I hold on.

"Oh yeah! Where is he? I'm your only friend here. Well, you see it. You'll see my way, they always do."

"NEVER!" He's with me. He's with me. He's with me. I repeat it in my head so I don't have to listen to this voice that's hunting me.

"Did you understand what I told you to do?"

Yes Master. I understood you perfectly. "I would do whatever he asks of me, je's the only one here for me.

"Repeat it to me." He demands.

I take the boat, master told me where it was hidden one day, and take the path he told me too.

Eventually I'm where I'm supposed to be and what I see in front of me has me freezing on the spot.

Hajjar is lying on the ground and he makes no movement whatsoever. He have claws marks and bruises all over his body. But what happened to him? I go to check on him but stop myself.

I can't do that Master told me to just observe and go back to him. But it's Hajjar if I don't do anything he will die. What do I do, what do I do? I have to go Master is waiting for me.

From afar, I see someone walking but she isn't walking in this direction. I have to put him on her path without being seeing so that she can save him. I have to hurry.

"Come on big guy." It's not easy but I manage to take him over my shoulder and bring him where she will meet him eventually.

I put him on the ground and I couldn't help it and kiss him one last time.

"I'm sorry my love but I have to go." Heartbroken, I leave him behind.

Before I go and return to my master I look at him one last time and I wash myself from his blood and remove all my tracks so no one can see i was even here. I went back and take the boat to return to master like he ask of me.

"I'm very disappointed with you. I specifically told you to watch and nothing more. What, you thought just because I'm not here then it's mean that I'm not real? I'm not a part of your imagination and when I'll free myself, I'll show you how real I can be."

"I'm sorry, Master, it won't happen again, I promise."

"I think I'm going to let you be alone for a while, maybe then you will learn to be more obedient."

"Please, no, Master, I came back to you, right? I would do anything. Don't shut me. Never leave me alone please." I am on my knees imploring his forgiveness.

"I'll tell you what, after careful consideration, I will give you one last chance. You will stay here and never leave this place. When they come and I know they will, you do whatever it takes to stop the, especially her. Have I been clear?"

"Yes Master I will remain here and stop the false chosen one when she come here and if I have to I will stop him even if it's mean to end his life."
