Chapter 3

My eyes slowly open up. The feeling of tiredness is still present. Sleep has always been something that has bothered me. I never felt fully fresh and awake. Somehow, I always felt tired. I noticed that the temperature of my room was very hot. Which is something mysterious. My room was always cold because it has always been my preference.

I slowly sat up. My eyes widen. Oh no, where am I? This definitely was not my bed. Or my room. This room is colored red, I absolutely despised the color red. What the hell is this? Where am I?

I furrowed my eyebrows, then it all clicked. I figured it out.

It was him. He did this. That idiot.

“You’re awake darling,” Lucifer said.

I turned to look at him. He was staring at me. His black eyes were twinkling as always. He stood near the door. I looked around the room. It is spacious and surprisingly bright. There are loads of paintings on the walls and some unknown objects that I did not know what is, hanging on the walls.

“Where am I?” I asked him curiously.

“You are in my palace, in hell.” He told me in a serious tone.

Suddenly, it clicked. That is right. I actually remember being here once before. It was when we were in a good place. It was when I was in love.

Flashback

“Are we really in hell?” I asked Lucifer once we entered in his big living room.

He kissed me on the cheek and looked at me.

“Yes, we are.” He told me.

I looked outside. There was not any grass. It was a red dessert and there were dead trees everywhere. Black eagles were flying around, guarding everything. It was very different. It was disturbingly fascinating. Although I can imagine what it must feel like being a tortured soul or a demon. I do not think that it is very pleasant, in fact, I think it must be exactly the opposite. You could hear the screams of demons and souls being tortured. It gave me slight discomfort but otherwise, I did not mind. I mean it was uncomfortable, but I could not do anything about it. It is not my place to judge the ruler of the underworld.

I noticed angels with red wings. I furrowed my eyebrows, red wings? I have never heard of anything like that.

Lucifer could, of course, read my mind.

“White wings are good angels as you know. It’s only me who has black wings. My fallen or evil angels as you could call them, have red wings because they’re tainted with evilness. Once a good angel, does something bad or evil, they get sent to hell. Then their wings turn red.” Lucifer explained to me.

I nodded but then a question came to my mind

“But why is it only you who has black wings?”

He smirked “I’m the most powerful creature, that has ever been created. And as you already know, I am the founder of hell.”

I was still confused.

“What about Gabriel? Isn’t he powerful too? He never answers when I ask him, how powerful he is?” I asked

Lucifer clenched his jaw and his eyes turned dark “He is. But I was the first angel created. Then the others came. That goody two shoes will never ever be as powerful as me.”

I nodded. Finally, I felt like I somewhat understood everything. In the corner of my eye, I could see Lucifer was still irritated, so I walked to him and hugged him.

He had to bow down a little because I am not so tall. Though I would like to consider myself fun-sized.

He began placing small kisses on my neck.

“You’ll have to catch me first!” I giggled then I ran like my life depended on it.

He narrowed his eyes and ran after me.

I snapped back to reality when Lucifer placed his hand on my cheek.

How dare he? I immediately slapped his hand away.

“You aren’t allowed to do that.” I pointed my finger at him even though it’s rude. I consider myself well mannered.

He smirked at me “I know what you were thinking.”

The memories began to surface again. Ever since we broke up, I kept my memories at bay. I knew that I could not take another heartbreak. The good memories when I first came here, brought up many different emotions. Mostly sorrow because of it will never be that way again. Lucifer made sure of that. All of this is his fault. The games that he is playing is making me so confused. I cannot handle being manipulated again. I cannot fall for his traps again. I desperately needed to go home and get away from everything.

I sighed while getting frustrated “Can’t you just tell me why I’m here?”

I always hated not knowing something. Like presents or gifts, I hated not knowing what I would get. I’ve always been like I have to know. I also despised surprises. He, of course, knew all of that about me. He has always been good at reading people. He literally also has the capability to read minds. Life is just unfair.

He raised his eyebrows “Maybe I’ll tell you if I feel like it.”

I fisted my hands “Fine. I’ll just go home.”

He began laughing “How will you get home from here? Some demon will probably drink your blood.”

He is right. I cannot do anything here in Hell. It is way too dangerous. I’ll end up dead. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

When I opened my eyes again, Lucifer was right in front of me. I jumped back in fright. Why is he always doing this?

He looked deep into my eyes. His eyes were almost hypnotizing. He then said “I’m never letting you go.” He smirked at me.

My eyes rolled in the back of my head and I fainted.

The last thing I saw was his black eyes
