Chapter 6: Flashback #2
It was black for a moment. Alyssa remembered something from three years ago.
Alyssa was sitting at home. It was... Lonely. She lived there alone, and she kinda preferred it that way. She read books, and fantasized about boys and girls and lived a happy life. She lived out in the middle of nowhere, so secluded that it would be impossible to find unless you were told about it. No one visited her. She didn’t really want anyone to. Least of all her brother.
So imagine her horror when there was a knock on the door, and as she opened it, his face greeting her like a slap.
“Hey, sis.” He smiled.
Alyssa didn’t really know what to do. It was Drake. He was there. After all this time, Drake just showed up like nothing had happened.
“Your hair looks nice. I like it pink.”
“How are you even here…?” She said, eyes wide.
“Jeez, is that any way to greet your brother?”
“You died. I was there. Michael cut your head clean from your body.”
“Is that what happened…? Apparently I’m too stubborn to stay dead. Truth be told, I don’t actually remember how I died. Last thing I remember was you moving in with Dee and me. Remember when it was just the three of us? How happy we were and how you two could never agree on anything except how stupid I could be. And how mad you were at her when I proposed and she said yes because you thought she could do so much better.”
“Came back from the dead to tell me that? You shouldn’t have wasted your time.” She said coldly.
“It’s just… I need you.. But then I clawed my way out of a shallow grave and the tombstone shared both our names.” Drake stood back a bit, and pushed his fringe away from his eyes. He smiled sadly, and looked at the ground.
“You really don’t remember?”
“You shouldn’t even be here.” She said, and glared at him.
“Alyssa, please. I don’t have anyone else.” Drake said. “Don’t make me beg you to be my sister. You’re all I have.”
“It’s just... Drake, if you knew...”
“Did I do something to you? I… I can’t apologise enough… Alyssa, please… If I’ve wronged you, I am so sorry, I am so very sorry… And maybe I can’t ask your forgiveness, but… I sincerely don’t remember.”
Alyssa began crying... She didn’t say anything, but couldn’t stop...
“Just… Come inside… I guess I owe you that much.”
She snapped back to reality. She smelled something like sulphur. It made her eyes water. She knew where she was. Limbo. Whoever that demon was, it dragged the three of them into Limbo.
