Using 5mm knitting needles cast on 82 st

1st and 2nd Row K

3rd Row K1, (K2tog, K14) to last st, K1 – 77 sts

4th Row and every following alternate row: K

5th Row: K1, (K2tog, K13) to last st, K1 – 72 sts

7th Row: K1, (K2tog, K12) to last st, K1 – 67 sts

9th Row: K1, (K2tog, K11) to last st, K1 -- 62 sts

11th Row: K1, (K2tog, K10) to last st, K1 – 57 sts

13th Row: K1, (K2tog, K9) to last st, K1 – 52 sts

15th Row: K1, (K2tog, K8) to last st, K1 – 47 sts

17th Row: K1, (K2tog, K7) to last st, K1 – 42 sts

Knit 3 Rows

Next Row: K1, (K2tog, K6) to last st, K1 – 37 sts

Knit 3 Rows

Next Row K1, (K2tog, K5) to last st, K1 – 32 sts

Knit 5 Rows

Next Row K1, (K2tog, K4) to last st, K1 – 27 sts

Knit 5 Rows

Next Row K1, (K2tog, K3) to last st, K1 – 22 sts

Knit 15 Rows

Next Row K1, (K2tog, K2) to last st, K1 – 17 sts

Knit 15 Rows

Next Row K1, (K2tog, K2) to last st – 13 sts

Knit 3 Rows

Next Row K1, K2tog 3 times, Knit to end – 9 sts

Knit 3 Rows

Next Row K1, K2 tog 3 times – 6 sts

Knit 1 Row

Next Row K2 tog 3 times – 3 sts

Break off wool and pass through last 3 sts pull up tight, fasten



Make 2

Using double ended needles cast on 4 sts

Knitting in the round knit until work measures 20” cast off

Make up as follows

Sew up side seam on beak cover attached ties to side edge opening approx. half way up on each side.
