Once a long time ago, the Elemental Masters gathered in halls to meet about the fate of the world.  They gathered with their servants to proceed in their existence.  The ‘Elemental Masters’ were humans with excessive amounts of magical energy making them ageless.

Of the Elemental Masters were those who reigned superior to the nearly invincible race—the ones known as Grand Masters—nine of them. Elemental Masters held the ability to keep a ‘servant’ with them.  The servant would be directly linked to their masters—sharing in the life-force allowing an ordinary man, or woman, live as long as their master did or allowed them to.

One of the Grand Masters named Terian was one who believed in only keeping one servant.  However, as well to an ‘ordinary’ man who served him, he had other Elemental Masters and other ordinary men whom followed him freely as free-will servants.  Those who followed Terian lived in a village at the base of the tower that Terian had claimed as his base.   The monsters on Terian’s side lived in a small village at the base of Terian’s Tower.

People feared the Elemental Masters due to misunderstanding of the power and reasoning they held.  Yet, like the Elemental Masters, one race, the Shikajins, were feared because they were the strongest of all the ordinary races.  This race, of all the races on the planet, was in direct links with the Elemental Masters.  Even the Royal Family—the Zrerecros family—served Elemental Masters.  At the correct age, an individual would chose to join with an Elemental Master and serve them accordingly.

Depending on ones choice as a servant depended on their destination.  For example, so would end up in the village at the base of Terian’s tower.

Even I lived in that village at one time…but it seems like a distant memory to me.  For me, to even think of Terian as a single person anymore feels rather strange to me.  I really don’t know the story from start to finish.  Though I am the oldest of the entire race of Elemental Masters, I could not begin to tell you the reasons everything happened.

All I know is that fate can lead to some strange occurrences…

JWalker: I loved this story from start to finish! It flows at a really nice pace and the story world feels so real. The fight sequences are a treat especially when Isanfyre is training to become a warrior. I found the names really cool and thankfully easy to pronounce. Personally I have always struggled w...

PurpleInkling: Hippocrite is spelt hypocrite. Also it is an awesome story! A good one after so long. I was hoping someone would write a good fanficiton playing off what Ron said at the station. You are doing a remarkable job. It would have been interesting if Albus had also ended up in Ravenclaw though that mig...

Morgan-Leigh Nortje: A storyline and plot not unlike something George R R Martin would have produced, only with far less tragedy. The stunning story of a young princess who goes into hiding and takes on an epic journey to save her father and her kingdom. With characters that you feel compelled to love and a plot that...

Usagi Kita: This story is emotional from beginning to end. You get to watch the characters struggle and grow, maturing in different ways so that they come to be the people they are meant to be. Lacey Schmidt: The Trouble with Super is that you can't stop reading it. Mr. Barrett's characters are all to easy to relate to even if you don't have a super quirk of your own, and their plight is both heart-rendingly funny and heart-warmingly sad at the same time. It's a bit like Office Space meets the Matri...

Sandra Leigh: excellent story. Lots of classic fairy tale elements with a fresh spin. Very much looking forward to the sequel. However, there are a number of typos and minor awkward sentences. The Rising Sun was one of the first stories I read on Inkitt, and I have to say I don't regret the three to four days I spent pouring through the story.Probably the biggest strength I see in your writing is your characterisation of Eliana, Oriens, and the rest of th...
