Não. Esta foi a mais dura das palavras que tive de pronunciar naquela tarde, mas um sim seria impensável e só o tempo, muito mais tarde, revelou que afinal de contas aquela tinha sido a palavra mais sábia que algum dia pude proferir.

Importa saber que jamais possuí a capacidade de predizer o futuro em toda a minha vida, mas, sem saber o que naquele dia estava a fazer, tomei uma, se não, a decisão mais acertada e ajuizada de toda a minha existência.

O significado de tal palavra ecoou para sempre até aos confins dos dias.

Passado, como alguns de nós o entendemos, é algo que não existe. É algo que num determinado momento foi o presente e que na efemeridade da nossa existência passou. Não existe um passado, nem nunca existiu, existe sim um momento.

Nem imagino que a vida alguma vez tenha sequer existido. A vida existe neste momento em que escrevo estas simples linhas. O que está para trás também existe, única e exclusivamente na forma em que existe, não como um passado, mas como algo que está simplesmente aqui e que foi em tempos um presente.

O que pretendo dizer é que não existindo passado, também não existe qualquer tipo de futuro.

Futuro é apenas um tempo verbal do que, hipoteticamente achamos, está para vir.

E, é no meio destas duas condicionantes temporais que existimos. O que é o presente, se não o momento actual. E foi num momento como este, que embora pareça que foi passado, antes pelo contrário, foi, é e continua a ser presente, em que proferi aquela palavra que deu início a tudo o que alguma vez importará, em qualquer existência, minha ou tua.

No momento em que escrevo estas linhas o tempo está suspenso, culpa de uma conspiração cósmica que no seu sempre presente conspira para que o que realmente importa seja o momento, nada mais que o momento temporal que levo a colocar um ponto final nesta frase.

Presente significa agora. Significa o instante e é no presente instante que o presente se apresenta. Não há como o esperar, pois ele simplesmente é, nem como lhe fugir pois ele é. É no presente que reside a vida. Não deixes que o teu “passado” interfira no teu “futuro”, e vive o momento, vive o presente que se te apresenta.

Eu não sou nem quero ser um oráculo, nem quero aqui profetizar qualquer tipo de presente futuro ou futuro presente. Quero apenas deixar-te estes escritos para que os leias com toda a atenção e carinho e percebas o que te quero transmitir, que percebas a mensagem que está no seu interior.

Amo-te.
