Chapter 1
Jack Walker
"I got him," I scream out to my colleague while holding down the thief under me.
I could see it was a man, maybe 25 or 28. It was hard to know when he had a mask over his eyes, just like in every movie about thieves.
He laughs. " Right now you have me, but just wait."
I looked down at him. " What do you mean?."
No answer.
"Hey!," I hit him hard on the ground. " Answer me. What do you mean?."
I heard a giggle and he looked up at me. " You see."
I was going to ask him again when my friend and colleague Martin was beside me and took him to the car.
" Good job Jack," He said and looked at me. "He was hard this one."
I nod and looked at the moon and in the dark alley.
"Yeah, I almost couldn't see him in the shadows. He blends in really good."
I heard a knock from the car. Me and Martin look at the thief in the car. He was knocking against the window. First 4 knock, second 1 and later 5. And at the same time, he looks up at the building and smile. He looked like he was dreaming.
" I think he is crazy," I heard Martin say.
I looked at him. " Why do you think that?."
"Look at the building. No windows on this side and it's too high to give a signal to anybody from here."
I nod and looks up at the building. "You are right, let's go."
Narcariel
"Tss, that police think they know anything." I said and giggles while looking at the police from the building.
Beside me was four more people and laughs when they saw the police car go. One of them was a guy who was in black and a had a mask over his eyes like us other. He looked up at me.
"I think they will be so surprised when they see what happens tomorrow".
I smiled. "Yeah, T. I love to see their faces when that happened." I said and stand up.
My life was heaven for me. I looked at the building beside the one we were on. I begin to run and jump over to it. I could hear J one of the old friend my dad send with us to keep an eye on me.
" Are you crazy, Narcariel? " he scream when I landed on the other building.
I smile at him. " Life is a crazy thing."
He shake his head and begin to jump over too with the other.
" You are a bunny who jump over and over," he said and looked at me.
I stared at him. Did he just call me a bunny?. God, I hope he has his run shoes on tonight because I will not forgive him.
He smiles at me when he saw how angry I did get.
J was not older than 48 years old but he was one of the best. And sometimes I think he lies about his ages. I took off my black jacket so my black and white shirt was showing just like everybody think thief have in movies.
" That was low, J," I said and saw the other look at me with dreaming eyes.
' oh not again.'
"Hey, dream boys wake up. Let's go get Max back and have a race to the boat." I said and smile.
This will be fun.
Jack Walker
I couldn't stop thinking about what that thief said. He was locked in, but something told me deep inside me that something is going to happen. I rub my eyes and looks at the door the thief was locked in. Maybe Martin was right. This guy maybe was crazy, and that effect me.
I turn around and goes to the kitchen. Martin and few new police were there and talk.
" Are they the new night police? " I askt and took a cup hot coffee.
"Yes, they begin next week without any help from us." Martin takes a cup. " I just hope they are not scared of the dark."
I giggle. " I don't think they are scared of the dark," I said and goes back to the cell with Martin after me.
" Do we know who this guy is? " he askt and looked at me.
I shake my head. "No, in some weird way he is not in any data. No name, no match." I sighed.
Martin looked at the door to the cell the man was in. " Well, he can't go anywhere. There are no windows in there and its six locks on the door."
" Yeah I know but he is so quiet even after 5 hours in there. I have checked him three times to be sure he is in there."
Martin nods and goes to the door and listening. " Well, I can take over now. You need to go home and get some sleep. " He looked at me. " Your parents coming tomorrow, right?."
I look down. " Yes. God I don't want to meet them."
Martin sat down on a chair. " Is it about to give them money or something else?."
" My dad wants money so he can buy more drinks and mom." I sighed. " She wants me to talk to my cousins, the twins."
He stared at me. " Ava and Jackson?." I nod.
"Oh no, don't do it, Jack. I wouldn't talk to them or even look at them. What they did to you is not something to forgive."
" Don't worry nothing will get me to talk to them." I looked at the door. " Ok, I go now. See you tomorrow Martin."
"Bye jack." I heard before I open the door and goes out to my car.
Narcariel
I watched the police go to his car, and wonder why he was so sad and angry. His face showed he want to kill something.
When he was out from my sight I looked at J, while he talked to the other.
I smiled. ' Just wait, policeman, tomorrow you will not be happy.'
Jack Walker
I looked angry at my phone when my mom tried to call me for the tenth time.' Don't she ever sleeps', I thought for myself and looks outside from my windows. The sun was up and showed a beautiful warm day. Just too bad, I couldn't enjoy it, I couldn't sleep when my mom called home phone and mobile all night. I rubbed my face and put on my working clothes.
"Jack!," I heard somebody scream and looks out from the window.
Martin was standing outside and was all red with anger.
I ran to the door. " Martin? why are you here?."
"You tell me," he said and walk in.
"What do you mean?. My house is 1 hour from yours, and you are here in the morning."
" That's the problem! ," he screams. " I was in the police station and watched the door and the next second I wake up outside your door."
I stared at him. "So you were in the police station and you wake up here?."
"That's what I'm telling you. There is no way that somebody could carry me out with all the police in the station."
I look in my jacket for my car keys. " We better move now, the person in the cell is maybe gone."
Martin walks after me to the car. " Why do you think that crazy guy is gone?."
I started the car. " Because if nobody is watching the door, who is?."
Martin jumps in and calls the police station. " This is Jackson calling from Walker's house. Is anybody there?."
No answer.
"Hello?."
I turn on the blue light and drive faster. Something was really wrong.
After driving past all the cars and people who was going over the street, we were finally there.
"Hey, there is everybody," said Martin.
I turned around and saw 16 police come from behind. They were all dirty and looked tired like they did walk for a long time.I jump out from my car with Martin after me.
" What happened?."
One of them was a young guy with blond hair answer. " We....don't know....we remember that we were here in the station and next...", He rubs his face. "We wake up outside the city."
I look at the other. "Do anybody of you remember anything?."
"Sorry, sir."
"No".
"No".
"No, sir."
I stared at them and run into the station. The door was open and I look around.
Everything was normal in there, only that no police was there. I ran to the door and saw it was open with a message on.

Try to catch me now
"Fuck!!", I kick the door and ran out.
Martin jumps aside when I ran out. " Jack..."
"Not now Martin, we must go now." I said and catch his arm while I was running.
"Where are we going? " he said and tried to not fall while we ran.
" Don't know, but I will find that baster and force him to talk."
Narcariel
I jump on the boat and looked at the moon. It would have been fun to see the police faces when they wake up, but we couldn't stay that long. The other jump too and stared at me while J started the boat. Max stod beside me with a smile on his lips.
" Don't you have anything better to do? " I said and kicked Max side when he tried to touch me.
Max put a hand on his side and laughs. " Bunny, I have been in jail. Is it really nice to kick me like that after saving me?." He took a hold of my arm and pulled me closer to him.
I looked angry at him and didn't answer. He just laughs and took off his mask, his dark blue eyes stared at me with lust. I looked at his blond hair that was almost black from the dirt.
" You deserve it," I said and looked away and heard him giggle.
"Oh don't be like that on me," he said and caresses my hair.
I was going to say something back, but...
" Narcariel, come here NOW!!," yelled J with an angry voice.
I smiled when Max let go of my arm." Yes, I can." I said and run up to J.
J looked at me while driving the boat with a hard look. "What? " I ask and took off one of my shoes and rubbed my feet.
" Your father expect you to choose one, not push everyone away."
" But all the guys in our city is just...." I turn my back to him. " They only want two things. That is only using me and take all the power from father....Ah!!!." Just when I said that J drives right into a wave which did make me lose my balance.
" J!!!. What the....".
"Don't say the word Narcariel!!!." He stared at me with hard eyes.
I looked down. Every time he was really, I mean really REALLY mad he don't want to hear the word hell.
I could still feel his stare at me, it was like he tried to dig holes in me with his eyes.
" Your father will have to talk to you, it's not my place," He said and drive faster.
I didn't say anything, I only looked down at the floor and wish my life was heaven like I thought it was. Too bad that my heaven was only when I have fun with the police in the city and not in my father's city.
I slowly looked at J and tried to think something to say, but I had nothing. I put on my shoe again and looked down at the other. I could hear them laughs and said something like " dumb police" or " stupid police brain." I looked at them for a few minutes and thought back to the police that caught Max.
" Its weird," I said more to myself. But J heard me.
" It's not weird to get a partner in life," he said.
"No, not that. I just thinking how that police could catch Max. Max talent is to become a shadow, nobody can catch him. " I looked at him. " And besides, you don't have a partner in life either." I stick out my tongue at him and giggles.
He looked at me and growl." I wish I had. But about the police, you got a big point there." J rubbed his head and thought for a few minutes.
I could understand him very well. In my father's city are people who were born to be a thief, but very different from any story. For over 6000 years ago, an angel name Sustrai come down to earth. Nobody knows if the angel was a he or she, but the name said everything. Sustrai mean thief in Basque and Sustrai was not a big angel like in the religion. But Sustrai comes down to earth and tried to stop the demon who tried to take over the people on earth. And Sustrai was the angel who had to do it because the demons were in different objects and the only way to hurt a demon was to steal the objects first before kill them. The objects were like a protecting thing for the demon. And the angels could not steal because it was a sin to steal things. But Sustrai was the only angel that could steal without broke any rules. But after Sustrai has tried to get all the demon, he had no time to go back home to heaven because new demon comes every day. So Sustrai decided to create humans that could help to steal the objects. Humans that was born to become thieves, and born with its special talent. Max to become shadow himself, T to see through walls and J to feel when an enemy is near. Its sounds like a fantasy story that everybody have heard, but no, it's not. Why my father is the leader of everybody is because Sustrai creat one very special human before flying home. Sustrai gave the special human angel blood, and with angel blood gave the human more than one special talent. Sustrai did that because he never want to go back to earth again. So this human was created to become the leader of all thief and this human is my ancestor, Arik the thieves king.
I looked at J. " I think we better watch out for that policeman next time."
J nod. " For the 186 time, you are right."
"Must you count every time am right about something?."
J giggles. " Yes."
"Why?."
" Because then you can't say you have more right than me."
" Oh, boy." I hit my face with my hand hard. "Kill me."
