Welcome to Esmera
Its a place where myths are real and legends roam the land.
This is Esmera. A place where anything is possible, where the unreal is real. Esmera is a place where you soar above the clouds or skim across the waters surface. Esmera is where dragons be.
Esmera is an island nestled away from the rest of the world. It is by no means a small island. It's huge, separated into different regions. You have the Madori Ha Region, the Frozen Valley, the mountain Region, Lava Gorge, Kaigan Ryōiki, and the Shadow Land. The Shadow Land is the largest region, next to the Kaigan Ryōiki. Beyond the mountains, was the unknown. No one dared go beyond the mountains, because of the rumors and stories that surrounded that area.
Until now. This is a story of how a war came about. How someone tried to take control of all of Esmera, and how one girl with the help from a group of friends, went over the mountains in search of solution to save the island of Esmera.
Zamara Hanamori sat staring out the window of her bedroom. Things seemed pretty peaceful. The town below was alive and bustling with activity as usual. She sighed again, knowing she had to get dressed otherwise Mr. Hulburry would come charging in, demanding she get dressed right this minute or he'd drag her into the changing room himself.
Getting up, she made her way over to the changing room, where the maid had set her dress. Slipping out of her gown and into the deep purple dress with intricate patterns along it. Once that was done, the maid came in to do Zamara's hair. The maid gathered up her long dual colored hair, into her hands, and started styling it up for the day. Zamara's hair was unique. Her went from maroon to golden yellow at the end, almost like the glow of the sunset. And the uniqueness didn't stop there, her eyes, as well, were different. They were an electric blue color.,almost as if there was an internal fire burning in them, though sometimes it seemed to sift to different shades. No one in the Hanamori family had been born this way. Not since a long time ago.
The maid took the hair and styled it up, weaving jewels and bells into her it, until it shimmered and tinkled at the slightest movement. Once done, the maid got to work on the makeup, bringing out her natural beauty. When she stepped back, Zamara was stunning, more so then any flower.
Shortly after the maid finished, leaving the room, Mr. Hulberry came in the room. " I would recommend getting your studies out of the way before the meeting today."
"Yes sir. Are all the Region Leaders coming?" Zamara replied.
"Yes mame. It is the annual summit meeting between regions after all" Mr. Hulberry said as he adjusted his spectacles.
"Yes, I know" Zamara replied, rolling her eyes slightly. Mr. Hulberry was the advisor for Madori Ha. He looked over most of the paperwork that the Region Leader, planning any trips that might need to be taken, and taking care of any meetings in the future, such as the summit meeting. He was very meticulous, and Zamara knew he took his job seriously.
She had known Mr. Hulberry since she was a child. He took over watching over her after Zamara lost her mother. Granted, a couple of those grey hairs in his hair were probably from some of the antics she pulled as a kid. "Do you think this meeting will go well?" She asked Hulberry as she turned to look at him.
Hulberry shrugged his thin shoulders," I do not know, Lady Hanamori. I am not a seer. One can only hope so"
Zamara nodded, though she was dreading the upcoming meeting. Not everyone got along with everyone else. Then again, every land had it's share of strife. What she really wasn't looking forward to, was seeing Dante and Xerxes. Dante was both cocky and charming, which could actually be quiet annoying, and Xerxes; Zamara kept feeling like she was being judged by him. Shaking her head, she left her room and followed Hulberry down the hall.
On the way to the library, she had to pass a huge set of double doors with the emblem of a rose above it and patterns of vines all along the door. She stopped and stared up at the door. Hulburry never allowed her to go in that room. That room was special. It housed Madori Ha's crystal. It was said, that each land got it's power, and energy from the energy stored in each crystal. If you took the energy out of the crystals, the land would die and the inhabitants would suffer greatly.
Zamara stared at it for a moment longer before walking to the library, where she found her study books on the table, ready and waiting for her. Spending the next hour or so studying. She read up on the history of Esmera and it's many legends associated with each region. Her favorite legend has always been the one about the Great Dragon. The first dragon to actually be seen in Esmera, and who helped expell the darkness that once covered the land. As a child, Zamara had always ask her mother to read her the legend. After her mother died, she started looking into the legend on her own, as a way to cope with the loss.
After a while, a servant notified her that it was time to head to the meeting chambers, to meet with the other Region Leaders. Putting the books aside, she thanked the servant, before getting up and walking out.
In the meeting chambers, all the leaders were gathered together, waiting for last person to come. From the Shadow Land, you had Dante Blood, from Kaigan Ryōiki, you had Titan Coralin, from the Frozen Valley, you had Yuki Bright, from the Mountain Region, you had an older gentleman by the name of Xerxes Blare, and from Lava Gorge, you had General Ignatius. As soon as Zamara walked in, who was the soon to be leader of Madori Ha, the meeting began. Aside from Yuki, she would be the youngest leader among the regions. Zamara greeted everyone before taking her spot at the table. They all nodded at her and took their seats.
For the next couple of hours, they talked about the bringing of fish from Kaigan Ryōiki, wheat and fruit from Madori Ha and and the cost of more armor and weaponry from Lava Gorge. "The weapons and armory could take time, depending on how much is needed. You can't rush blacksmithing if you want good quality weapons or armor."
"If there is any help Madori Ha can give you, I'll gladly lend it" Zamara told the General.
Ignatius bowed his head in Zamara's direction," Much appreciated Lady Hanamori."
Zamara smiled. She had known the General since she was a mere child. He was like a grandfather to her.
Letting out a yawn, Dante lounged back in his seat," If you need more power to create the necessary gear, why not use the energy from the crystal?"
Hearing him, the General slammed his fist down onto the table," Absolutely not! Those crystals are sacred, given to us by the Great Dragon a long time ago! Why would you even suggest that Blood?"
Dante shrugged his shoulders, before sitting forward in his seat," It's not like I'm suggesting abusing the crystal. That would be absurd. If you did that, you'd just cripple your land. All I'm suggesting is using a small amount of that energy to power your smithies."
Zamara shook her head," Dante, even if you used a small amount, it would still set the region off balance. What your suggesting just isn't possible. Not without repercussions"
"For once, I have to agree with Hanamori. Dante, what you're suggesting is surprising, coming from you. I thought you had more sense then this. I would expect Zamara here, to suggest this, but not you." Xerxes said, resting his chin on the back of his hand, as he peered at the Shadow Land's Region Leader.
Zamara bristled at Xerxes's words. Turning her gaze towards him, she demanded. " And why do you think I'd suggest such an absurd idea?!"
Xerxes shrugged his shoulders," With how reckless you were as a child, why would I not think such a thing? You're as wild as your mother was, before her untimely passing"
Gritting her teeth, Zamara shoved her chair back as she stood," Speak about my mother again like that, and I'll have you escorted back to your dragon!"
Yuki Bright laid a calming hand on Zamara's arm at the same time Titan Coralin spoke," My my. Not even taken the crown yet and you're acting very high and mighty, huh Lady Hanamori"
Zamara turned her blazing blue eyes towards Titan, as he smiled lazily back at her. "Watch it, Coralin. I will do the same to you as well" Titan merely laughed at that, unaffected by the threat.
"ENOUGH!" General Ignatius's voice echoed around the meeting chamber, silencing everyone and drawing their attention to him. The general stood there, his eyes scanning over everyone, before settling on Xerxes. " Xerxes, it would be wise if you kept your comments and your judgements to yourself. Especially while in the land of Madori Ha. I will not have a war among the regions started because of something you said. The same goes for you as well, Titan"
Titan shrugged at this, stretching slightly," Hey, you don't have to worry about me, general. All's good here."
Xerxes merely grunted in response, but said nothing more. Satisfied his words had gotten through, Ignatius took his seat again, and gestured for Zamara to continue. Bowing her head in thanks to both Yuki and Ignatius, Zamara took a deep breath before letting it out slowly. "This meeting is dismissed. If there is anything more you need to add, you can refer to Hilberry for it"
Looking at everyone in the room, Zamara bid her goodbyes, before leaving the room and following the halls down to one of the side doors. After that little altercation, she needed some fresh air. Time to clear her head. And she knew just where to go for this. Following the pathway away from the Great Tree, she came across a meadow filled with wild flowers of all sorts.
Dragons lived on Esmera. They've lived here a long before the inhabitants settled here, though no one about at the time. Until the Great Dragon. There were dragons in each region, each with their own special abilities and skills. Zamara waited for a bit until she heard the familiar beat of wings. Zamara smiled as she turned her eyes towards the sky.
