Season 1 Episode 1. “Here Comes The Vampires.”

Fade IN:

EXT. LARGE FIELD - DAY
Salisbury England, 1680

A sizable crowd of English men and women gather around a LARGE WOODEN PYRE as the lively MAYOR JESUIT APPROACHES. Behind him, two men escort LENA ALLEN, a beautiful African American woman dressed in rags, to her fiery grave.

The Mayor stands before the townspeople, full of conviction, and begins to address them.

MAYOR JESUIT :
Good townsmen and women of Salisbury, gather around to witness the execution of the devil's daughter! It was revealed unto me this slave standing before us, Lena Allen, is a vampire!

The crowd GASPS and QUAKE in mortal terror as the mayor waves at his men to tie the woman to the post at the apex of the wooden pyre. Lena struggles to escape as the men tie her up and step away.

Mayor Jesuit continues to insight fear within the hearts of the townspeople.

MAYOR JESUIT :
(vindicitively)
Yes, fear her! For she is a Satan worshiping vixen! An abomination of nature sent to feast upon our children and dance upon our graves! For too long they have hidden among us, lurking in the shadows, but no more! There is no place in our world for her kind, and it's time we send her back to her rightful place in hell!

The mayor picks up a WOODEN ROD and plunges it into the nearby fire pit.

He holds it upright to give the condemned woman her final chance to speak before she is executed.

2.

LENA :
May the Immortal Ones have the mercy to save you all!

MAYOR JESUIT :
(shouting angrily)
Burn, Demon!

Mayor Jesuit tosses the blazing rod into the pile of wood and the fire begins to take form. The crowd watches Lena Allen SCREAM out in anguish as the fire consumes her.

Three bats, made completely of black smoke, emerge from the fire and fly high into the afternoon sky.

CUT TO:

EXT. HOLLOW POINT PARK.
Forgotten Hollow, Oregon — NIGHT

HOLLOW POINT ANNUAL FALL MUSIC FESTIVAL, SEPTEMBER 23RD,1999

PAMELA FARLAND(24), a young American college student, makes her way through a field of trees as she heads home from the music festival.

She walks alongside her classmates, ELIZABETH RIVERS(25), and MIRANDA JORDAN(24), as they chat on their way to their individual cars.

MIRANDA :
(enthusiastically)
That music festival kicked ass! Thanks for inviting me.

ELIZABETH :
If you think that was good, then you should have come with us to last year's festival.
(to Pamela)
Tell her how awesome it was!

PAMELA :
It was totally awesome, but now I need to get home to study for that biochemistry test tomorrow.

ELIZABETH :
(incredulously)
That's tomorrow?

3.

PAMELA :
Yes, and if I fail, it will lower my grade. So, I'd better go. See you in class!

ELIZABETH :
Bye!

MIRANDA :
Bye!

Pamela turns away and heads into the woods towards her car as Elizabeth and Miranda walk off in the other direction.

Pamela soon notices a set of LUMINOUS EYES watching her from behind the trees and begins to run towards her car, only to trip and fall to the ground.

She is then helped up by CLEMENTINE PORTER(27), a pretty and suspicious young woman, who has been watching after her.

PAMELA :
Thanks. Who are you?

CLEMENTINE :
I'm Clem. I was sent to protect you.

PAMELA :
(uneasily)
Protect me from what?

PATRICK COLEMAN(38), a charming and stealthy evil vampire, jumps down from atop a nearby tree and lands behind Pamela. He hits her over the head before she falls to the ground.

CLEMENTINE :
From him! Run!

Pamela runs towards her car as Clementine retrieves a WOODEN STAKE from inside her boot. She surveys the area for the vampire with no result.

Until SUDDENLY, Coleman swoops in behind her and rips the stake from her hands before aiming it towards her heart. She quickly becomes frightened by what the evil vampire is planning.

COLEMAN :
(patronizingly)
Stupid vampire! Did you really think a stake would stop me? I'll be invincible once I have the powers I seek.
(he pauses while looking down at the stake.)
The question is, will it stop you?

4.

Before Clementine has a chance to respond, Coleman forcefully drives the wooden stake into her heart. She CRIES OUT in pain and her physical form is disintegrated before his very eyes.

A bat made of black smoke flies up from the pile of ash and lands inside Coleman's body, symbolizing that he has stolen Clementine's individual power.

MATCH CUT TO:

EXT. LARGE GOTHIC CASTLE HOME - CONTINUOUS

A bat flies overhead the luxurious black brick layered Cromwell Castle as two young women approach.

HARPER CROMWELL(23), a young and bright-eyed, gorgeous biracial woman, follows behind her older sister.

HANALEISA "HANA" CROMWELL(25), a fiery yet feeble, gorgeous biracial woman.

Harper calls out to gain her sisters attention, who is too busy with her phone call to listen.

HARPER :
Hana!

Hana continues to walk up to the front door as she speaks into her Nokia 5110.

HANA :
Yes, tomorrow evening at 5:00pm is perfect. I'll see you then. Bye.

She hangs up the phone as the two enter their family estate.

HARPER :
(concerned)
Do you really want to sell Grammy's house?

HANA :
Harper, between my medical bills and your frozen yogurt fixation, our salaries alone are not enough to afford this place.

HARPER :
Don't you think we should at least consult with Heidi before making such a big decision? Grammy left this castle to the three of us.

5.

HANA :
(sarcastically)
So when we call the little arsonist to invite her, do we mention that we want to sell the castle before or after she torches the place?

Harper SIGHS in frustration over having to relive the same argument over and over again.

HARPER :
Hana, she was a kid. She didn't mean to—-

Hana quickly stops her sisters train of thought to add her own two cents.

HANA :
(irate)
She's irresponsible! She set fire to our kitchen after falling asleep while cooking! I had to pull her out of it, and now I have an autoimmune disease that I'll have for the rest of my life. So, excuse me if I'm not looking forward to that "reunion special."

HARPER :
I know how you feel, but this house belongs to the three of us.

HANA :
(acerbically)
She's just going to want her cut of the money. We could easily mail it to her without having to exchange pleasantries.

HARPER :
She's our sister, Hana.

Hana lets out a frantic SIGH.

HANA :
Fine. Let's call her.
(She pauses while pretending to think)
Oh, that's right! No one has seen or heard from her since Grammy's memorial service four months ago! So even if we really wanted to, we couldn't.

6.

The doorbell RINGS.

HARPER :
(sheepishly)
I found her three weeks ago. She was staying with a boyfriend in Hawaii, but when they broke up, she sent a postcard telling me that she was coming home. Talk about good timing, huh?

HANA :
Three weeks ago?

The door OPENS as the sisters look over to see who has arrived.

HEIDI CROMWELL(22), a beautiful and vivacious biracial woman, ENTERS the main hall to be greeted by her older sisters.

HARPER :
(perky)
Welcome home, Heidi!

Harper moves closer and gives her younger sister a warm hug.

HEIDI :
Thanks, Harper! It feels good to be back.

Hana dramatically CLEARS HER THROAT.

HEIDI :
Well, at least one of my sisters is happy to see me.

HARPER :
(tactful)
Hana is happy to see you. Right, Hana?

Harper and Hana both broadcast fake smiles at one another, then turn them towards Heidi.

HANA :
(sardonically)
I'm ecstatic! So you're here because we're selling the house, right?

HEIDI :
Without consulting with me, of course.

7.

HANA :
(rhetorically)
And now you show up after being m.i.a for months to take your cut of the money and skip town, is that it?

HARPER :
Hana!

HEIDI :
(spitefully)
I'm here because I want to be here, not out of my own bitterness or misery.

HARPER :
Heidi!

HANA :
(resentful)
How dare you? I've given up any chance of achieving my own happiness to make sure that the two of you had everything you need. As if that wasn't enough, now thanks to you I'm going to have a permanent disability for life! So, bite me!

HARPER :
Take it easy, Hana!

HEIDI :
No Harper, let her vent. She can't go six seconds without telling everyone how much she does for them and how we should all be kissing her ass!
(to Hana)
Drop the narcissistic attitude sis, and I promise you'll find a man that'll stick around!

HANA :
(condescending)
Well, I guess I should be taking relationship advice from Heidi, "The Geographical Hoochie!"

HARPER :
That is So enough!

8.

In the peak of the animosity, Hana begins a LOUD bout of ROUGH COUGHING. Harper grabs a tissue from the box on the end table nearby and the sisters become concerned when they notice that Hana is coughing up blood.

HARPER :
(worrisome)
Are you alright?

HANA :
(hoarsely)
Yeah, I'm fine. I just need to go and lie down.

Hana heads up the stairs to her room before Heidi rolls her eyes and STORMS OFF into the living room.

HARPER :
Heidi! Ugh!

Harper rolls her eyes as she lets out an exhausted SIGH.

CUT TO:

EXT. HOLLOW POINT PARK - CONTINUOUS

Forgotten Hollow Law Enforcement Officials investigate the crime scene and search for evidence of foul play.

DETECTIVE MARCEL ROGERS(26), a smart, dashing, open-minded young African American man, approaches his partner.

DETECTIVE ROBERT SMITH(28), a handsome, strapping, narrow-minded African American man.

MARCEL :
What exactly are we looking at here, Smith?

ROBERT :
A young woman, by the name of Pamela Farland, was found lying here drained completely of all her blood.

Detective Rogers briefly rest his head in his hands as he tries to process the information.

ROBERT :
Another was hospitalized with severe blood loss.

9.

MARCEL :
(bewildered)
It just doesn't make any sense. Who could have done something like this?

ROBERT :
Any number of things, really. My guess would be wolves, a bear, or a mountain lion of some kind.

MARCEL :
Or maybe it was a vampire.

Detective Smith begins to CHUCKLE at this ridiculous claim.

MARCEL :
(impassioned)
Think about it, Smith. If the victims were attacked by an animal, how could they have suffered such severe blood loss from one bite to the neck? This leads me to believe that we are dealing with something paranormal. What is so hard to believe about that?

ROBERT :
(apathetically)
Aside from the fact that vampires are fictional, Rogers? I'm willing to believe that someone else may have been involved, but we deal with catching the human wackos out there, and not anything out of a Bram Stoker novel.
(he pauses)
Look, if you want more information, you should pay a visit to our other victim over at the hospital, when they let her out of the ICU.

Robert walks off as Marcel ponders over the possibility of the theorized vampire attacks.

CUT TO:

INT. CROMWELL LIVING ROOM - LATER

A frazzled Heidi sits upon the couch, watching the news on television inside the Gothic chic style family living room.

10.

Harper ENTERS the room holding TWO BOWLS OF FROZEN YOGURT with SILVER SPOONS and hands one to her sister as she takes a seat.

HEIDI :
Thanks.

The sisters each begin to eat the frozen yogurt as they chat.

HARPER :
What are we watching?

HEIDI :
The news. Some poor woman was killed outside the park that Grammy would force Hana to take us to after school every day.

HARPER :
(ardently)
I remember that place! The three of us always had so much fun there.

HEIDI :
I know. I've missed the both of you a lot, but I miss the old Hana.
(she pauses and drifts into nostalgia)
I wish I could have her back.

HARPER :
It all started after mom died. Then when Hana got sick it's like she became a completely different person.

HEIDI :
(defensively)
It really was an accident, Harper! I did not intend to set the kitchen on fire! I just wanted to make dinner for her, so she wouldn't think I was entirely useless. She's always been so brilliant and talented. Now she's become a medical scientist to find a cure for her pulmonary vasculitis, and I'm still just her unemployed, talent-less little sister.
(she pauses)
Sometimes I wish I could be as smart as her, so she would have to show me more love and respect.

11.

Harper moves closer to console her sister.

HARPER :
(empathically)
Heidi, you are anything but talent-less, believe me. I don't think the two of you realize how much alike you both are. You're both brilliant, confident, and charismatic. You can walk into any room and easily become the center of attention. I envy that! I wish I was more confident and in control of my life.

The sisters both set their bowls down on the coffee table and comfort one another with a hug.

When SUDDENLY, a bat BREAKS through the window nearby and flies into the castle.

The sisters SCREAM as the power MYSTERIOUSLY shuts off, FORESHADOWING that everything was about to change.

HARPER :
(anxious)
What was that?

HEIDI :
I could be wrong, but I think a bat just broke in.

HARPER :
And shattered a window! Hana's going to be pissed!

Harper starts out of the room just before Heidi grabs hold of her arm to stop her.

HEIDI :
It doesn't strike you as odd that a bat breaks into the castle just as the power shuts off? I think we should try to find it.

HARPER :
(dissmisive)
No. I think we should try to turn the power back on. I'm going to check on my sister. Can you go to the basement and try flipping the circuit breaker?

12.

HEIDI :
Sure.

Harper heads upstairs while Heidi makes her descent into the basement.

INT. LARGE BASEMENT - MOMENTS LATER

Heidi enters the basement holding a FLASHLIGHT as she searches for the circuit breaker.

After having no luck finding it, she notices a mostly empty, RUSTIC BOOKCASE at the far end of the basement and as she moves closer, the bat FLIES DOWN and lands on top of the only book residing upon the bookcase.

She moves forward and when she reaches for the book, the bat SCREECHES and flies over her head as she falls to the ground.

The bookcase begins to swing open and as Heidi gets up from the ground, she notices something strange and ventures into the hidden lair.

INT. HIDDEN LAIR - CONTINUOUS

Heidi enters the dark and creepy, medium-sized room. Barely visible to her eyes with assistance from her flashlight, to find an assortment of peculiar items.

A POTTED TREE that grows exotic, DARK PINK FRUIT.

A RUSTIC WOODEN TABLE, lined with various RITUALISTIC ITEMS.

And an unusual appearing, BLACK CHESS BOARD.

She passes them by when she spots a DARK WOODEN LECTERN, beneath a MASSIVE, WOBBLY CHANDELIER.

Heidi approaches the wooden lectern and stumbles upon a LARGE, BLACK TOME in the shape of a coffin, with an OCCULT SYMBOL on the cover.

She opens the book and reads the title page ALOUD.

HEIDI :
"Tome Of Vampires."

Three bats made of black smoke, emerge from the Tome and fly directly into each of the sisters as the power comes back on. Symbolizing the sisters powers being activated after months of estrangement.

13.

FOOTSTEPS APPROACH.

HARPER (O.S.) :
Heidi?

HEIDI :
In here!

Heidi picks up the book as her sisters enter the room.

HARPER :
(dazed)
What are you doing in here? Actually, What is here? I mean-

Hana interrupts her sister to ask what they both would like to know.

HANA :
I got this one, girl.
(to Heidi)
Heidi, what's going on?

HARPER :
What she said!

Heidi moves closer to her sisters as she begins to explain.

HEIDI :
Well, I came down here to find the circuit breaker, and found this secret lair hidden behind the bookcase like something you'd see on "The Addams Family." Cool, huh?

HANA :
Heidi!

HARPER :
What is that?

Harper points to the ancient tome while Hana pries the book from Heidi's hands and begins to thumb through it.

HANA :
Apparently it's some kind of vampire handbook.

HARPER :
Vampires?

14.

HEIDI :
I know it sounds strange, but I think the bat was trying to show us something. I think that we are, or we're supposed to be vampires!

HARPER :
(distrusting)
Heidi, that's ridiculous!

The loosely secured chandelier continues to sway above the sisters.

The bat flies in and lands on top of it, next to the last wire supporting the large and luxurious light fixture.

HEIDI :
I'm not making it up!

HANA :
Yes, you are! You're always pulling pranks on everyone, but no more! Stop messing around with the occult like this before you get us all killed!

In the midst of the argument, the bat uses his claws to cut the last wire supporting the chandelier, and the giant light fixture comes tumbling down on the sisters.

The girls SCREAM out in anguish as they are electrocuted and killed by the heavy light fixture.

CUT TO BLACK.

INT. CROMWELL KITCHEN - MORNING

Heidi enters the Mediterranean-style kitchen to find her sisters gathered around the table, eating the DARK PINK FRUIT from the hidden lair.

HANA :
(satirically)
There she is! "Countess Dracula," ladies and gentlemen!

HARPER :
Good Morning, "Vampira".

Harper and Hana LAUGH together in amusement.

HEIDI :
You guys still don't believe me?

15.

Hana stands up from the table.

HANA :
Not in the slightest.
(to Harper)
Harper, have you seen the phone book? I need to call a repairman to fix that broken window.

HARPER :
It's in the living room, on the bottom of the bookshelf.

HEIDI :
(to Hana)
You still want to go through with selling the house?

HANA :
Nothing's changed, Heidi. We're still selling the castle and once you get your money, you can take off again like we all know you will.

Hana leaves the room and Heidi rolls her eyes before moving closer to Harper, who is still enjoying some bizarre fruit from the tree inside the hidden lair.

HEIDI :
Is that the fruit from the lair?

HARPER :
Yeah. Hana and I were hungry, and they were the only source of food that we could think of.

HEIDI :
That's because "Zila Fruits are a magical blood substitute, created for good vampires to eliminate the need to feed on humans."

HARPER :
(sardonically)
No more television for you.

HEIDI :
Harper, I'm serious!
(she pauses)
Maybe for the first time in my life, but I am. We were born inside a powerful vampire bloodline, created by a former slave named Lena Allen, who was turned by evil to protect all that is good.

16.

HARPER :
Give me a break!

HEIDI :
It's true! She was given a unique set of supernatural abilities to become the embodiment of all that a vampire should be.

Harper rolls her eyes in disbelief and gets up from the table to throw the fruit in the trash can. Heidi follows behind her as she continues to explain.

HEIDI :
(convincing)
She could form kinetic energy blasts, representing strength. Detect information through bats screeching, promoting knowledge. And she had the power to mesmerize anyone to do as she desired, displaying her unique charm.
(she pauses)
She vowed to pass down her powers to every generation of Allen vampires, until they came to us. "The Immortal Ones," three vampire sisters sent to save the mortal world from damnation.

HARPER :
(disparaging)
That name is confusing! Aren't all vampires immortal?

Heidi SIGHS in frustration.

HARPER :
Besides, aren't vampires dead? Wouldn't that mean that we died?

HEIDI :
(rhetorically)
How else do you explain us walking away, without such as a scratch, after a 250 pound chandelier fell on top of us?

17.

Harper quickly goes into a panic.

HARPER :
This isn't real. This is some kind of dream.

HEIDI :
(jeeringly)
That all three of us are having? Fat chance!

Harper continues to panic as she looks around the room in disbelief.

HEIDI :
Our ancestor was this beautiful woman, who had her life taken away from her, in more ways than one. Then, she gets rewarded for that sacrifice by becoming strong enough to ensure that her descendants would never be tormented at the hands of her oppressors.

HARPER :
Where are you getting all of this?

HEIDI :
(determined)
The tome of vampires. You can read it for yourself, if you still don't believe me.

HARPER :
(ridiculing)
That's okay. I'm running late for work. There's some big shot food critic visiting the restaurant today, and Richard will have my head if I'm not in the kitchen by 10:00 am.

HEIDI :
What is it going to take for me to convince you that I'm right?

HARPER :
I'm not sure Heidi, but I really don't have all day to reflect on it.

Heidi smirks pridefully as she comes up with a new way to prove her story to her older sister.

18.

HARPER :
(hesitantly)
What?

HEIDI :
I have an idea. Follow me!

Heidi grabs a hold of Harper's hand and leads her to the upstairs bathroom.

INT. UPSTAIRS BATHROOM - MOMENTS LATER

Harper and Heidi stand in front of the sizable, VACANT MIRROR above the bathroom sink and discover something strange.

HARPER :
Where are our reflections?

HEIDI :
We don't have them anymore. Common knowledge and also stated in the Tome Of Vampires, "Vampires do not have reflections."

HARPER :
(inquisitively)
How the hell am I supposed to do my hair?

Heidi turns towards her sister.

HEIDI :
Harper, we have bigger issues to worry about than a bad hair day!

HARPER :
(mocking)
What now? Have we gained some sort of Photosensitivity?

HEIDI
Actually, yes. But-

HARPER :
Excuse me?

HEIDI :
Chill out, Harper. There is a ritual in the tome that will rid us of our solar intolerance. Although, we can still be burned by fire. But regardless, we need Hana for the ritual to work.

19.

HARPER :
She's going to bug out when we tell her that we don't have reflections anymore.

Harper and Heidi exit the bathroom and make their way downstairs to the living room.

INT. CROMWELL LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Harper and Heidi enter the room to find that their older sister, Hana, has already found a repairman who is taking measurements of the broken window.

HEIDI :
(vexatiously)
Wow, you found a repairman that fast? You go, girl!

Harper and Heidi share a LAUGH, to Hana's displeasure.

HANA :
I'd think the two of you would be more interested in selling this castle, given all the weirdness that took place here last night.

HEIDI :
Speaking of weird, we need to tell you something.
(she pauses)
Downstairs!

Hana takes the hint and follows her sisters down the stairs and into the hidden lair behind the old bookcase.

INT. HIDDEN LAIR

The sisters enter the lair together and gather around the tome.

HANA :
Okay Heidi, What are we doing in here?

HEIDI :
We need you to perform a blood ritual with us that will rid us of our sunlight intolerance.

20.

HANA :
(taunting)
Okay, you've gone nuts!

HARPER :
(to Heidi)
Wait a minute! You never said anything about the ritual requiring our blood!

HEIDI :
(sarcastically)
We're vampires! What did you think it would require? A lock of hair?

Harper SIGHS frantically while Hana makes her way towards the exit.

HANA :
This is insanity!

Heidi quickly stops her sister from leaving.

HEIDI :
(assertive)
Look, Hana. I know we have issues and there will be plenty of time to work them out later, but right now I need you to trust me. If we do not perform this ritual, the sun's harmful rays will burn us alive!

HARPER :
(to Hana)
She's telling the truth.

HEIDI :
See for yourself.

Heidi points to the CURTAIN on the far wall of the room.

Hana walks over and SLOWLY pulls back the curtain to reveal a SMALL, hidden WINDOW.

She holds out her arm and the sunlight begins to BOIL her skin.

She SCREAMS out in pain, then quickly shuts the curtain.

HEIDI :
Believe me now?

Hana sprints over to rejoin her sisters.

21.

HANA :
(tolerantly)
What do we have to do?

HEIDI :
The tome says that to perform the ritual, all three of us must spill blood into a chalice. Then we form a triangle around it and each say "Libero Hoc Lamia A Sole," before-

HARPER :
What does that mean?

HANA :
(boasting shamelessly)
It's Latin. It translates to "free this vampire from the sun."

HEIDI :
Yes. Then after we recite the words, we each take a drink from the chalice.

HARPER :
(cynically)
We have to drink it, too?

HEIDI :
Harper!

HARPER :
What? Neither of you can convince me that this is a safe or sanitary thing to do!

HANA :
There's a chalice on the shelf outside the lair, I'll grab that. But what do we use to draw blood?

HEIDI :
We are vampires, after all. We should be able to protrude fangs somehow. Maybe they have some kind of emotional trigger?

HANA :
(callously)
Sure it does. I'll go get the chalice.

Hana leaves the lair to retrieve the CHACLICE, while an aggravated Heidi closes her eyes and takes a DEEP BREATH.

22.

Heidi opens her eyes and mouth, successfully managing to protrude her FANGS. Hana enters the lair holding the CHALICE.

HARPER :
Woah!

HEIDI :
I guess anger is the trigger. That shouldn't be too hard for the three of us. You both can just think about how angry I make you.

Hana and Harper both close their eyes and immediately protrude FANGS.

HEIDI :
I didn't mean literally, but whatever it takes. Ready?

HANA :
Let's do it.

Hana bites into her hand and spills her blood into the chalice, then passes the cup around to her sisters.

Harper and Heidi bite into their hands and spill their blood into the cup before placing it upon the ground.

The sisters form a triangle around the chalice and begin to CHANT ALOUD IN LATIN.

HEIDI :
(chanting loudly)
Libero Hoc Lamia A Sole!

HARPER :
(chanting loudly)
Libero Hoc Lamia A Sole!

HANA :
(chanting loudly)
Libero Hoc Lamia A Sole!

The blood inside the chalice begins to BOIL temporarily before coming to a stop.

The sisters look around at one another before Heidi picks up the chalice.

HARPER :
Now, that has to be volatile.

23.

HEIDI :
(forcefully)
Just drink it!

The sisters each take a drink from the chalice and set it back on the ground.

HARPER :
Did it work?

Hana walks over to the curtain and pulls it back. She EXTENDS her arm out into the sunlight and is surprised to see that her skin doesn't catch fire.

Hana walks back over to rejoin her sisters.

HANA :
(egotistically)
Great. Now I need to get to work, or I'll never get a raise.

HARPER :
Yeah, I should head out, too.

Harper and Hana begin to head out of the lair, just before they are stopped by Heidi.

HEIDI :
Wait! We were just given vast power and immortality, and you two seriously just want to go to work and blow it off? Wouldn't you rather stay here and look through the tome with me?

Hana and Harper share an apathetic look with one another, then turn their attention back towards Heidi.

HANA :
No!

HARPER :
No!

HARPER :
See you later, Heidi.

Hana and Harper exit the lair while Heidi walks over and begins to thumb through the tome of vampires.

CUT TO:

EXT. EDISON'S SCIENCE FACILITY - LATER

A toll booth worker OPENS the gates for a small car to enter the SPACIOUS science facility.

24.

INT. SCIENCE LABORATORY - CONTINUOUS

Hana and a group of various medical scientist sit at their workstations and operate on their experiments individually.

DR. PHILIP MAXWELL(48), a strict, yet whimsical older gentlemen, enters the room to gather his employees attention.

He is followed behind by three directors of the Scientific Organization Of Oregon.

PROFFESSORS ALEXANDER BROWNING(49), GREGORY KEENE(54), and DR. MARISSA WHITBY(43).

MAXWELL :
(excitable)
Ladies and Gentlemen of the medical science lab. As promised to you, I have brought with me the directors of the Scientific Organization Of Oregon.

The scientist all APPLAUD and continue to gather around to listen.

MAXWELL :
You were each asked in the weeks prior, to compose a file of your medical science research and discoveries for the directors and I to review, and decide who among you will become this year's top medical scientist of the Scientific Organization Of Oregon. Which will include a $20 hourly raise as well as two weeks paid vacation time.

The crowd APPLAUDS and CHEERS in celebration of the news.

MAXWELL :
Over the past week, Professor Browning, Professor Keene, Dr. Whitby, and myself have been tirelessly reviewing your entries, and we believe we chosen someone who is rightfully deserving of this achievement.

Hana begins to grin pridefully and step forward as she assumes the reward belongs to her.

25.

MAXWELL :
It is an honor to present the 1999 top medical scientist award to none other than...
(he pauses dramatically)
Dr. Avery Maxwell!

The crowd APPLAUDS as AVERY MAXWELL(22), the spoiled, carefree son of the boss, walks over to shake hands with the directors and claim his reward.

Hana looks disappointed as she joins in to congratulate her fellow employee.

BACK TO:

INT. CROMWELL LAIR - CONTINUOUS

Heidi continues to flip through the pages of the tome of vampires, when SUDDENLY she hears the sound of a bat SCREECHING in her ear.

HEIDI :
What was that? Who's there?

She looks around the room for the source of the noise and is dumbfounded when the screech translates into a message inside her thoughts.

"AN EVIL VAMPIRE IS COMING FOR YOU AND YOU'RE SISTERS"!

HEIDI :
(tragically)
Oh, No!

Heidi quickly closes the tome and heads out of the lair to find her sisters.

CUT TO:

INT. HANA'S OFFICE - LATER

Hana enters her private office space with a despondent look upon her face, and begins to take a DEEP BREATH.

Heidi rapidly barges into the office, hoping to share the news with her older sister.

HEIDI :
Hey. We need to talk!

26.

HANA :
Now's not the time, Heidi. How did you get in here, anyway?

HEIDI :
Doesn't matter. When I was in the lair scrolling through the tome, I could hear a bat screeching in my ear!

Hana raises her eyebrows in disbelief of Heidi's story.

HANA :
A bat?

HEIDI :
Yes, and it translated into a message. There's an evil vampire coming for us!

HANA :
(ill-tempered)
Heidi, I just got passed over for a scientific award, a pay raise, and a two week paid vacation, by some preppy white college kid with a trust fund, all in one single act of nepotism. I am not in the mood for this!

HEIDI :
You may not take the whole vampire thing seriously, but I do! This vampire is coming and unfortunately I got stuck with the passive power, but you have an active one! The sooner you learn how to wield it, the better!

HANA :
Not now, Heidi!

HEIDI :
Hana, just-

Hana angrily interrupts Heidi.

HANA :
(furiously throws arm out)
No!

While arguing, a KINETIC ENERGY BLAST forms from within Hana's hand and flies out at Heidi.

27.

Heidi SCREAMS while ducking down to the floor and the blast flies through the office door, shattering the glass.

Avery Maxwell is knocked down by the blast and receives some minor cuts from the glass door.

HEIDI :
Feels good to be strong again, doesn't it?
Hana looks down at her hands, in amazement, before moving closer towards her sister.

HANA :
Yeah. Are you okay?

HEIDI :
I'm fine.

Avery GROANS out in pain behind them.

HEIDI :
Now him on the other hand, he could use medical attention!

The girls move closer to examine him.

HANA :
(remorsefully)
Oh, no! The bosses' son!

HEIDI :
Guess he'll be taking that paid vacation a little earlier than expected.

Hana protrudes her FANGS and hisses angrily at Heidi.

HEIDI:
I'm sorry. Too soon?

CUT TO:

INT. GIUSEPPE'S RESTAURANT - LATER

Numerous couples and families sit together in the dining room to enjoy their authentic Italian meals.

INT. GIUSEPPE'S KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS

Harper mixes a POT OF PASTA NOODLES on the stove as her boss approaches.

28.

RICHARD GIUSEPPE(31), the smug, entitled, immature son of the owner, storms in to bark orders at Harper.

RICHARD :
Harper! The critic has been waiting in the dining room for over an hour, and the best we have to offer him are stale dinner rolls? Unacceptable! And you call yourself a chef.

HARPER:
(repentantly)
I'm sorry for the delay, Richard. I'm working on a special dish of mine that takes a little longer to prep, but it always tastes exquisite. If you'll just give me a little more time, I can-

Richard rudely interrupts Harper before she can finish.

RICHARD :
Time's up!

Richard grabs the first completely prepared TRAY OF FOOD and takes it out into the dining room, as Harper quickly follows behind.

INT. GIUSEPPE'S DINING ROOM - MOMENTS LATER

Richard walks over and places the tray down in front of the food critic. He takes a step back to allow the critic to sample the food.

RICHARD :
Bon appétit!

The food critic grabs a fork and picks up some food from his plate.

Harper rushes over with one hand covering her heart and the other held out at the critic. Her eyes begin to GLOW as she calls out to him.

HARPER :
(mortifying)
Don't eat that!

She waves in the critic's face, and he drops the fork, just before his eyes begin to GLOW, as well as that of everyone else currently in the dining room.

29.

Harper looks around at the other tables and spots a better dish to serve the critic. She walks over to the table, grabs the tray, and switches it out with the tray on the food critics table.

She waves her hand in his face again to command him.

HARPER :
Eat this.

The critic begins to follow her orders and eat the food. Harper looks around and takes notice that she is in control of everyone's actions.

She moves closer and waves in Richards face next.

HARPER :
(confidently)
Now, you. I want the rest of the day off.

RICHARD :
See you tomorrow.

HARPER :
Better yet, make that the rest of the week!

RICHARD :
I'll see you on Monday.

HARPER :
And I'll need a raise. Of, say $20 more per hour?

RICHARD :
I'll add it to payroll tonight.

HARPER :
(persuasively)
Thanks. Now, why don't you give our lovely food critic here some dinner entertainment. In the style of the chicken dance, perhaps?

A mesmerized Richard climbs on top of the table and begins to perform the chicken dance for all to see.

Harper laughs heartily as she watches her boss make a complete fool of himself.

HARPER :
This is great! I could get used to this. See you Monday, Richie!

30.

Harper heads out of the restaurant as everyone's eyes turn back to normal. Richard gets down off the table and looks around in confusion.

CUT TO:

EXT. JOHN MCLAUGHLIN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL - LATER

An ambulance's alarm SOUNDS as it drives up to the main entrance, passing by the hospital sign.

INT. HOSPITAL WAITING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Hana and Heidi sit together and chat as they wait to hear more news on Avery's condition.

HEIDI :
If you think about it, because of our shared immortality, we'll be young forever.

Hana rolls her eyes and scoffs at Heidi's statement.

HANA :
(derisively)
That's exactly what I need. To spend eternity with you stealing all my clothes.

Beside the waiting room, Detective Marcel Rogers ENTERS through the main entrance and up to the check-in desk.

Heidi nudges her sister and briefly points over towards him.

HEIDI :
(heckling)
Hey, isn't that Marcel Rogers? The love of your life?

Heidi teases her sister by playfully SMOOCHING THE AIR.

Hana slightly tilts her head and squints her eyes as she responds.

HANA :
(strained)
Ex love of my life. Excuse me.

Hana gets up and approaches her ex-boyfriend.

HANA :
Marcel? Marcel Rogers?

31.

Marcel turns around and smiles when he recognizes her.

MARCEL :
(delightfully)
The beautiful Ms. Hana Cromwell. To what do I owe the pleasure?

HANA :
I'm actually here visiting a co-worker. He had a little accident, but he's going to be okay. What are you doing here?

MARCEL :
I'm here on a case. I've been assigned to question one of the "animal attack" victims from last night.

HANA :
(fascinated)
I think I heard about that. They were attacked outside the park or something?

MARCEL :
Yes. Unfortunately one was found dead, but the other victim was just moved from ICU to a recovery room. The dangers of being young and having fun, I guess.

With her newfound vampire hearing, Heidi chimes in from across the room.

HEIDI :
(shouting)
Tell me about it!

Hana turns to face her sister as she scolds her from across the room.

HANA :
(shouting)
No one likes an eavesdropper, Heidi!

Heidi rolls her eyes at her sister before Marcel smiles and waves to her.

MARCEL :
Hey, Heidi!

Heidi smiles and waves back as Hana rolls her eyes.

32.

HANA
Don't encourage her.

MARCEL :
(provokes playfully)
Is that jealousy I'm sensing, Cromwell?

Hana LAUGHS sarcastically as the receptionist at the front desk begins to roll her eyes.

HANA :
Ha! No!

RECEPTIONIST :
Would you two mind taking this conversation away from the desk? The people in this waiting room need medical assistance, not this "J. Lo and P. Diddy" mess!

HANA :
Sorry.

The two walk away from the front desk to talk.

HANA :
(quietly)
She was rude.

MARCEL :
Tell me about it.

Hana smiles and playfully hits Marcel in the arm, but her newly acquired vampire strength causes him a little more pain than expected.

MARCEL :
Ouch!

Marcel grabs his arm and briefly rubs on it.

HANA :
Are you alright?

MARCEL :
Yeah. I think so. You've been hitting the gym, Cromwell?

HANA :
I guess I don't really know my own strength these days.

33.

MARCEL :
(endearingly)
Well I'm glad to see that you're doing better. I hadn't really seen you much after the accident. Partially my own fault, of course. I would hear about your frequent hospitalization and worry about you.
(he pauses)
I'll always care about you, Hana.

HANA :
I know, Marcel. I really appreciate it, but I promise you I am feeling a lot better now. Trust me.

MARCEL :
I can't argue with that. Listen, I should probably give my witness a little more time to recover. Do you want to grab some terrible hospital café food while we catch up?

HANA :
Sounds terribly fun. Let's go.

The two walk off towards the café as Heidi follows a handsome young male doctor out of the waiting room.

CUT TO:

INT. CROMWELL MAIN HALL - MOMENTS LATER

Harper ENTERS the front door and hangs her jacket on the coat rack.

The doorbell RINGS.

She pauses before opening the door to find Patrick Coleman, wearing a suit and waiting to be invited inside.

HARPER :
Can I help you?

COLEMAN :
(anxiously)
You must be Harper, right?

HARPER :
Yes. Who are you? And how do you know my name?

34.

COLEMAN :
I didn't mean to startle you. I'm Patrick Coleman. The real estate agent hired by your sister, Hana.

Coleman extends his arm and the two shake hands.

HARPER :
Oh, right. She's not here right now, but I'm sure she'll want to know that you stopped by, and I'll tell her to call you.

Harper attempts to shut the door but Coleman stops it with his arm.

COLEMAN :
(persistently)
Do you know how long she'll be out? I could come in and discuss the sale with you while we wait.

HARPER :
(hesitating slightly)
Well, she shouldn't be out much longer. I guess that's okay. Come in.

Coleman cracks a SINISTER smile as he ENTERS the castle doors and as Harper walks towards the table, Coleman clasps onto the WOODEN STAKE, hanging out of his back pocket.

CUT TO BLACK.

INT. HOSPITAL WAITING ROOM - NIGHT

Heidi sits in the waiting room, when she gets another detection message through the bat SCREECHING in her ear.

"THE VAMPIRE IS CLOSING IN ON YOU!"

She immediately gets up and rushes off to find her sister.

INT. HOSPITAL CAFÉ - CONTINUOUS

Hana and Marcel sit across from each other at the table as they catch up.

MARCEL :
Come on, Hana. Let me take you out sometime. To a place where they don't serve tuna right out of the can.

35.

HANA :
Marcel.

Heidi quickly barges into the cafeteria and interrupts the two.

HEIDI :
Sorry to interrupt guys, but we need to go!
(she pauses)
Home. To feed the cat.

MARCEL :
(to Hana)
You have a cat?

HANA :
(passive aggressively)
Yes. A very needy, very stubborn, disabled cat. I'm sorry, Marcel. I really do have to go.

MARCEL :
Another time.

Marcel watches Hana and Heidi exit the café before heading upstairs to question the victim.

INT. RECOVERY ROOM - MOMENTS LATER

Marcel ENTERS the room to find the young woman, Elizabeth Rivers, laying upright in a hospital bed.

He APPROACHES her.

MARCEL :
Excuse me. Are you Elizabeth Rivers?

ELIZABETH:
(confused)
Yes. Who are you?

MARCEL :
I'm detective Marcel Rogers. I work for the FHPD, and I would like to ask you a few questions about the attack. Did you see anything? Did you see the kind of animal that attacked you?

36.

ELIZABETH :
(reserved)
You wouldn't believe me if I told you.

MARCEL :
What attacked you, Elizabeth?

ELIZABETH :
I know this sounds crazy, but I think I was attacked by a vampire!

Marcel looks almost SHOCKED to hear Elizabeth confirm his previous suspicions.

MATCH CUT TO:

INT. CROMWELL DINING ROOM - LATER

Harper and Coleman sit at the table in the dining room as they continue to discuss the details of selling the castle.

HARPER :
(skeptically)
I don't know, Mr. Coleman. For a castle this size, with this location, it just seems like we should be asking for a lot more money.

COLEMAN :
I think you forget, Ms. Cromwell. Everything factors into the price. Cosmetic repairs, heating and cooling, a cleaning service, and-

Harper quickly cuts off Coleman during his sentence.

HARPER :
Massive realtor fees!
(holds up contract)
A lion's share of this money is going directly to you! Seems like you could be doing a little more to accommodate our needs.

Harper walks over to grab a pen off the nearby end table as Coleman reaches for the WOODEN STAKE again.

COLEMAN :
(indifferently)
Don't worry, Ms. Cromwell. Everything will be taken care of.

37.

Before he can pull out the stake, Hana and Heidi ENTER the main hall through the front door.
Harper walks out of the dining room and over to greet her sisters.

INT. CROMWELL MAIN HALL - CONTINUOUS

Harper makes her way back into the main hall to greet her sisters.

HARPER :
There you two are! You'll never believe what happened to-

Heidi interrupts her sister before she can continue.

HEIDI :
(scolding)
Here we are? We've been looking everywhere for you! You were supposed to be at Giuseppe's. We went there looking for you, but your boss didn't know where you were.

HANA :
Or where he was, for that matter.

HARPER :
So, I had a little fun with my new power today.

HEIDI :
(facetiously)
Yeah, we figured. I'm just glad to see that someone else is ready to embrace our family heritage besides me. I was starting to worry about you two.

The sisters CHUCKLE before looking over into the dining room.

HEIDI :
Who's the guy? Are you on a date?

HARPER :
No, actually. He's a realtor and he came for Hana.
(to Hana)
Hana, you should probably go and humor this guy. I'm sure he's charging us by the minute, just for being here.

38.

HANA :
Right.

Hana walks into the dining room to greet the realtor.

INT. CROMWELL DINING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Hana ENTERS the dining room and extends her arm out to greet the realtor.

HANA :
(motivated)
Mr. Coleman, hi. Let's talk payment, shall we?
Coleman and Hana shake hands before she joins him at the table.

INT. CROMWELL MAIN HALL - CONTINUOUS

Harper and Heidi continue to discuss the strange and pushy realtor.

HEIDI :
I don't know about you, but this realtor guy is giving me a really creepy vibe.

HARPER :
(impatient)
He's giving me a migraine. Have you seen how much we're paying this fool?

HEIDI :
No, but bring me the contract. I want to see.
Harper goes into the dining room to grab the contract for her sister.

INT. CROMWELL DINING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Harper ENTERS the dining room to grab the contract, when she overhears a peculiar conversation occurring between Hana and Mr. Coleman.

39.

HANA :
I'm just not sure whether it really is a good deal. Maybe if I had more time to fully contemplate the terms of the arrangement-

Coleman anxiously cuts Hana off before she can continue.

COLEMAN :
(arrogantly)
What is there to think about? It's a killer deal for a killer property. Truly worth killing for!

The sisters soon become worried by Coleman's word choice.

As Heidi moves closer towards the dining room, she stops in front of a picture of the sisters and begins to hear a bat SCREECHING in her ear.

HANA :
(nervously)
See, you're throwing around the noun "kill" a lot, and that's just making me a little uncomfortable. It'd be great if you could stop, now.

Harper notices the stake in Coleman's pocket as Heidi begins to decipher the message inside her head.

"COLEMAN IS THE EVIL VAMPIRE SENT TO KILL YOU ALL AND STEAL YOUR POWERS!"

She immediately ALERTS her sisters.

HEIDI :
Hana, He's Evil! Run!

Coleman jumps up and pulls the wooden stake out from his pocket before he attempts to drive it through Hana's heart.

She SCREAMS and ducks out of the way, causing him to fall over and let go of the stake.

Harper grabs the stake and FORCEFULLY drives it through the evil man's heart.

HARPER :
Stay away from my sister!

The sisters crowd around Harper and step back to watch Coleman disappear.

40.

HANA :
Thanks, Harper!

HEIDI :
Nice job, sis!

Coleman gets up from the ground and LAUGHS MANIACALLY as he pulls the stake from his heart.

COLEMAN :
(degrading)
Stupid bitch! Did you really think a stake could stop me? You've got to try harder than that!

Coleman runs over and shoves Harper across the dining room table as she SCREAMS.

He tries to slay her with the stake, but is KNOCKED DOWN by a KINETIC ENERGY BLAST, fired off by Hana.

He is not injured, but it temporarily stops him from trying to kill the sisters.

HANA :
Heidi, take her to the lair! Now!

Harper and Heidi head downstairs to the lair as Hana finds herself face to face with the killer enemy.

She holds up her arm to hurl a kinetic energy blast at Coleman, but she misses him completely and BREAKS a nearby lamp.

Coleman is amused by her lack of power control.

COLEMAN :
(harshly)
You're awful at this.

Hana hurls another kinetic energy blast at the evil vampire and accidentally SHATTERS a nearby window.

He continues to move closer, clutching the stake within his hand.

COLEMAN :
It's truly a shame that all this strength and power was wasted on someone so miserable and weak!

A now furious Hana, hurls a kinetic energy blast directly at Coleman that KNOCKS the vampire to the ground.

41.

She then runs down to the lair to join her sisters.

INT. CROMWELL LAIR - MOMENTS LATER

Hana quickly ENTERS the room and shuts the door behind herself, before she joins her sisters as they gather around the Tome Of Vampires.

HANA :
Okay, Heidi. How did you know he was evil?

HEIDI :
I got a detection when I walked past the picture of us on the wall upstairs. It told me that Coleman was and evil vampire, sent to kill us and steal our powers.

HARPER :
(sneeringly)
How do we stop him? The stake didn't exactly do the trick last time.

HANA :
Heidi, was there anything in the tome that can help us stop him?

HEIDI :
I think so.

Heidi flips through the pages of the Tome of Vampires, until she reaches a page titled "Triplex Triangulum," and begins to read aloud.

HEIDI :
"Triplex Triangulum." "The triple triangle." "When three work as one, the impossible can be done."

HANA :
Heidi, this page is written in mom's handwriting. Couldn't you tell?

HEIDI :
(underbred)
I didn't know! I wasn't old enough to remember her when she died, let alone her calligraphy!

42.

INT. CROMWELL DINING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Coleman gets up off the ground and makes his way down into the basement.

INT. CROMWELL LAIR - MOMENTS LATER

The sisters begin to plot their next move as they hear FOOTSTEPS APPROACHING.

HARPER :
(troubled)
Okay, you two can fight later! If there is a later, providing that this vampire doesn't kill us all!

HANA :
Heidi, what does the ritual require us to do?

Heidi continues to study the page as Coleman tries to break into the lair.

HEIDI :
I think it wants us to form some kind of triple triangle around Coleman. It's somehow the key to his destruction!

HARPER :
(disconcerted)
That doesn't make any sense. Wouldn't we need like six more good vampires to form a triple triangle?

HANA :
There's not exactly any good vampire chat rooms that we can log into.

HEIDI :
(decisively)
Will you two just trust me for one second, please? I don't think we need nine vampires to form the triple triangle. I think the tome is saying that we are the triple triangle!

Coleman begins to break down the door to the secret lair.

43.

COLEMAN (O.S.) :
(shouts angrily)
You little vampires really don't get it, do you?
The sisters begin to panic as they continue to concoct a plan to eliminate the evil vampire.

HANA :
Elaborate, Heidi! And do it fast!

Coleman continues to SHOUT as he breaks down the door.

COLEMAN (O.S.) :
You're trapped with no way out!

Heidi resumes her explanation of the mysterious triple triangle.

HEIDI :
There are three of us and three points in a triangle. We are each immortal beings with supernatural blood, and triangles represent strength. What is stronger than three sisters working together as one? Nothing! If we work together, nothing and no one can destroy us!

Coleman finally breaks through the door and ENTERS the lair, clasping onto the wooden stake in his hand as he moves closer towards the sisters.

COLEMAN :
(aggressively)
I'll destroy you! And take all your powers for my own!

Hana hurls a kinetic energy blast that knocks the vampire down as the sisters rush to form a triangle around him.

HANA :
Now!

After forming the triangle, the sisters protrude their FANGS and bite into their own arms, allowing their blood to spill onto the floor.

They begin to CHANT in Latin as Coleman gets up from the ground.

HANA :
(chanting loudly)
Triplex Triangulum!

44.

HARPER :
(chanting loudly)
Triplex Triangulum!

HEIDI :
(chanting loudly)
Triplex Triangulum!

The girls continue to CHANT and as Coleman tries to exit the triangle, their magical blood COMBINES to pool underneath the vampire and immobilize him in the center.

COLEMAN :
(degrading)
You are so confused! You slay your own kind to protect humans! Bags of food!

The sisters continue to CHANT while their blood begins to ENGULF Coleman's entire body.

HARPER :
(awestruck)
It's working!

HANA :
Keep going!

The girls resume their CHANT as the blood begins to catch FIRE.

CROMWELL SISTERS :
(chanting loudly)
Triplex Triangulum! Triplex Triangulum! Triplex Triangulum!

Coleman tries to escape once more, but he is bound inside the triangle.

He begins to SPOUT OFF his last dying words.

COLEMAN :
(shouting insidiously)
Evil vampires will hunt you down forever! The humans will never value what you do for them! They will see you as monsters and kill you all the same! Saving them will be your deaths!

The sisters continue to CHANT in Latin as the fire consumes Coleman.

45.

He SCREAMS out in anguish before disintegrating into dust right before their very eyes.

The sisters look around at one another, still in shock by what has become of their lives.

CUT TO BLACK.

EXT. CROMWELL CASTLE - MORNING

Hana removes the for sale sign posted in the front lawn, as Marcel gets out of his vehicle and approaches her.

MARCEL :
Are you selling the castle?

HANA :
(calmly)
You know, if you had asked me that yesterday, then my answer would be 100% yes.

MARCEL :
But now?

HANA :
Now, I have more work to do, a lot more to think about before that should be decided. So for now, this is where I'll be.

MARCEL :
(pleasantly)
Well, I'm glad I could help you pick the better option. I've really missed having you around, Hana.
(He pauses)
Do you want to go out for that dinner tonight? Japanese food? I'm buying!

HANA :
(reluctantly)
I don't know if that is such a good idea, Marcel.

MARCEL :
Why not?

HANA :
For lack of a better phrase, I'm just not the same girl that you fell in love with anymore.

46.

MARCEL :
(sympathetically)
Change is inevitable. It can be scary, but it's the only constant we have in this world. I believe we all change for the better.

HANA :
I'm starting to believe that, too.

MARCEL :
I'll call you soon. Is your home phone number still the same as it was in 8th grade?

The two both CHUCKLE briefly.

HANA :
(amorously smiling)
Yes, it is. I'll talk to you soon, Marcel.
Marcel plants a friendly kiss onto Hana's cheek, before getting back into his car and taking off down the street.

Harper and Heidi come home from their morning walk and begin to tease their older sister.

HEIDI :
(deriding)
Wow, Hana! Was that Marcel, again? I'd say he's got the hots for you, sis.

HARPER :
That was Marcel? Hana, why are you not climbing that?

Harper and Heidi begin to LAUGH at their own jokes.

HANA :
I don't think it's wise or safe for me to date Marcel. We're going to have all sorts of evil beings breaking down our door, and I don't think he should be around that. For his own sake!

HARPER :
(satirically)
How very noble of you.
(she pauses)
What about the house?

47.

HEIDI :
Yeah. Not that I'm complaining, but why the sudden change of heart?

Hana grabs the for sale sign as the girls begin to head up to the front door.

HANA :
I'm not sure if it's the fact that we moved back here and became an all powerful, immortal trio, or because the realtor tried to murder us. And not just in service fees!

The sisters all share a LAUGH as they continue to walk.

HANA :
But really, I know that our household funds may not be plentiful, but the job that we do makes up for that. If we can save the world from evil vampires, then we can definitely work out our issues inside the castle.

HEIDI :
(compassionately)
I think I can feel the house bringing us closer together, already. I guess that's why Grammy left it to the three of us.

HANA :
"The protectors of the living!"

HARPER :
(mockingly)
" The Immortal Ones!"
(she pauses)
Man, they really couldn't come up with a better title, huh?

The sisters LAUGH once more while they enter through the castle doors.

The sun SHINES high in the morning sky as a black bat flies over the castle rooftop.

FADE OUT.

THE END.
