Staring down the road headed to my new prison for the next two years was agonizing. It was rare for a family of our breeding to move let alone move when kids are involved. This whole thing made me wonder.
Sighing I could feel the tension in the air as we got closer to the school in question. This was going to be absolutely dreadful going into a new school as “freaks” and late starters, nonetheless.
looking up to my mom who was turned so she could face me and Charlie in the back
“are you sure you have everything”
I could hear how nervous she was and I gave a slight smile of reassurance and nodded my head with a uh hm. I know my parents felt bad. I just did not understand why we had to move at all. The new territory felt different and even had a different smell. Grunting to myself I decided I would just have to get used to it. Charlie seemed more tense than usual as he sat stiff as a board just lost in the new world, we found ourselves in. It was honestly even hard to tell if he was breathing. I could feel his uneasiness waft off him as we got closer and closer to our new school.
