Joshua, the Alpha and I got into his office and then I sat down across from Alpha Jackson after he got changed and sitting down at his desk.
“Joshua, go and get our new member a drink and perhaps something to eat.”
“You got it, boss.”
Joshua told him before he left the office. I looked at the Alpha and he said to me.
“So, Serena, tell me more about yourself.”
“Well...where should I start Alpha Jackson?”
“How about which pack you were from, who your parents were and what happened to them and how you got those injuries.”
I took a deep breath and then Joshua came back with some food and drinks for us.
“Okay well...my full name is Serena Williamson. I was the daughter of Robert Williamson, he was the Beta of the Black Pride pack.”
“I’ve heard of that pack, they said to be the strongest pack that ever lived until now...” Joshua spoke sadly.
“Yeah...anyway, we were invaded by the Dark Fate pack. We tried to fight them off but, it was no good. There were too many rogues and it wasn’t just them, we encountered demons, vampires and god knows what else attacked us when they invaded my home. My father and the Alpha tried to fight them off but...in the end...there’s a chance they might have...anyway, I managed to escape but, I ended up in the clutches of a rogue Alpha and well, as you can see, this is how I got these injuries. After I got away from them, Ellie took me in and she dealt with the rogues who chased after me and then she brought here.”
Joshua and Alpha Jackson looked at me with sympathy in their eyes.
“I’m sorry for your loss, Serena.”
“It’s all right, Alpha Jackson. I was glad that Ellie came along when she did.”
“So that hunter didn’t do anything bad to you at all?” Beta Joshua asked me.
“No, she was very hospitable with me. Although she wasn’t very friendly with those bad men who tried to capture me, that was scary. I’m beginning to see why people call her the Bloodhound.”
Beta Joshua gasped in fear before he pressed his back against the wall with a scared look on his face.
"Joshua, what's wrong with you? all she said was Bloodhound."
"Jackson, haven't you heard the rumours or the stories?!"
"Huh? what rumours and what stories?" Alpha Jackson asked him with a confused look.
"The Dreaded Bloodhound that's what! she's one of the scariest and deadliest hunters alive! I don't know where she came from but, all I know is that she hunts and kills werewolves. She even went after the rogue Alphas who have the highest bounties on their heads including the rogues who have caused a lot of trouble. I also heard some of the parents tell their pups that if they don't stop misbehaving then Dreaded Bloodhound would haunt their dreams and give them nightmares!"
'He's not kidding...when I was 7 years old, I used to cause trouble until my mother told me about the Bloodhound. That story gave me nightmares for weeks.'
I thought to myself before Jackson started chuckling.
"Joshua, you scaredy-cat! those are just rumours, they're not even true."
"Are you sure? because after seeing the state that Alan, who kidnapped your sister, was in. Ugh, I hate to be the next guy who comes across her path. You got lucky when she got called for that emergency when she did. I do not want to be around when you two meet."
"Joshua, cut it out. She's just a human who is working as a hunter with some silly title, nothing more," Alpha Jackson spoke with a frown.
"I wouldn't be too sure about that, Alpha. After what I've seen in Ellie's basement...I don't think any of the rogues will stand a chance against her if they fight her. She's got all different kinds of weapons and she's got wolfsbane and silver. It's like she's being prepared for the werewolf apocalypse or something."
I explained to him and Beta Joshua.
"So what? that's just like a hunter, always being prepared for a fight. Anyway, Serena, since you were the daughter of a Beta, you'll be shadowing Joshua for a while so you know the ropes and you'll be staying with him too."
I smiled when Alpha Jackson told me this.
"Really?! thank you so much, Alpha Jackson! Beta Joshua!"
Joshua chuckled before he ruffled my hair.
"Call me Joshua, kid. Anyway, let's go, you've had a long journey."
"Okay, see you later, Alpha."
I said to him before Joshua and I left the office. Joshua led me to his house and then he opened the door.
"Sorry if it's not what you were used to but, it's home."
"It's great, thank you, Joshua."
I spoke with a smile on my face before he showed me to my room. Once we got there, Joshua told me.
"I don't use it all that much aside from letting guests use it. So, feel free to do whatever you want with it."
"Thank you so much, Joshua."
"You're welcome. Anyway, since you don't have much yet, why don't we head into town so I can buy you some new clothes and stuff for school too."
I nodded my head before we left the house. We got into Joshua's car and then he took us to the mall. Once we got there, we went into different stores to see what clothes I should get. After we bought a lot of T-shirts, jumpers, leggings, shoes, underwear and other essentials I needed, we decided to get some lunch at one of the cafes.
"Hello, Beta Joshua, who's this lovely young lady?" A kind old lady asked him.
"Susie, this is Serena. She just got here and she'll be living with me and she's gonna be shadowing me as well since she was the daughter of an Alpha."
"That's kind of you. But, shouldn't she be in an orphanage? no offence."
"Alpha is gonna sort something out once Serena is settled here."
"Okay, so what will you two be having for lunch?"
"I'll have the usual and Serena?"
I looked at the menu and I asked her.
"Can I have a chicken burger and chips and a drink of cola, please?"
"Sure honey," Susie spoke with a smile before she wrote down our order.
While Susie was away getting our order, Joshua asked me a few questions.
"So, when you were still the Beta's daughter, how much training did you get with your father?"
"A lot of it. My Father started training me two years ago and I loved it. I got to spend time with my father and train with the Alpha's son since I was gonna be his second in command."
"I see, I guess there's no need for me to go into details about the training I'll be showing you."
I nodded my head and then our food came along with the drinks. As we ate our food, Joshua told me.
"Just to let you know, I won't go easy on you just because you're a kid."
"I don't mind. My father and Alpha made sure I knew what I was doing and they showed me their moves."
"Don't get cocky, the training I'm putting you through won't be the same as what you're used to."
Joshua told me before he took a sip of his coffee. I smiled at this and I couldn't wait to get started.
The next day, Joshua got me signed up for school and then he told me that we're gonna start training later on today and I don't mind that at all. However, I was a little nervous since this is my first day in a new school and in a new pack. I wondered if the other students and pack members would like me.
The headmaster looked at me up and down and then Joshua said to him.
"This is Serena Williamson. The newest pack member I was telling you about."
"It's nice to meet you, the Alpha has told me a few things about you."
"All good I hope," I spoke with a smile.
"Of course, here you go. Here's your schedule and good luck on your first day."
"Thanks. Bye Joshua."
I headed to my first class which was English and then I walked into the room before sitting down at one of the desks in the back. I was feeling a little nervous since it was my first day in a new pack and in a new school, so if I sit at the back no one will bother me.
Once the bell rang, some of the students came into the classroom and then the teacher showed up.
"Good morning, class, we have a new student joining us today. Serana Williamson?"
I stood up from my desk and I said to her.
"That would be me, Miss."
"My name is Miss Taylor and would you like to introduce yourself to the class."
"Of course. My name is Serena Williamson, I'm 10 years old and I was the daughter of the Black Pride pack's Beta."
"Beta ranked huh? care to tell us why you decided to come here?"
"My pack, unfortunately, got destroyed by the Dark Fate pack and I was lucky enough to escape from them before they could kill me too. Long story short, I came here after the invasion."
"Well, you're one tough cookie, Serena. You may sit down and we can get started with the class."
I nodded my head before I sat down at my desk and then classes started. Hopefully, this fresh start goes well for me.
