Chapter 13

Derek arrived back at his apartment to find it vacant. Only a note left from Brian.

Hey, I had to run to my parent’s place, if Amelia comes back, tell her to wait.

Derek put the note down and shrugged it off while he cleaned up his messy room waiting for Raina to come by. He lifted his arm up and took a whiff of his armpit, which was a little soggy and jerked his face away. Muttering to himself about how awful he smelled, he walked into his bathroom and turned on the shower for a quick rinse.

Meanwhile, Gabe and Raina were still on the phone. Raina sat at her office desk and continued her conversation with Gabe.

“I know this is bad! I told you that! Do you not listen? Since Amelia is there, she needs to stay and wait with you. I’ll go thereafter I stop by Derek’s.”

Amelia stood next to Gabe while they talked on the phone, and she could hear Raina. She jerked the phone away from Gabe’s hand and put it up to her ear and said, “Raina! Come here now! Brian will be there, and he will wonder what in the hell is going on? I just took off, leaving him there without an explanation. He just asked me to go away with him, and he finds out this lunacy he will dump me!”

Raina rolled her eyes as she banged the end of her pen on top of her desk. “Amelia, calm down. Derek and I are back together, and I don’t want to ruin anything for either of us. But we have to find Pandora. We have to figure out what it was we did that released her and what it means. Raina hung up without giving Amelia any time to respond.

She gathered her things and left Nevoc and headed straight over to Derek and Brian’s apartment. Having just arrived, she heard Derek stirring around in his room. She walked in and startled him while he was pulling up his shorts.

“Whoa! You scared me. Don’t you knock?” Derek’s breath was rushed.

Raina nodded back to the front door. “It was unlocked, so I just came in,” she said as she walked over toward Derek taking her eyes up and down over his half-dressed body.

She put her arms around him and gave him a kiss and one that he could not fight back. She shoved Derek on his bed and undressed with a crooked smile.

After undressing, she crawled onto the bed and straddled him as he lay there with a shocked look. His cheeks were flushed, and his mouth half-open while his eyes surveyed her naked body. Her pale white skin glowed in the dimmed bedroom, and her black hair seemed to disappear within the dim lighting. Right below her naval was an upside-down pentagram tattoo.

As Derek stared at her body, his chest moved up and down with his rushed breathing.

He spoke, but Raina interrupted him. “Shut up.” She leaned over him while taking her hand on his chest and pushing him down. She put her mouth over his and gave him a long and slow kiss, and as she pulled away, she held his bottom lip between her teeth and bit just enough to make him groan.

Beads of sweat came down his face from his hairline as she continued to ravage him while he lay helpless. She jerked his shorts off his body, pulled her black lace panties down, and kicked them off. She crawled back over his body, straddling him while she pinned his wrists into the bed.

With ragged breathing, she smiled with delight between her deep kisses. The pair continued to enjoy each other for quite some time before Brian returned home.

Amelia and Gabe waited for Raina to return and she paced back and forth, looking at her wristwatch, and her energy was affecting Gabe.

“Amelia, please! You have to sit down. It has only been an hour, let’s just grab something to eat while we wait on Raina.”

Amelia put her arm down and sat down on the couch. “I know, Gabe. I am sorry. I can’t see what took her so long to get here. Unless she went to see Derek. Let’s go to the apartment and grab something on the way. I am hungry. I am sure Brian is worried about me, anyway.”

Gabe rolled his eyes with a smirk. “Why don’t you text him? Let him know you are okay. I think you are worrying too much.”

Meanwhile, Raina was still straddled on Derek. After hearing Brian come through the front door, hollering out for Derek, she smiled and put her hand over Derek’s mouth. Brian came to Derek’s door and knocked. “Hey man, you in here? After a few more moments, Brian opened the door to see Raina naked straddled on Derek. “Whoa!

Whoa! I am sorry!” Brian slammed the door shut and went to the kitchen with a flushed face.

Derek pushed Raina off of him. “Why did you do that? You knew the door wasn’t locked!” Derek was getting his shorts on while he looked at Raina in confusion. “Did you want him to see us?”

Raina continued to keep an innocent smile. “No, I just didn’t know if you were ready for everyone to know about us, yet.” Raina shook her head in confusion.

“I am not worried about that. I meant what I said. I just am not into any dudes seeing a girl I am with, naked. Not even my best friend, okay?” He tossed her clothes back to her as he stood at his door, “Here, get your clothes on and come out.”

Derek left Raina to herself to get dressed, and he went out to talk to Brian. While she was getting her things around, she looked and saw some missed text messages from Amelia. One mentioned they were leaving Gabe’s to come over to Brian and Derek’s apartment. Raina grabbed her bag and opened up the bedroom door to find Brian and Derek softly speaking.

Derek said, “Where are you going?”

“I need to get back to work.” She took off down the stairs of the apartment before Derek had time to find out where she was going. Before he could shut the door, he saw Amelia and Gabe had just pulled in, and they were speaking to Raina.

Derek hollered at Brian to come to the door. “Hey man, your girl is here, but she is with some guy, and they are talking to Raina. What is going on?”

Brian shook his head. “I don’t know, but that must be Gabe. He just works with them. No big deal. Amelia ran out of here, saying that she needed to take care of something, and she would be back. I guess she is back.” Brian took a chug of his water and walked away, leaving Derek suspicious, and staring outside.

Brian looked at Derek and said, “What is it?”

Derek closed the door and walked to the couch to sit down. “I don’t know, I like Raina, she is different, but there is something off about her. I feel like she is hiding something.”

Brian snorted, “Man come on. You need to decide. She is different, you knew that. But so is Amelia. But she and I are hitting it off. I am taking her to my parent’s place. She and I will have a weekend alone together. Maybe you two could come out the last day we are there and just hang out for the afternoon? I know Amelia wouldn’t mind. Maybe you both need to get away like Amelia, and I do?”

Derek got up and walked toward the window to see that they all were still outside in the parking lot talking. “I guess. I don’t know.” Derek scratched his head. “I’ll let you know later.”
