Summary

BOOK TEN of the Forever Knight Series excerpt: “You’re uncommonly fast.” “So I’ve been told.” Savage grunted. “Who are you, Boy?” He straightened, but there was no anger on his ace. "Not anyone’s Boy." “Who are you?” “Deragan Black.” “The Captain.” Savage said straightening. Face unreadable. “Some would say. And you are?” “Do you wish to fight or talk?” Savage queried. “If fighting is what you wish, then so be it.” Deragan’s tone was calm. Nearly too calm. No fear of the unknown in this man. Deragan moved toward him to attack but Savage blocked his arm with his own fist clenching a blade. Careful not to cut the Captain, he dropped the blade and caught it in his other hand But before he could nick Deragan again, he’d caught Savage’s arm and wrenched it. Before it could snap, Savage rotated the arm to keep it in line with his body, switching hands with the dagger again to spin it as he caught the one in Deragan’s hand with his other. Both hands busily doing different maneuvers, drew Deragan’s attention. Deragan was composed, staring at the younger man, totally unarmed. His eyes narrowed. “You were trained by Chavias.” Savage straightened and dropped both daggers to the dirt. “You mimic his techniques expertly. Again I’ll ask, who are you?” He didn’t bother denying what the Captain so clearly knew. “Most call me Savage Jack.” “The King of Assassin’s.” Deragan supplied.
