Chapter 11 - He Didn't
Dedicated to oddball and N.Y.O.B. Thanks for following me in my journey writing books. I'm glad you have enjoyed them enough to read all of them thus far.
Draco started laughing, all of us laughing with him. He snorted a few times and chuckled again. “So, how long is the fool going to be knocked out?”
“He should come to his senses, well, maybe not his senses but he will come out of it in a few seconds,” Kaley answered as she squatted down.
The fool came to and sat up, looking at Kaley. Kaley grabbed his face. “Next time you touch me I will remove your manhood with my claws. Do you understand?” She shook her hand and brought it to his face, causing the man to go pale and back up from her as fast as he could.
“Yes, yes, ma’am,” he answered as he moved away quickly. He didn’t turn his back on her, not one time. He knew a dangerous predator when he saw one.
“Uh,” Kaley dropped down, her body shaking, her fist clenched, and her eyes closed. I knew what this was and I knew why.
“What’s wrong with her?” Draco asked panic in his voice, a question I didn’t bother to answer.
I leaned down to Kaley and placed my fingertips on her forehead, closing my eyes to concentrate. What I saw shocked me to my toes. I didn’t expect it and was thrown out of Kaley’s mind quickly. I shook my head a couple of times to get rid of the blinding headache I had but it didn’t help. I knew better. I had needed to back out of Kaley’s mind slowly. I felt one of my children touch my forehead, taking away my blinding headache as they kissed my cheek.
I kept my eye on Kaley but I was mad as hell. I wanted to hit something or someone and I knew I would soon. I noticed Kaley’s breathing change into one of pain but I was pushed aside by Draco. Wait, what? Draco? I was surprised to see him talking quietly to Kaley but I didn’t understand why. Why would he jump in and help her?
A few minutes later, Kaley sat up and looked around her, her head snapping over to Draco. I furrowed my brows, not understanding what the hell was going on. He had to be a dragon protector. I had heard of them before but I had never seen the intense emotions of them.
Kaley stood up, turning around to face us. “Wow, Kaley, you are beautiful. And, we don’t look the same anymore. You look like Mom but dad, too.” And, she did. She had my blonde hair but hers were streaked with a dark blonde. Her face shape was her dad's except for her mouth - which was mine. She had filled out in the chest, making her my size or a little larger - Goddess bless her. She was beautiful but all my kids were.
Kaley nodded and teleported over to Hailey, whispering something in her ear. I couldn’t read her mind. She had erected a huge barrier and if anyone tried to tear it down she would have pain so bad she would be ill for weeks. All of sudden, Kaley and Hailey were gone. I knew where they had gone but the others didn't.
“Uh, can someone tell me what the hell is going on?” Alec asked as he looked around him.
“Uh, can someone tell me, too?” I asked, seriously needing an answer. “Oh, I know where the girls went.” I thought about going after them but I knew they could handle themselves. I sure hoped they shared with the class when they got back. I wanted to be a fly on the wall to watch…
“Summer!” Blaine yelled, grabbing my attention and almost giving me a heart attack. I spun around and quirked an eyebrow at him.
“What the hell is going on?” He asked me as he walked over and pulled me into his arms.
I chuckled darkly. “Remember when the Moon Goddess told Kaley’s mate to behave or he would lose his wolf?”
I nodded my head and chuckled again. “I think the Moon Goddess is giving the girls time to catch him and deal with him first. I have a feeling he won’t be able to have children even after he’s human.”
“That fucker! Let’s go,” Zane surprised me by saying.
I shook my head no. “We need to trust our girls. They can handle themselves and I don’t want anyone to think they need their mommy and daddy helping them. No, this is all them, they’ll share when they get back, plus Kaiden is there in case anything goes wrong.
“Yee of little faith,” Kaley said from behind me.
I spun around. “I told your dad not to worry. He wanted to chase after you, so are you going to share?”
Kaley and Hailey chuckled darkly. It wasn’t a sound I was used to hearing from them but I could tell it applied by their mischievous look on their faces. Hailey gestured for Kaley to go ahead as we waited.
“You know how I can’t hurt my mate?” We all nodded. “Well, as soon as we showed up at the girl's house he was at grandma took away any kind of bond. We walked in as he was calling the girl’s name.” She nodded to Hailey, a blush on her face.
“Well, when he saw Kaley he threw the girl off of him and knelt down in front of her, acting as he hadn’t done anything wrong and we hadn’t caught him with his pants down.” We started laughing.
“I picked him up and threw him against the wall and stalked toward him. He was apologizing profusely but I threw him out of the girl's house as Hailey grabbed the girl and threw her out of the house naked. As soon as she landed she was in front of her mate, begging and pleading for her life,” Hailey said, a smirk on her face. “The whole time we were doing this, Kaley had called the whole pack to us. Kaiden looked amused as did Griffith. The mate of the woman did not look amused at all.”
Kaley giggled. “I reached down and pulled him up by his throat as he was kicking and screaming worse than any little girl I’ve ever heard.” We chuckled. “I didn’t want to touch him anywhere else, so I used my magic to neuter him.” All the men in the room grabbed their junk as we laughed. “Anyway, we were interrupted by grandma and she gave him a short speech and decided he was too dangerous to let live as well as his wolf.”
“We could tell grandma was sad to lose another wolf but she was worried about what he would do with the information he had on Kaley. She didn’t want him to go to the witches and the witches do something to us,” Hailey finished as she hugged her sister.
“What happened to the man’s mate?” I quietly asked as Kaley grinned.
“Well, the man asked grandma to have their mateship denounced. He didn’t want to be with someone who would cheat on him with someone else’s mate, so she separated the bond and decided it would be a good idea to take her wolf and leave. She screamed at grandma, something about going to help the witches. Grandma took her life too. She didn't have a choice.”
“At least she saved her wolf. I have a feeling the wolf is going to go through a lot of paces before she is reborn,” I quietly told the girls. “Now, Hailey, tell me what’s going on with you and Draco.” Hailey looked up at me in shock. “Oh, did you think I would forget what I saw?” I smirked and crossed my arms as Hailey looked at Draco, her eyes widening, a smile lighting up her face.
“Mom, meet my mate Draco. Draco, meet my mom Summer,” Hailey told me as she introduced us. To say I was kind of shocked would have been an understatement, but I understood why Draco could help her out now.
“I knew there was a reason I didn’t char and smoke you when you walked into my room,” Draco told me as he laughed and I scowled. “Just kidding. But, I did feel as if I had known you forever.”
“I felt the same and couldn’t place why.”
“Do you have any more unmated sisters?” Drago asked, a smirk on his face.
“Only Angel but she’s still a baby, so no,” Zane voiced as he held Angel tighter and scowled at Drago. I
