Chapter 29 - You Are Wrong
Dedicated to oddball, PenumbraMINE, Jo Jo Sprout, and N.Y.O.B. Thank you is all I can say.
“We have a problem,” I heard from my security tech.
“What kind of problem,” I asked him as I stood up, helping Kaley to stand with me.
“Come see,” was all he said as he ran back to the security room.
I looked at Kaley, as if to say ‘let’s go’. She teleported us to the security room, beating my tech guy by a few seconds.
“What the hell?” I heard him say as he walked into the room, looking at us in shock.
“Show me,” I ordered, snapping the fool out of his state of shock. He nodded his head and brought up the cameras on the east side of our property. My eyes bugged out of my head, my mouth dropped open. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I blinked my eyes a few times and opened my mouth several times to speak. I was praying to my Goddess to take the image away.
I looked at Kaley, noticing her family had surrounded us and they had the same look on their faces. I saw Kaley nod her head as she looked at me. I heard her tell me a spell that we needed to say. It was an easy one and I hoped it worked. Our people looked as if they were following the pied piper and I could tell they were trying to fight him.
“Take the strings that bind.”
“Twist them to and fro.”
“Taking them away from our foe.”
“Time them to Draco and Kaley.”
“So mote it be!,” we all yelled, watching as the dragons shook their heads and looked around, not knowing what happened. I knew we had bound all the dragons to Kaley and myself. It was a good way to keep them tied to us and for the false god to not be able to get any of our people. I knew he was going to keep trying to take my people. I was tired of his shit and getting really annoyed. This ‘friend’ of mine needed to be taken out and soon.
I let out a breath and looked at Kaley, pulling her in my arms “Thank you, love, you have saved our people.”
“We saved them from being sacrificed,” she whispered, making sure the other dragons couldn’t hear her. I knew she didn’t want to panic them and her saying anything about sacrifice would have panicked every dragon I ruled.
“I know,” was all I said.
“So, are we getting ready for a ceremony or not?” Alpha Summer asked, a big grin on her face.
I chuckled and nodded my head, kissing Kaley on the head. “Kaley and Hailey’s dresses are in your room, Alpha Summer. There will be some of the maids to help her prepare for the ceremony too. We have a ritual that needs to be followed before she puts her dress on, okay?”
“Not a problem. We’ve read the book on the ritual so there wouldn’t be any surprises,” Alpha Summer answered as Kaley kissed me. She walked over to her mom and they left.
I needed our security team to be on the lookout for any problems. I didn’t want anything to happen at our ceremony. We couldn’t stop the ceremony for anything or it could hurt us. I also needed to make sure her family knew about it, too. I had a lot to get done and I was standing around as if I was an idiot.
“I need everyone to be watchful. We don’t want to lose our Luna.” They all nodded and bowed their heads. “This is important to our survival. If there are any problems contact Drago and he will help. Do not come to me with any problem when the ceremony starts, okay?”
“Yes, Alpha,” they all said, bowing their heads to me.
I turned around and left the security room. I stopped outside the door and listened to them talk. I felt as if some one was being true in keeping us safe. I didn’t know if it was intuion or some kind of new power. I wanted to know if any of them had let the false god in.
I waited for two minutes when I heard a woman ask the men if they really wanted a witch to be their Luna. Some of them had hissed at her and told her to shut up. They were mad at her for talking bad about their Luna. But, there were a couple of men who agreed with her. They didn’t want a werewolf and witch to be their Luna. They were mad that she would taint the dragon King’s long line of dragons. They felt as if she was inferior, so here I was pissed as hell and ready to do some damage.
I called Drago on the phone and used the family link to call the rest of Kaley’s family, minus their mother. It was weird to hear them answer back. It didn’t take any of them long before they all stood in front of me. I held a finger to my lips and pointed to my ears. I knew they had heard the same bullshit I had when they lowly growled.
We walked into the room and it went dead silent. I had a smirk on my face and my arms were crossed over my chest. I noticed the others took up the same stance. “So, I heard from a little birdy that you don’t want a werewolf/witch hybrid as my mate. My mate was put down. I heard you thought she would taint our gene pool. What you didn’t do was ask me what our Goddess and hers told me. You didn’t ask, you only assumed.”
“Stand up, Carmen, Damian, and Scholar,” Alpha Blaine ordered. “These are the three who thought your mate was tricking you into thinking she was yours. Carman’s the one who has tried to turn your people away from your true mate. And, they are the ones who let the false god in.”
“Well, we can’t have that now can we?” I looked at the three people, anger and hatred in my eyes. I took a deep breath and calmed myself, not wanting to kill them out of anger. “I’m curious as to why she can’t be the Luna.”
“She’s not a dragon and she can’t bear your children like I can,” Carman spat out. Ah-ha! Now, we get to the bottom of the problem. She wanted to be my mate and was mad that I never gave her a second look.
“Are you sure about that?’ I asked as she nodded her head. “Well, you are wrong. Our Goddess and hers made sure we could have dragon children. And, she made sure that our Luna could fly with us, too.” She gulped. “So, now who looks stupid?”
“She’s still not good enough to be your Luna!” Carman yelled. “I’m so much better than her!”
“Actually, you aren’t. I never gave you a bit of attention because I didn’t like you or the trouble you caused my warrior’s. You are a whore who only stirs up shit.” I told her and watched her face fall. “You are mad because I never laid with you or any of the other women, but you tried to push me every time we saw each other. Wasn’t going to ever happen, so get over it!”
“I’m not a whore! I will soon be the Luna of this pack if I have to kill her to be,” Carman spat out. Her eyes widened and she started shaking, knowing she gave away her plan.
“Kaley, don’t eat any of the food brought into the room, please. We found out a woman was trying to kill you,” I quickly said through our mind-link.
“Yeah, we found the food and teleported back to the woman, Carman, so she will be the one sick and dying soon,” Kaley commented, almost making me chuckle.
“Did you enjoy your food, Carman?” I asked as I backed up to a wall, pulling the others with me.
“What? Why would you ask me that?” She asked.
“Well, it was in the food Kaley found and she added it to your food instead,” I said as I watched her.
“No! She’s going to kill me. She’s the stupid whor…” She fell to the floor on her knees and grabbed her stomach, screaming in pain. No one dared to touch her or to help her. I looked over at the other two and saw them drop to their knees, too.
“Just to let you know, my mate was pure. She never laid within anyone before me. I saved myself for my mate and never touched any woman here or anywhere, so who’s the whore now?” I told them as they screamed in pain. I had to add the last part. I wanted them to know she was worthy of being my mate. I didn’t want my people to treat her any differently, but I knew I would have to have a meeting with everyone before the hatred went any further.
“Well, that was disgusting,” Blaine sarcastically commented, pulling me out of my mind as Damian, Carmine, and Scholar puked and gagged, finally dying a cruel and heartless death.
