Blurb

"Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" These words were constantly blurting out of the little pixie's mouth. It was so irritating, but Areil had to carry on. A sadistic crime lord wants Areil to deliver Nyxx, one of the five main elemental pixies to him. And that's just what he'll do.

The Deal

“Now listen here, Areil,” the man said over the phone, “I need that pixie back tomorrow! I gotta capture all 5 of these elemental pixies, and sell 'em off. It's all about the dough, Dustblood, all about the dough.” I'm Areil Dustblood, in my lineage, we were either hunters, gatherers, or assassins. The man on the phone was irritated, but I wasn’t intimidated. “Alright, alright, fine. I’ll get the pixie to you by tomorrow. I’ll need to cross the Central Border to do so. If I take more than a day, I’m either dead, or dying.”

“Come along, Nyxx,” I called, “We gotta get you back to Bradley Whitehall." I declared, pulling up my hood. "Awe. Do I have to?" she asked. "Yes. I have to get you to him before his goons beat me up again." A grim look came across Nyxx's face. "Beat you up?"

"Uh huh. See this scar?" I pulled up my shirt sleeve to reveal a scar that covered a gash put by a dagger." She winced in disgust. "Ew." I said afterwards, "C'mon I have to pass Cyprus Hill."I took the container she was in and strung it onto my belt. As I approached Cyprus Hill, Nyxx got worried. "Um.. Areil?" she asked. "Yes?" I answered back. "Is this safe?" she was worried. "Of course! I've done this trek thousands of times."

At the foot of the hill, a sign read: "CAUTION! Cyprus Hill is full of rocky and dangerous roads. Enter at your own risk." Nyxx face filled with worry. "So you're sure you're sure this is safe..." she inquired. "Yes. Don't worry." I reassured her.

After a good mile of walking, we started gaining altitude. "Nyxx, this is where we start to go up the hill." Still slightly worried, she replied "OK..." I headed up the side road of Cyprus Hill ,where a stunning obstacle lay. The road was crushed, small bits of the path remain. "Close your eyes, Nyxx. It'll be over soon." Nyxx covered her eyes in fear. I slowly started to walk upon the rocks.

A slight crumbling could be heard under my feet. Don't worry Areil. You've done this before, I reassured myself. Halfway, the rocks I had stepped on crumbled to gravel. Panicked, I rushed to the rest of the path. Bad idea. Before I knew it, I was holding on with one hand on the edge of now a bottomless cliff. With all my might, I raised my other hand onto the cliff side. I managed to pull us both up. "We made it Nyxx, we made it..."

"Woah." she said. "Let's not do that again, OK?"

Christopher Chew: Been a while since reading was this fun. The plot was easy to follow and built at a gradual but good pace. The dynamics between each character were interesting and kept things fresh and exciting, very much so that you would forgive it for not going deeper into the back stories of each character. ...

Stephen Warner: To start off, I am thoroughly impressed. The writing style is somewhat unique, and the plot seemed to move at a nice and steady pace. nikmariecav: I loved reading this book! I was hooked from the moment I started reading. It took me a day to read the whole thing but I didn't want to stop reading. Hawkebat: Playing both Kotor I & II and Swtor I found the story line interesting and it held me until chapter 35 Very good story and plot flow until then, very few technical errors. genlynne2379: I read the other review of this book and I must say that I disagree with it wholeheartedly. I do not believe the author put the apostrophes in the names just to be unique, but because the characters are supposedly of a different race than humans. They are Anmah. They should have different names a...
