Chapter 1

CRISIS BETWEEN STUDENTS AND UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT.

EDUCATION STUDENTS from WITS UNIVERSITY are “starving” due to their allowances not being paid on time by theFUNZA LUSHARKA.

Students have complained that the FUNZA LUSHARKA has failed to pay them any of the allowances due to them since the beginning of the year. This has resulted in them having no meals or books.

A female student, who asked to remain anonymous out of “fear for her future”, said she understood that FUNZA LUSHARKA was under administration by theNational Treasury but she said they were suffering as a result of this.

“They promised us pocket money for food and transport money {TEACHING PRATICALS} but we have not received that,” she said.

Teaching practical are part of the student’s course where they are sent to schools in the Johannesburg area for practical teaching experience, but they have not heard anything from them, it’s silent like a dead person.

The UNIVERSITY was ‘’RUDE’’ to us as students of WITS UNIVERSITY. 4th year Education student, said a representative from the department, who he identified as “anonymous, came to speak to students and made promises they said have not been met.

Anonymous student said this “demonstrates the unreliability and the inconsistency in the WITS UNIVERSITY management system.”

The female student explained that the representative had shown no sympathy for the student’s “The old guy that came to speak to us kept saying we were not performing. When we asked him if we were being punished for that he said no but we must do better,” she added.

‘’ANONYMOUS’’ said: FUNZA LUSHARKA management was very rude and showed lack of respect to the students and had said that ‘money is not a need’ when we asked when are they going to pay for our {TEACHING PRACTICAL} allowance, meals, study materials

AS a journalist I contacted one of the WITSFMF student she told me to come to WITS EDUCATION CAMPUS, that’s where the WITS vice chancellor ‘’HABIB’’ he promised the students won’t be excluded from UNIVERSITY. The UNIVERSITY will find a way to help students to get funds, but as you know the UNIVERSITY lied to students, so early this year WITS SRC promised the parents that the UNIVERSITY will do in their power to help students, to get free quality education said ‘’NOMPENDULO MKATSHWA’’ WITS SRC president.

The ‘’ANONYMOUS’’ female student said she not receiving the bursary money could result WITS students failing their courses.

The university has a rule that states students cannot miss a maximum of two of their teaching practicals. This would result in their exclusion.

‘’ANONYMOUS’’ said the FUNZA LUSHARKA bursary students were failing because they did not have the study materials needed for their studies.

The student explained that last year Wits University had helped other students with money, but had declined to help final year students, not only WITS EDUCATION CAMPUS have this ‘’CRISIS’’ problems.

WITS SRCsaid Wits had refused to help students who need the funding. WITS student said the money as they were unsure whether they would have the money end of the month, but clearly WITS management are playing with students and parents as ‘’HABIB’’ promised to students he will find the money, where or how he didn’t say it.

‘’HABIB’’ said it was important that the students understand the context that the WITS EDUCATION CAMPUS is operating under. “This is not merely a matter between WITS department and STUDENTS.

“The HIGHER EDUCATION MINISTER ‘’BLADE’’ said the students should fall after we protest to UNION BUILDING last year, and again he laughed but nothing has changed. WITS UNIVERSITY hired private company {security} to beat us and chased them out of senate house {Solomon house}

“The WITSFMF and WITSEFF students are suspended and others were excluded from the UNIVERSITY. Not first years only. I do not know how to explain this any further. I mean it’s even been on TV when he promised students. They know the situation they in.

The students who spoke to ME as a journalist said even though the WITS UNIVERSITY management was under administration. The 3rd year student said they were not from “spoiled or rich” families that could help with money.

“I don’t have both my parents. I chose education because the bursary said they would take care of us. Now I ask myself if I should rather have gone to look for a job or stayed at home,” the ANONYMOUS student said.

WITS SRC explained that the money goes through a long process due to budget allocations from theFUNZA LUSHAKAand that it was likely that the money would come in at the end of this week.

The student said the last time they heard from them was in March and they were “being kept in the dark” about what measures to take to help themselves.

Alex Rushmer: This was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it a lot Malfoy was always one of the characters that I liked a lot, so I like that a lot of this happens between him and Colette. I read the first couple chapters, and I enjoyed your writing style and am excited to see where you take this story. My com...

Dina Husseini: It was a great hook. I do not like reading scifi because they end up being like all the rest but this one kept me wanting more.

Lauren Sanby: This is an excellent story. Very gripping and keeps your attention throughout. Hoping the author is writing a sequel because I'd love to read more about Rhi and Andreas and find out what else Rhi is able to do with her powers.

John Smith: This is what Sci Fi is all about. Reads like early Heinlein. In the style of Space Cadets. No esoteric problems..but good ol blaster and space action with a host of relatable characters

263Adder: Okay so I adore this story. I only knocked one star off plot for historical inaccuracies because I'm a bit of a stickler for that. The ending broke my heart though, considering you already changed history couldn't you (SPOILER) change it a bit more and have them together!!!! I want an alternative...

Marijana1: The melancholy present throughout this story has the power to influence and etch into the minds of the readers, to stay there and refuse to leave even after they have finished reading the story. This is a deep, powerful story, making the readers wonder about everything – about love, about their e...

the unedited writer: It's a guilty pleasure. The characters are brought to life and you find yourself loving them worrying for them and so on. The plot was serious but at the same time it had a light tone that didn't make you depressed as other drama genres. 5 stars for me

catd69: Karim is a very talented writer. When I started reading his journey it took me into the book and I was in the story till the end. I've never felt this way with any other writers stories. If you want to read a gripping adventure, this will be the one book I would suggest you pick.

Judy Haun-Morelock: A very imaginative, compelling story that captivates and holds your attention. Just how will the new Joshua deal with all the changes in his life: his appearance, surroundings, new friends and enemies.

Though the plot in some ways reminded me of the Gregory Peck classic leadership movie, "Twelve O'Clock High" I thought the author did a good job overall.
