Blurb

I looked over the rail, resting my chin on my arms. Gabe was dressed in his armor and a pair of tan buckskin pants. He had no shirt underneath the leather chest plate and a sword hung by his side. He looked like a knight without the shinning silver armor. “What do you want, Gabe? I already told you I’m not coming down,” I yelled back. He shook his head and walked up the stairs, entering Fire’s castle. I sighed. Below me just a few yards away, the training ground was buzzing with activity. The sun was rising and I could see the reflection of the rays shine off of the soldiers’ helmets. Arrows flew through the air at command and clunked into their wooden targets moments later at my left. The sword wielders in the sand pit directly below shouted at each other as they stuck and parried their opponents, their quick and agile footsteps making dust clouds rise into the clear air. To my right, horses and their riders sped along the perimeter of the forest until they pierced their targets with lances. I scoffed and stood. If Gabe and Adrianna, or whoever they were, thought I would just play along with this then they were sorely mistaken.

Prologue

I flipped open my cell and read the newest text message.

“Sex is not the answer. Sex is the question. “Yes” is the answer.” Anonymous

I laughed and forwarded it, just like the ten other people in my contacts list had done. Of course it was a joke, but it was a good joke. Hopefully no one would take it the wrong way. But did I really care? I stopped and thought about that for half a second. Nope. Grinning, I climbed out of my car, shut the door, hit the automatic lock button on the remote, and walked towards the school gym.
