Summary

❝Tell me, how can you be a Warrior and a queen?❞ ——— “You and I both know that the second I touch you, we’re not going to make it back to our rooms, or even back inside that building. We’re going to seal our fate right here on this grass, on those stairs, probably even amongst those orchids—again and again and again—until we don’t know where one of us ends and the other begins. And then we’re entwined, we’re bound. No others. No choices. You leave your family, become my Luna, bound to my Pack, to me, forever. Is that what you want?” It took a second for Isla to register his question, her mind drunk on his words, on the picture he’d painted, on the thought of her naked body against his, his lips on every inch of her skin, as he ravaged and had her crying out under the moonlight. It would be more than just mind-blowing sex with a man she barely knew. There would be something else lurking there. A connection, an intensity, a burn so deep and divine, that it would have her begging, despite being completely loveless. She would never know the wonders of that bond with any other person. Never. This was her other half. She could take him, she naively thought for a moment, blinded by the lust. Maybe after she’d gotten to know him, in time, at his simplest. . . But there was no “simple” when it came to an Alpha.

SUMMARY

“Was Fate really so cruel to put two souls together who could only achieve true happiness apart?”

Isla gave up on the idea of mates a long time ago, the notion that plagued her mind in the height of her adolescence now a distant memory. Seeing the sacred bond as a hindrance and vulnerability, she focuses on herself, training for the triumphant day when she reigns victorious in the Hunt and achieves her dream of becoming a Warrior. But the Moon Goddess’s twisted sister, Fate, has other plans, for on the nigh of her glory, he finds her. . . or she finds him. No one truly knows how the wicked witch works.

But what does it mean when the only thing two “destined lovers” can agree upon is the fact they need to have nothing to do with each other? How long can they fight Fate and desire—and who could forget the threat of catastrophic war—before it consumes them both alive?

Author’s Note:

Hello, and welcome to my first ever werewolf story where I (try to) balance a (hopefully) great romance, pack some heat, make you laugh, maybe cry, and take you on a journey I hope you’ll never want to leave. :)

Disclaimer: I took some liberties with the typical werewolf lore to make things my own and be a bit creative, but I made sure not to stray too far. Anything that’s slightly different will be explained. This is also a slow-burn romance.

Please be aware that this is also a first draft, and though I do some quick read-throughs and light editing before I post, there may be some errors that I will catch when all is finished and I’m in revisions (:

Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and I hope you enjoy the tale of Kai and Isla, the Alpha and the Warrior.

All likes, comments, and reviews are incredibly appreciated. I’ve decided to enter this in Inkitt’s contest. ♥

Sincerely,

Morkei.

Ilana1949: Loved it! Easy to read, enjoyable, Great estoy, real, couldn't put it down.

Megan: I think I keep reading because I like the way the author discusses the trauma the main character has been through. You can very much imagine how Lia feels terrible at pulling in others and asking for help. The focus isn’t on the actual abuse as much as it’s focused on the emotional part. I like ...
