Alaric: Jade. Hold on. I’m coming for you, please, just hold on.

I felt her emotions respond to my mind-link. Finally, she was within reach.

Her fear abruptly changed to anger. She was fucking furious. It was so intense, that I started to question if it really was hers, or if it was my own rage consuming me.

I let it push my legs to go even faster.

In my side view, a shadow flew between the trees. It jumped and landed with a groan before the sound of bones snapping filled the dead of the forest.

I soon realized it was a was a small, sand colored wolf. It bolted off again at an insane speed. Left behind was a dead rogue. I tried to follow the wolf’s movements, but it was just too fast. It ripped through the patrols before I even noticed them.

Gregory: Told you.

Alaric: What?

Gregory: I told you she was a force.

Alaric: THAT’S Galina???

He chuckled in the back of my mind.

I skidded to a halt. The little wolf, who was about a third of the size of my wolf, was sat right in front of me. Her entire front part was covered in blood. She was panting as she looked at me, almost with a smile, before she bolted off again.

“I can see you now Jackson said in the earpiece, snapping me out of my daze. “There are two guards at each of the three doors he continued.

I huffed in response, letting him know I heard him.

Marcelo and four of the warriors, ran to the north of the building. Gregory and three others ran to the west. The remaining warriors and I moved towards the south door, keeping a good distance, waiting for everyone to get in place, so we could attack the guards at the same time.

“There are a total of 18 people inside, all in clusters, I’ll direct you to them when you get inside. You’re good to go, I’ll update you if anything changes.” Jackson continued. I huffed again as a copy that.

Gregory: The guards outside are all dead.

Alaric: What? How?

Gregory: Eh, Galina took them down before we got there.

Alaric: Holy fuck, you’re like a fucking ninja!

I heard her chuckle in the back of my mind. We moved stealthily up to the door and saw the dead bodies on the ground.

Alaric: Stay as quiet as possible, two on each team shift and take them out with the knives from the stiffs.

I shifted back to human form and pulled a knife from one of the guard’s weapons belt. We all entered the building and moved silently through the corridors. Most of the people were sleeping, and with Jackson directing us to the right rooms, we made quick work of taking them out.

An ear piercing scream bellowed through the building. I spun around trying to find the source.

“Where are the last ones? I snapped at Jackson.

“The camera says you’re right on top of them he stammered. I remembered Kade mentioning a basement. I sprinted in the direction of where he’d said the stairs were, the others right on my heels.

I tried to keep as quiet as I possible could, while I quickly checked every room I passed.

When I came to the end of the corridor there was only one room left. I took a deep breath as I prepared to open the door. The thought of what I would see on the other side, had me shaking with both fear and anger.

As I reached to push open the door, another scream tore through the building again.

I barged inside and saw a man crawling on the floor screaming his lungs out.

Kade was sat in the corner, hugging his knees as blood dripped down his face, gawking at the screaming man.

My eyes snapped to the other corner.

Jade was sat on her knees, blood covering her face and down her naked chest. She looked up at me and tears started forming in her eyes. I ran over to her and scooped her in to my arms, hugging her tight to my chest. The others came running into the room, but froze at the scene before them. I cupped Jade’s face and searched her eyes.

“Are you OK? Where are you hurt? I asked, my voice about to crack with emotion.

“I’m OK. she sighed and rested her head against my chest.

“But the blood... Where did all the blood... I stressed, running my hands over her body, trying to find the source. She curled herself into a ball on my lap, as she shook her head.

“It’s not mine. she said quietly, burying her face in the crook of my neck.

“Jade, tell me! What happened? Why are you covered in blood? I begged.

Gregory pushed through the people standing in the doorway and walked over to the man on the floor, who was still bawling.

“This, ladies and gentlemen, is the lovely Virion Cane.” he said smirking, as he roughly turned the man over to his back with his muddy foot. Virion’s face was distorted in pain and his body was covered in blood.

Looking around, I saw the entire floor was smeared in blood. I rose to my feet, with Jade in my arms, and walked to the door.

“See to Kade. I’ll be back in a minute. I said before walking to the bathroom I’d seen while searching the building.

I put Jade down on the counter and grabbed a washcloth. After wetting it in warm water, I started gently cleaning the blood off of her body. Then I covered her up with the remains of her nightgown.

“I’m not going to force you to talk, but it would help immensely.” I said softly.

Her eyes snapped up and met mine. “I want to tell you, but I’m scared that you’ll hate me when you find out she said, new tears forming in her eyes as she looked away.

“Kitten. I told you before, and I’ll tell you a million times more. Nothing you do, or say will make me hate you. I said, gently turning her head back towards me and kissing her forehead. She sighed heavily and let the tears roll down her cheeks. I held her close as she cried for a few minutes.

“He… He touched me, and… then something snapped inside me and I fought back. she sobbed. I squeezed her tighter, trying make her feel safer. She took a few deep breaths before continuing. “Then he... He cut… The kid, his face… He cut his face. I couldn’t bare seeing him get hurt because of me, so I gave in. I let Virion do what he wanted. It's my own fault, I stopped fighting. She choked out as she buried her face in my chest.

“Please don’t hate me. she whispered so quietly I almost missed it.

“You’ve done nothing wrong Kitten, you most likely saved Kade’s life. I replied softly. My wolf was itching to rip Virion to shreds, but I pushed him down. Now was not the time.

I stroked her hair until she calmed down a little. “Where did the blood come from? I asked as delicately as I could.

“I bit it off.” she mumbled.

I froze, and pushed her gently away to look at her. “You bit what off? I asked, confused.

“He… He put it in my mouth… I don’t know how, but something in me snapped, and I bit it off she stammered.

I blinked a few times, dumbfounded. “You bit off what? His dick? I asked, my eyebrows shooting up in shock.

“Um… The head of it, yes. she whispered, hiding her face in her hands.

“Oh my holy fuck! I exclaimed, a smile creeping up on my face.

“I don’t know what came over me! I just snapped! she raved and her sobs started again.

I cupped her face and got her attention back to me. “You are one bad ass little Kitten, you know that?” I said, laughing as I hugged her tight.

She pushed me away to look me in the eyes. “You’re not angry? she asked, choking a sob.

“With you? Goddess no!” I swallowed hard. “When you were taken, I blamed myself. I was distort, thinking about what he would do to you. It would've be all my fault. I didn’t expect you would fight back like this! I said, closing my eyes and letting out a heavy breath. I felt her arms wrap around me and pull me to her. “I am so proud of you! I whispered, tipping her head to meet my gaze.

I smiled warmly at her as I gently stroked her cheek with my thumb. “After everything you’ve been through. You protected that kid. You stood up to your abuser, fought him and you won! I said, looking at her, my eyes filled with adoration. She started tearing up again and a smile finally appeared on her beaten, but still so beautiful face.

Moving slowly, I cupped her face and pressed my lips softly to hers. She melted into the kiss and wrapped her arms around my waist. I reached my hand to the back of her head, sliding my fingers in to her hair. My tongue joined the dance, and she open letting me in without a second of hesitation. I heard her breathing become heavier. I felt my desire grow at the sound, but I pushed it down. I kissed her hard, one more time before pulling away.

Now, what do you say? You want to go deal with the shithead?” I asked her with a big smile.
