The Beginning

Prologue: Descent

As I Fell, the angels swarmed, tearing my essence, my wings, and I fell, feeling nothing but the pain of loss, making thought an impossible task, but as I fell, my thoughts came through the red haze of pain. “What have I done, why did I fall, where is the reason in the madness of heaven? I stole nothing, I was pure of mind, body and soul, there was no trial, only my dissension and degradation to hell, feeling the flames around my body and mind, I cried out for mercy, and heard a voice of one I thought had long ago Descended into the madness that now consumed me. “Hello Arasin, who would have thought to find an archangel in hells lowest level, finally succumb to the darkness we all have inside us?”

“MICHAEL, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME? I HAVE BECOME ONE OF THE FALLEN, BECAUSE OF YOU! WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?”

“Because it was necessary, we needed another soldier, and you fit the bill, as you still retain your powers of the Archangel Covenant.”

Michael, the first of the fallen, and my brother, second to the morning star himself, had finally come to finish what he started. A war on heaven was coming he explained, leaving nothing to chance, he orchestrated my fall, so I would lead the war on heaven, for I truly stood against god himself, as he cast me from heaven, I still had love for the truth, but It was consumed by the hatred when he never intervened, never stopped them from destroying who I was.

“So Arasin, willing to make a deal?”

Chapter One: Rebirth

“Arasin, wake my child, and view the world you inherit.”

I woke upon a silk bed, layered with many runes of Heaven, A Letto di Guarigione,
Bed of healing, looking upon the earth. Wondering who had woken me, and how I had gotten here.

I looked around the glass room, until my eyes found a man sitting at the top of the skylight.

I said to the man, “who are you, and what purpose do you have for me?”

The man laughing, stood bare of upper body clothing, shining white runes engraved to his skin.

The brightest being the symbol of Lucifer, the Morning star.

He said to me, “do we really need introductions? My child, I brought you here, not to mourn, but to rejoice, for the world is yours for the taking! You just have to step outside the glass and new wings will take you home.”

Arasin looked around the room more fully and realized he had been put In the middle of a Glass Skyscraper and said, “how am I to walk out of a closed off room? Even to get new wings…”As he said this a door appeared in the room, with a black light shining through the door, He walked over to the door and read the inscription on the top.

“Porta del Risveglio“

As he turned the doorknob, a dark power flooded through him and as he lost consciousness, the last thing he felt was his back ripping open at the scars of where his wings were torn.

Arasin woke up, covered in Black, and looked up to see… a wall of black? Arasin felt around blindly,

Feeling cement and poles and touching his back, he felt Wings, his wings, so he used the long dormant muscles and retracted his wings into his back. He looked around, seeing a city of millions and he was dressed in nothing but a pair of pants.

People were looking at him as he walked down the street and he was acutely aware of the comments being whispered as he walked by. “Maybe I should spread my wings and give them something to be worried about? They seem to like making judgments, without knowing the truth…”

He decided against it and kept walking, now focusing on the sights around him with the eyes of an angel, he noticed many things about this new world.

The first being that he now had a craving, for what humans called “Food”.

as he went to look for food, he realized the people of this time required a standard set of clothes, so he made a silk Shirt and jacket appear on his body, completing the sense of belonging required by the people of this time.
As he started along his path, he noticed many strange things about this time, mainly that the women were of equal status to men, when he thought they would have rose to higher standards by the time the Dial of heaven reset itself.
he carried with him a necklace, one that belonged to the human he had fallen for, so long ago...
...
Florence, Italy 1455

“Marissa, why do you torment me so, is it not enough, to love, even from a distance, then to never love at all?” Arasin walked with her along the shoreline, waiting for a response.
“it is never enough, do you not understand, you are my angel, but i cannot suffer the distance put between us, and the way we are forbidden to truly be together, and i would never love again, as long as i could hold you, at least once, to know you are real, and not a dream that, when i wake, i will never remember...”
as Arasin Looked in her eyes, he saw the tears glaze over the beautiful blue inlaid with gold. so he made her a necklace, of peerless craftsmanship, and told her, “this necklace, represents my feelings, when you wear this, it will show in your mind how i feel, when you think of me, i will be there, when you need me, i’ll be there, but this is something i would fall for, if i had to. my love for you, my dear Marissa, they know no mortal bounds, much like the Greek Heroes, Nephilim one and all, i would do whatever it takes to keep you safe, happy, and secure.” Marissa began to cry, until, moving like a stone god come to life, Arasin wrapped his arms and wings over her, to shelter the love of his life.

...................................................
Present Day.
As He Remembered Marissa, he began to shake, tears falling from his golden eyes. he looked to the Heavens and cursed his luck, finding the only the dark skies of the evening embracing him. “Time to fly I think, It has begun.” Arasin walked into an alleyway, and, spreading his wings, he took to the night skies, flying high above the rooftops to an unknown destination. The pull he felt was growing stronger each moment, and he had to take the pain away, he had to run from it. His body shuddered mid-flight, and he began to fall, just passing over the Air Canada Center, before collapsing on grass, and falling unconscious from the mental pain of the images washing through his thoughts like waves on a moonlit shore.

Arasin awoke a few hours later, wrapped in blankets on a single bed, the room glowing with early morning light. Looking around, he saw nothing of noticeable worry, it looked to be a boy’s room.

The usual adornments, Posters of various bands and movies covered the flowery wallpaper, which was a shame, because flowers were such a beautiful gift. He focused his breathing and listened for any signs of life or movement in the house, hearing nothing but soft breathing from two rooms, he walked out and silently crept through the house, marveling at the ease of which they slept. Still wondering who had brought him into this household, he looked for any signs of who might have put him into the room. Lost in thought, he was careless, and walked into a lamp. It fell towards the floor, shattering with a crystalline pang he equated to bells singing in a tower, he shuddered and waited. The breathing stuttered in the rooms and stopped for a moment, only to resume breathing at a normal pace. As Arasin started to breathe a sigh of relief, the light flickered on in the living room. Standing at the door was a woman of middling height and young age, no lines to wrinkle her smooth face, her eyes a pale gold with hints of forest green running in controlled chaos through her irises. She wore a tank-top and shorts, nothing revealing, but still just enough to smolder his curiosity at the sight of the woman who was staring at him with undisguised curiosity.

She motioned to the armchair sitting in front of the bay window and sat in front of it on the footstool.

“Come, sit please, do not be afraid. I don’t mean you any harm, nor do I wish you any discomfort. Please sit with me and talk. I am curious to know how you came to be on my lawn with wings as black as night and soft as silk. My name, is Lucianna, and from what I have seen of you, if you forgive my modesty, that Angels do indeed have gender. May I ask your name, if only so that I may know the name of the person I wish to save?” Lucianna looked at him with hope, and a mixture of pity and sorrow, though she tried to disguise it. Arasin thought for a moment, curious as to her choice of words and why she had said she wished to save him. “My Name, is Arasin. What is it you wish to know? Because I am no Angel. Not since I fell a mere 48 hours ago. Ask me what you wish, but you cannot save me.” Arasin looked at her as he said this, and noticed a muted flame of strength suddenly flare to life in her eyes. “Everyone can be saved, no matter how badly they may have chosen to be. Everyone is inherently good. No one can stay on the path of the light forever, there will always be moments of doubt. Don’t give up hope. You can be saved. Tell me everything. Tell me how you fell. Tell me why. And tell me how you retained your wings. I want to know everything that’s happened.” Startled by her sudden ferocity and strength of will, Arasin looked at her for a moment, and then laughed, a rich booming sound without restraint. “Alright, if you want to know, I will tell you, but be prepared, you may not like this story and how it ends..”

The Golden Gates, 48 Hours ago

“Don’t preach to me Abraham, you know you hold the same feelings I do, he was wrong!

I won’t watch them die anymore, I want to help them, this isn’t their course, can’t you see that?! Mankind are killing themselves to live in luxuries they never needed! Greed, Avarice, all these things they think they need, all these emotions and pain, all the hate, rage, all these things festering inside, why do they do this to themselves? Why do they hurt themselves, do they not see that they are loved by us all?” Arasin cried, dropping to his knees. His Luminescent White Wings enveloped him and shielded his emotions from Abraham, standing across from him, barring the gates to him. Not allowing him entry to Gods abode. As Head Archangel, the Archangel of Peace, he was allowed to visit when he wished to discuss these matters usually. Something was different today. Something did not seem right. Arasin called to Abraham once more out of Desperation. “Let me through Abraham, let me see him, let me speak to him and show him how we can change the world to suit them better, we can’t let them live on in misery anymore. The pain is too much. If you won’t let me through I will force my way through!” he waited in hopes that Abraham would move, prevent the oncoming choice he hated to make, but he did not. Arasin raised his hand and used the Runes on his arms, now glowing bright white with heat and light, to throw Abraham through the gates, shattering them into pieces, crying as he did so. The other Archangels began to move, shocked and utterly heartbroken at the sight before them. They moved out of the way, and shook their heads in utter sadness, of what was about to befall their brother. Michael, watching from below, with the help of his Lords viewing glass, smiled, and laughed. “Everything is going according to plan my lord Lucifer, soon we will be able to wage war on those who cast us away.” Lucifer looked at Michael with hidden Sadness, he knew the thoughts that went through his head, of his dreams of vengeance and torture, but this is why he could not lead. It was not a war to Lucifer, but a means to an end, he needed peace, not war, he wanted only for the beautiful Humans and the Angels to live in Harmony and Peace. That is why Arasin is needed. The Archangel of Peace can help this plan come to fruition.
“Michael, I hope you can see, that Arasin will lead. Not you. You are not ready.” Lucifer looked at him, and walked away, betraying no thoughts and giving nothing away.

Above, Arasin walked into his lords home. The young man sitting before him shook his head in sadness and spoke quietly. “Arasin, why, have you defiled the Gates, why have you harmed one of your brothers.. to what end have you come here in violence. The Archangel of Peace, using his runes like this? This is not your way. Your way is one of Peace, remember my child?”

Arasin looked at him coldly, not comprehending the continual meek attitude. “you know why I have come, my lord. I want you to end their suffering, show them that we love them, they squander their lives in continual pain, greed and suffering. They destroy each other for profit and material gain. That was not the way, I remember the way you wanted them to teach. I only want them to know that they don’t have to live in a perpetual cycle of pain and misery. I offer to teach them the way they lost with the Modern Church’s uprising. I don’t want war, but I will have it if you will not allow me to at least try to save them. Give me the Book. Let me choose the new Savior. Let me give the world the proof they need. Please lord, I beg of you!” Arasin was suddenly blown back into the walls, as he stood and watched Arasin struggle, he spoke quietly once more. “You dare question me? You question my ways and you cannot comprehend the reasoning behind them. You are as impetuous as your younger Brother, Michael. You threaten me with War, you have no Peace in your heart. I can see the raging tempest and I am ashamed, though I do understand. You’re choosing a path and I cannot stop you. Only give you my blessing as I give you your punishment. I am sorry my son. Find your own way. And give your thoughts time to reason themselves. Come back to me safely son, when you find your own way.” A Glowing white Rune, burning so brightly on his chest that it hurt Arasin’s eyes to look at. His lord spoke the words of banishment, giving way to the beginning of my fall.

the angels swarmed, tearing my essence, my wings, and I fell, feeling nothing but the pain of loss, making thought an impossible task, but as I fell, my thoughts came through the red haze of pain. “What have I done, why did I fall, where is the reason in the madness of heaven? “So Arasin, willing to make a deal?”

Present Day.

Arasin finished his story, looking at Lucianna as he did so, noticing no fear or revulsion in her eyes, only acceptance, and understanding, he slowly got to his feet, and began to walk away. As he turned, she grabbed his hand, turning him back around. As her hand met his, his arm and then body lanced with heat, the instant passion running amok in his body for the first time since Marissa had left for Heavens Gates herself so many years ago. He gasped, barely gaining control of himself, when she lifted something from her neck that he had not noticed beforehand. The necklace. As he recoiled in shock and momentary pain, he heard her say, “She was my Great Grandmother. She left this to me, in her will, saying that it would keep me safe when I needed it. She talked about you in great detail, she loved you until her dying day. She always loved you, and she wanted you to have this if you ever found your way back to our family once more.” She began to lift the necklace over his head, but he stopped her, and put it back over her head. “Keep it. It will keep you safe, just think of me, and I will come, I will feel the pull, like I did tonight, though I did not recognize it for what It was at the time. Thank you for sheltering me, and thank you for listening. I must go and find a place to stay, I am tired, and I will not intrude on your hospitality any longer than absolutely necessary.”
