Neela’s story is perfect for fans of Twilight and/or Shape of Water. It is set in modern times on a tropical island rich in myth and mystery. Neela is peculiar for the island, but relatable to the reader. We meet her at age 18. She is longing for adventure but hesitant to leave the familiar behind. One night she meets someone that brings much more to her life than she was seeking. Cheveyo is the fantasy of anyone drawn to the strength of an alpha male and the mysterious nature of a stranger. He holds many secrets close to his heart but can’t stop himself from revealing them to Neela. His truth will make a love between them forbidden in his world and against the natural order of things in hers. Will she be able to accept him as he really is and defy all others to be together…

I’m absolutely certain that I’m going to tell you the story of Neela. I’m less certain that you will believe it to be true. I suppose that’s okay and even reasonable, considering how unbelievable it will seem. Unlike most true stories, which seem like they could happen to you, this one certainly could not. You could conjure up many arguments against the trueness of the story, and I’m sure you will, but it still won’t make it any less true. It will just make it that much more unbelievable, and unbelievable is not the same as untrue. Many things that are unbelievable turn out to be true.

This is the true but totally unbelievable story of Neela.
