Chapter 24

Standing up I stared at his dead body. Blood was still oozing out of his neck, soaking into the sand. I couldn't believe I did it.

I walked towards the sea. Adrenaline slowly leaving my body. Stopping in front of the sea I sat down and held my knees closer. My head rested on top of my knees. Uncontrollable tears rolled off my face.

I listened to the wild waves that were crashing into the shore. A sense of relief filled my heart. I was finally free of him and I could breathe with ease. Now he wouldn't be able to hurt anyone.

My thoughts went to Luca. Would he be happy I avenged everyone? If I didn't kill him I would be still in that room locked waiting for him to use me again.

What now? Where am I going to go? I needed to find Sin. I hoped he was alive and well.

I sat on that beach for what felt like hours drown in my thoughts. I soaked up the sunshine and salty air. I had my eyes closed and my head leaned back. I concentrated on the sea when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I froze and my eyes widened. I pulled away from the person behind me and quickly turned around holding one of the knives I had, ready to fight.

Black eyes stared at me, they were twinkling with pain and misery. At the sight of them, my body relaxed and I let out a long exhausting sigh. Sin was kneeling in front of me.

"Sin!" I exclaimed.

He gave me slight smile. I threw the blade away and leapt towards him. I put my hands behind his neck and hugged him tightly. He moved his arms around my waist. I inhaled his scent and happiness enveloped me. I smiled into his shoulder.

We pulled away but he still held my waist. I connected my forehead to him "I love you, I don't know what I'd do if I lost you" he said with a shaky voice.

"I love you too" I mumbled looking into his eyes. He smiled wide and I couldn't resist kissing his lips. The kiss was sweet and gentle and I was savouring every second of it.

Once we pulled away I stood up and glanced towards the house. Erik's werewolves were checking around, he was on his knees facing Torben's son holding him by his shoulders and talk to him. I saw the boy wiping his face.

My eyes shot toward Torben's body, it was gone. There was only a deep red patch in the sand.

"Where's Torben's body?" I asked turning to Sin.

"Erik had him removed. He didn't want Thorin to see him"

"How did you killed all of them?" He inquired as he cocked his head to the side and narrowed his eyes at me.

"Well," I cleared my throat "I drank werewolfs blood. It gave me so much power, much more than human blood would" I nervously bit my lip. As far as I knew, no vampire ever drank werewolf blood. A vampire had no idea of the power it would give them.

He was staring at me with wide eyes and his eyebrows shot high on his forehead. I giggled at this facial expression.

From behind us, I heard Erik's voice "you better keep her on leash Sin" humour laced his deep voice.

We turned around to face him. He was there standing alone. "How are you, Reine" his voice tinged with concern. And he opened his arms to hug me. I leaned into his warm embrace. "I'm ok now"

"Looks like we're late for the party" he gestured for the house full of the dead werewolves

"If I knew you were coming, I'd leave a few of them for you"

"I'm sorry it took us so long, Sin was badly injured and to find this place took us ages." Said Erik, a pang of guilt glistened in his eyes.

"I managed," I said shrugging my shoulders.

"We better get out of here" suggested Sin. I nodded in agreement.

Few days after we returned to Erik's territory I and Sin decided to leave. It was a new beginning for us. We were madly in love and wanted to find a new home.
Erik insisted that we were always welcome in his pack but Thorin was now a member of his pack and I felt uncomfortable staying there knowing I killed his father.

I stood in the back garden of the house I used to call home, staring at the graves of my family. Sin stood next to me holding my hand as tears slowly ran down my cheeks. "I hope you found your peace," I said quietly. " I will always love you, always in my heart" my voice shaky. I placed flowers on each grave. I stood there for few minutes reminiscing over everyone, a small smile appeared on my face. I would always have memories of them and no one would ever take them from me. I glanced at Sin and have him nod. We both turned around and left.

Erik was selected as the new ruling Alpha of Europe and with that, he stopped all human slavery. Vampires and werewolves were equals. Life was for once good.
Me and Sin travelled across Europe. We got a few invites from other clans but we were set on travelling and seeing the world. Who knew what's going to bring us the next few years or decades.

The end.
