Hayley's P.O.V

The past week went better than I expected. It was mostly Netflix and chill with the girls, singing, going to clubs or steamy make-out sessions with Damien. We both got know each other a lot better. Apparently, tame people were supposed to be always be taking care of wild people so I’m standing in front of Damien’s front door holding a box of homemade brownies. I was wearing a pair of ruffle, floral shorts and lollipop pink die hoodie. He was extra-stressed because he had a lot of work to finish as the Prince.

I knocked.

“Come on in, Cupcake. It’s open,” Damien called. I opened the door and walked in. He was sitting on one of the sofas, shirtless and wearing only a pair of black joggers. Can he get anymore sexier?

“You know, there’s these things called shirts you should try them on,” I commented when I finally stopped staring.

“If I use those, then you’d stare less often,” he whined causing me to chuckle.

“Anyways, here you go. I made them myself,” I said as I held out the box of brownies to him.

“Ok, how’d you know that I loved these?” he questioned me.

“Turns out, our Bonds really do have mouths the size of black holes!” I exclaimed smugly. Damien burst out laughing. It was nice to see him just relaxed. “So… What have you got there?” I asked feeling suddenly curious.

“Oh, these?” I nodded. “Stupid papers,” he replied.

“If there’s anything involved with Harmonics, I’d say it’s not that stupid. Let me take a look.” I took a piece of paper from the huge pile in front of him and read it. You might be wondering, what is the world Harmonics is? Harmonics is the magic of Harmony. I learned Harmony to take care of Earth and because I was interested in music. Harmonics controls how the realm survives. It controls how fast the birth and death of people, luck and mainly how smoothly everything goes. “Hmm… Seems well but if you increase the melody of sirens in section 56, then you can get rid of the constant birth, that way, people won’t be starving.” His eyes widened at my advice. “What? Is there something on my face?” I asked as I started running my palm along my cheeks.

“No, it’s just that, I’ve been trying to solve that for the past 30 minutes and you walked in here and took 1 look at the paper then solved it. Tell me, what level are you in?”

“Um… Black?” Black was the highest level of power a witch or a warlock can achieve in Harmonics. I apparently was quick enough to learn it.

“What? Why didn’t you tell me before?”

“Because you’re looking at me like I’m the Northern lights!”

“Sorry, but you only started learning powerful magic when you started BD, right? Never before that?”

“Hayley, you can apply for a job as a Harmonics professor in BD!”

“Huh… Never thought of that.”

“Well, think about it if you want. But can you help me with these?”

“Ok… But what’s the magic word?” I couldn’t hold in the snickering and smirk.

“Va te faire foutre,” he said smugly.

I gasped dramatically. Then I burst out laughing to see Damien with a devilish smirk. “Since when did you start learning French?” I managed to gasp out between all of my laughs.

“Well, I did technically stay in Paris for 2 years.”

“Why?” I sat on the sofa beside him.

“I was pretty bored of the paranormal world and of my mother constantly forcing me to study more,” he said sounding pretty annoyed of his mum.

“Hey, your mum is amazing and you know it!”

“You’re just thinking that because she helped you learn Harmonics!”

“I just like her too much. Plus, she makes the best lasagne.”

“I gotta agree with you on that.” He leaned in and we shared a passionate kiss.

After a very hot make-out session (which took 30 minutes) later, my hand was aching because of all the writing.

“Ok, that’s it! I’m not writing with my hand anymore!” I picked up the pen with my mind and continued writing.

“Why am I not surprised?” Damien chuckled.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked feeling a (teeny tiny) bit annoyed whilst rubbing my right hand.

“Nothing, just that you could’ve just started writing with your mind at first but you didn’t. Anyways, how can you write on the paper when you’re concentrating on what I’m saying?”

“Multitasking mind.” I simply shrugged. “When are these papers due?”

“Tomorrow. I was finishing a ton more papers and left the Harmonics for the end. How the hell are you so quick?”

“The writing was what was slowing me down. The answers are all in here!” I said as I tapped my head. He chuckled. If only he knew how much I want to hear that every day…
