I watched the beautiful view of the city from my small, peaceful cottage. Many Wizards and Witches lived in much larger houses and castles of sorts, however I preferred to live in something more close to nature. Which in the gods eyes, was shocking considering I was as close to a god as a human could get.
Only so many humans have the privilege to live in the realm of the gods. Those types of people are a variety of wizards and witches, although due to my power and strength, I was given the title of a wizardress. A witch or wizard with nearly the same power and strength of a god. It was more than just a title, It was a privilege and responsibility, as a wizardress you are in contact with the gods more often than others, it’s the responsibility of the said wizardress to take care of the other magical folk. To make sure they didn’t encounter the Shifts, who were demons impersonating a god or even a wizard or witch. Several would be seen from time to time, but they would be caught before any real trouble could occur."Florist!” My youngest sister, Florian tugged on my dress, her amber eyes held distress in them, I gave her a confused look before she spoke once more. “Foral is in trouble!” she cried, mentioning the middle child of us three sisters. My eyes widened in shock before tumbling to get my sword and a woven bag, holding medicine vials for various sickness’ and injuries. A cold, a scrape, broken bones, a headache, head injury, sprains, torn muscles, and much more. It wasn’t that Floral wasn’t a great witch like Florian, It’s just that witches and wizards can’t heal themselves, they must be taken to a magical person that specializes in medicine.
“Where is she?” I snapped. Florian trembled. “In the main village” she cried violently into a pillow, I looked at her with pity. She was scared so easily not to mention she was overly vulnerable after our parents died in a tragic incident with the Shifts. I sighed, wiping some stray sweat from my forehead. “Stay here, get her bed ready for when we get back” I told her sternly, running out the door.
My green eyes held determination in them, the wind wove threw my dark brown hair, licking my ivory skin. I looked towards The Main Village before I began sprinting as fast as I could down the cobble path. “La meg løpe som vinden” I screamed, I felt myself speed past the few shop keepers, it was a good thing the wind was strong today, otherwise I might not be running at all. I jumped over a few bumps and objects in the road, not sweating at all, the wind was cold this afternoon for early November. It was usually warm, not unless something bad was happening.
“Florist! Wizardress Of Asgard!” A elder male voice called out, I stopped and turned around to see The King of the gods, Odin. I bowed quickly. “Hello your gracious, I’m sorry but I must be on my way... Floral is going to” I was cut of by the stern king. “Come with me... I have your precious sister being taken care of by that friend of yours, the one whose the black smith in the North village” He waved the subject off. I nodded as he sighed, motioning me to follow him, I did so.
We walked through the village, passing each shop until the landscape slowly faded into a pasture. I looked up at him. He looked off into the distance, he long white beard flowed down his clothed chest. He looked troubled, as the father of the gods and the strongest god of not only war and death, but as well as poetry, the sky, wisdom and most importantly, magic, it wasn’t normal to see him so troubled unless war was to come. He looked at the sky with sadness swimming in his eyes. I sent a confused glance towards him when he looked at me sternly once more.
“Loki has sent out more of the Shifts... I don’t know what he’s exactly planning but whatever it is, it’s not good.. If he’s greedy for power again... all our lives are at state” He sighed, the sadness turning into rage. I couldn’t blame him for being enraged due to this situation. Loki was a major god who was nothing but trouble, he created The Shifts, he’s a shapeshifter himself and once turned himself in a mare and gave birth a eight legged horse named Sleipnir who is currently Odin’s favored horse. He has three other monstrous children named Hel, the ruler of the Hel realm, a literal two faced girl, half of her is beautiful and lively and the other half of her is dead and rotting. Fenrir, he’s a wolf and a robust one at that, he’s a wonderful fighter, but he’s terrifying. Jörmungandr is the Midgard Serpent, he surrounds the earth, where the mortals live. The three siblings that no intentions to cause trouble. They are nothing like their parents, Loki and Angerboda, they are more mature and calm.
We both looked at the sun setting on the golden field. I knew right then, this was the last peaceful day that Asgard would see in a while.
