Chapter 8

The Next Morning

Alexa did not sleep much more as she had felt fully rested. She had spent most of the night in her room reading. Once six o' clock came she walked out.

She walked to the dining room. Kerri was just getting up; she just walked into the hallway as Alexa did.

"You are up earlier than usual." Kerri said.

"I slowed time during my sleep." Alexa said.

Alexa walked to the living room while Kerri went to the kitchen to make breakfast. Within minutes, breakfast was ready. Alexa walked into the dining room.

Kevin came out moments later followed by Kara a minute after. They all sat at the table and began to eat.

"Well, it is going to be a busy day." Kara said.

"What do you mean by that?" Kevin asked.

"Future-Alexa told me about David's plans for the day."

"She didn't tell me." Alexa said.

"I wonder why; she must have her reasons. She told me to protect the president and vice president." Kara said.

"She told me to go to school." Alexa said.

"Maybe you will find your mission there." Kevin said.

Alexa sighed wishing she knew for certain if her future-self would contact her. She realized though her future-self would have her reasons for waiting.

"You're right, I should trust my future-self." Alexa said.

"I have to go if I am going to save the president." Kara said.

Kara finished her food and got up. She walked to the balcony and opened the door. She saw the railing sitting there flat on the floor.

"The railing broke when I leaned against it last night." Alexa said.

"It is my fault I leaned against it first, I still learning to control my strength." Kara said.

"I fell down with it and caught it with telekinesis. That was when I discovered I could fly."

"You should get to school."

"Alright, I will see you later."

Kara and Alexa walked back inside. Alexa grabbed her backpack and headed for the door. Kara walked over to the couch; she had some time to kill before she had to save the President.

Alexa walked out the door. She walked to the elevator; she had preferred to fly but decided against it since it would draw attention to her.

Once she got out of the elevator she walked to her car. She reached her car and got inside. She started the car and drove out of the parking garage.

The drive to school was uneventful. She arrived at school and walked to the front doors. She saw Nicole and Isabell and walked over to them.

"Morning," Alexa said.

"Morning," they said back.

They walked into the school. They walked through the halls and went their separate ways. Alexa walked to her locker. As she walked she became distracted, she kept thinking about the future.

She arrived at her locker and put her things inside. She turned around and saw Future-Alexa. She was both excited and worried to see her.

"Brian went back earlier than I had initially thought."

"Oh," Alexa said.

"He had the same idea I did; he is training his younger-self as well."

"What should I do?"

"We need to step up our timetable; I need you to go to Dream Industries and destroy the bio-lab."

"You mean destroy the virus?" Alexa asked.

"Yes, and you will most likely see Brian there."

"When should I go?"

"Brian is going to commit a bank robbery to lure you out soon. After that you need to go over to Dream Research Facility. I want you to take my suit, since you will not have time to make your own."

"How did you create one?"

Alexa did not understand the time travel logic. She wondered what would happen if she didn't create; would the suit disappear?

"Colin helped me a few months from now."

"Will it disappear if I don't create one to give to my past-self?" Present-Alexa asked.

"No, think of time as multiple lines instead of one. The suit comes from a different future than the one you will create."

"Oh, it just seems weird that my future-self is helping me."

"I did not have that advantage."

"Which bank?"

"The bank we use." Future-Alexa said.

"He knows our mom will be there."

"Wait for a phone call."

"Wait, why did you warn me?" Alexa asked.

"He kills our mom."

Future-Alexa faded away. With Alexa being shocked by what she just heard. A scowl formed on Alexa's face. She put the suit into the locker. She slammed the locker and walked away.

Alexa began to imagine a scene at the bank. She imagines her mother in her arms with her being powerless to stop it. Brian stands about ten feet away laughing.

The scene around Alexa began to change. She saw the bank around her. She still saw the school as well. Alexa began to smile as she had discovered a new power.

"Spatial Presence." Alexa said quietly.
