Screams...

Blink.

World rolling up and down, up and down, up and down...

Blink.

Sydney’s limp body a few feet away.

Blink.

Chloe’s face smeared with blood. So much blood.

Blink.

A long, jagged shard of glass sticking out of a ribcage.

Blink.

Black boots and a familiar voice. “Shh. It’s okay, my love. You’re safe. I’ve got you. I’ve got you.”

Darkness.

He carefully approached his mate. Her lids fluttered, showing those beautiful, grey eyes which had mesmerized him at the party that fateful night only a couple of weeks ago. He breathed a sigh of relief.

She was alive.

Thank God she was alive.
