8. Counting down and telling the parents

Jamieson’s pov
March 18, 2019

1 hour before the kids reach Blood Moon queendom....

“How’d the calls go?” She asks as I come out of my office, after calling our spy and then our lawyer.

“Good. The kids will be here in a couple hours and the lawyer says they are ours.”

“Yay! I can’t wait to meet my stepchildren!”

“You are going to make an amazing mother, Mara. The kids will love you.”

“I hope so, Jamie.” She says.

“They will. After all, we are married and I am their father.” I lightly kiss her. She pulls away.

“But...” Mara starts.

“But what?” I ask gently.

“But, I’m not your species. I’m a Witch.”

“They will still love you.” I reply, kissing my little witch’s forehead, “I love you so much, my witch.”

“I love you too, my vampire.”

Kayden’s pov

3 hours before Faith’s execution...

Faith? Death? No!

“We must find her.” I say, standing up from the front step.

“I agree.” Andy says. She stands up and then so do Haeden and Alli, they nod showing their agreement.

“Let’s go meet Queen Polli and tell her what happened. Then we can research that address.” Andy suggested.

“Good idea, sis.” Haeden says, he rubs her head, messing up her hair. Andy growls and snaps her teeth at him, he dodges it laughing. I smile with them reminded of me and Faith.

“Let’s go, siblings.” Alli rolls her eyes.

“Siblings.” I say freezing, “That’s part of what Adam said. What if he means you two are supposed to go to the address on Apple lane?”

Andy freezes too, “You’re right. Apple lane? What’s the number?”

“Ummm I think it was 479 Apple lane?” I replied.

Andy’s face pales. Haeden’s eyes widened.

“479 Apple lane?” Haeden whispers, almost too low for me to hear.

“Ya.” I nod.

The siblings gulp.

“I never thought that I would hear that address again.” Andy says.

“Why did it happen there?” I ask, Alli looks just as confused as me.

“Our father used to take us there over the summer. He moved there when he left us.” Haeden says.

“Weren’t you very young when he left?” I ask.

“Yeah, I was just over 30 years old and Haeden had just turned 50.” Andy says, “In human years that’s about 3 years and 5 years.”

“Oh wow.” Alli says. I nod in agreement.

“That means...” Haeden says, “Father has Faith or whoever does is working with him.”

“Why?” I ask no one in particular.

“Alli? Kayden?” A familiar voice asks.

“Mom!” Alli runs up to hug Queen Polli.

“What is going on? Why are Princess Andrew and Prince Haeden here?”

“Well, Haeden is my mate.” Alli says, pulling out of her hug and wraps her arm around Haeden.

“Really? That is wonderful, child.” Queen Polli says, “But that doesn’t explain why Andrew is here.”

“Queen Polli, I’m Kayden’s mate.” Andy says.

“Oh congrats, do you need approval for a transfer? ” She says.

“Thank you, Your Majesty but no, Princess Alli already allowed my transfer.” I say bowing.

“Yes, Mom.”

“Good. I’m proud of you.” Queen Polli says.

“Really?” She says, probably thinking that she was in trouble.

“Of course, you are going to be queen soon and Haeden will be prince. I am glad that you used your power for good.”

“Thanks Mom.” Princess Alli smiles.

“Excuse me for interrupting, but Adam told us that me and Haeden had to an address on Apple lane or Kade’s sister and a werewolf will die!” Andy says.

“Faith? But she’s just a child!” Queen Polli says.

“I know but that is what Adam said.”

“Adam? My son?”

“Yes.” I say.

“I knew that he was going to do something like that. He’s mad and grumpy because Alli is going to get the throne and not him.”

“He took out his anger on Kade.” Andy pipes up.

“Did he?” Queen Polli asks.

“Yes, your majesty.” I say. I turn around and nod to Andy. She lifts my shirt and everyone gasps at the sight.

“I’m sorry that he did that to you. You don’t deserve it.” Queen Polli says. I turn back around. Alli looks mad and shocked. While everyone else is either shocked if disappointed.

“You guys should see Mary and Josh. Andrew needs to meet her mate’s parents.” Queen Polli suggested.

“That’s a good idea. You want to talk with me and Haeden, right?” Princess Alli asks.

“Yes. Princess Andrew and Kayden, the Sandes are in a guest bedroom in the palace. Mary couldn’t stand living in their house without Faith and Josh would follow Mary anywhere.”

“Thank you, Queen Polli.” Andy says.

Queen Polli tells me the room number and we head to their room. I take a deep breath and knock on the door.

“Who is it?” The sad voice of my mother calls out.

“Mom? It’s Kade.” I say.

“Kade? My baby boy?” The door whips open. I see the familiar greying orange hair and lime green eyes... Faith looks just like her except for the graying hair.

“Kade!” She shouts and pulls me into a hug, “I missed you so much, my boy.”

“I missed you too, Mom.”

“Who’s that?” Mom asks, looking at Andy.

“I’m Andrew.” She says.

“Princess Andrew?”

“Yes...” she starts.

“Please forgive me and my horrid manners.” Mom starts rambling and bowing deeply.

“Mrs. Sande? Please stop. Let me explain why I am here.” Andy says, “I’m your son’s mate.”

“Mate? My son has a mate?” Mom stops breathless from her rambling.

“Yes, Mom, this is Andy. We are just friends.” I say, not bothering to tell her how scared I am.

“Oh good,” She says, “Kade. Faith... Faith is... Faith is missing!” She cries.

“I know, Mom.” My voice breaks on the last word.

“Who told you?” She asks, sadder than I’ve ever seen her.

“Princess Alli did, Mom.” I replied.

“Oh, of course she did.” Mom nods sadly.

“Mary? Who is here?” My dad calls from inside the room.

“Oh Josh, Kayden has returned!” Mom says excited.

“Kade? My boy?” The door whips open again and my father steps out.

“Kayden!” Dad yells smiling big.

“Hey Dad.” He yanks me in for a hug.

“I know about Faith, Dad. And Andy and I have news about her.” I say.

“Really? Tell us.” Mom says quickly.

“We should head inside.” Andy says.

Andy’s pov

“All right. All right. Let’s get going.” Mary says. She hurries us into the room. We sit on the couch while Mary and Josh sit across from us.

“What’s the news?” Josh asks the moment we sit.

“Prince Adam left us a message, us being myself, Kayden, my brother and his mate. He said that unless my brother and I met someone at Apple lane, Faith and someone else would be killed. We have 3 hours.” I broke the news to the Sandes.

“Oh no!” Josh yelled.

“Oh honey!” Josh said. Mary had fainted.

“Go. Go find Faith.” Josh sighs, “I’ll deal with Mary.”

“Sorry about the news, sir.” I say.

“It’s fine. Just go, please.” He turns back to Mary.

I grab Kade’s hand and lead him out. He’s been very quiet since I broke the news.

“Kade?” I ask once we close their door behind us.

“Ya?” He says.

“Are you alright?”

“Yeah, I’m fine. Just worried about Faith.”

“Me too, but we’re going to find her.” I say.

“I hope so. Well, let’s go meet up with Haeden and Alli.”

“Ok. Let’s go.”

After finding Haeden and Alli in the kitchen drinking strawberry milkshakes (Yum!), we went straight to business.

“We told the Sandes and they want us to find and save Faith. What should we do?” I ask.

“Well, maybe we should go to that address? We are down to 2 hours till we lose.” Haeden says, not wanting to upset Kade by saying death.

“Here.” Alli hands us each a milkshake.

“Thanks, Princess Alli.” Kade says.

“Kayden, please call me Alli.”

“’Kay.” Kayden says.

“Haeden, I agree that going to the address is probably our best bet.” I interrupt Alli.

Both Alli and Kayden nod in agreement.

“Let’s pay a visit to Father’s house.” Haeden says.

“Let’s.” I replied.
