Death is something no one can escape from. It follows life the way a dog follows his master, the way night comes after day, the way old age follows young. It is inevitable. The world is a place of dual opposites, everything has its own flip side, its own opposition. Like the mighty Greek gods had their opposing giants, and so on and so forth. Well, this fundamental must hold true for the creations of the almighty. Angels have existed since the beginning of the times, but now, they had all faded out. Leaving all but one. The last angel. So, as bad has good, an angel must have someone, an antithesis. So, in a heart wrenching conquest, this angel sets out on a journey to find his opposite. A journey that does a lot of rights wrong, and a lot of wrongs right. A journey that soon evolves into a tale to be foretold to the generations of angels to come, and to generations of humans as well.

Prologue

So, myth says angels don't exist.

Well, I for one disagree. I admit all that going on about us isn't that true. By us, I mean me and the other creatures that together define life. By angels, I mean those creatures with white wings, a form like most humans. In that part you humans have got us mostly right. Except for one thing, we do not belong to one religion. And, we are not messengers of god. We are more like his hands, doing his part to help this world.

Strictly speaking, I really don't know what my function is. I was sent to help life, and I might have met death quite a few times.

Oh, well I have to tell you we are not messengers. Strictly speaking, I am there on the side of life, to follow life. On the way we are allowed to help a few humans here and there.

Throughout the history of religion of all kind, varying kinds and degrees of beliefs have existed in various spiritual beings, powers, and principles that mediate between the realm of the sacred or holy, being the transcendent realm and the profane realm of time, space, and cause and effect. Such spiritual beings may have existed or may exist, and when regarded as benevolent are usually called angels in Western religions, and those viewed as malevolent are termed demons. Well, angels do not specifically belong to a religion. The truth is that all of the texts have got the right idea about the angel, just not the completely correct one. Angels are on the side of life. Not a religion, but life.

You did get one of my other functions right though, we are here to guide human beings, and that is why life sent us. To help the human race, and prevent it from wiping itself out. Wars and wars.

Well, I honestly forgot my manners there, already so many deep words in and I'm sure you are all confused. Well, I am, no one actually named me, so I go by Tim.

Just kidding, that would just be plain weird wouldn't it? I mean Tim the angel? What a wicked joke. Well I am the mighty Eris. Now, Eris means discord in Greek and for those of you who aren't geek enough to know it, it means conflict or friction. Now, an angel is supposed to be the apostle of harmony, not the opposite right? Well, I don't like labels and so I chose this name.

Don't worry, I'm not a deviant, I'm good. And I’m here to help. I'm sorry, but I'm too lazy to tell you anything else.
