1. How it began - Nakano
“Just give up already,” I said, as I rolled my eyes at Eren. He looked like he was having a good time, and his green eyes filled with excitement. We were currently wrestling on a big grassy hill.
He had a playful spirit. Although only 6 years old, he had a great deal of energy. When he stopped struggling, I let go. He then kicked my feet out, sending me down the hill. I grabbed him, both of us squealing hysterically as we rolled down the hill. When we both finally rolled to a stop, i was about to tackle Eren to the ground, but then I felt a loud booming sound. I turned around, and saw a Titan running towards us.We ran up the hill, and I grabbed Eren and put him on our horse. The Titan was so close that it shook the earth. When the Titan saw his prey escaping, he roared angrily. Turning around, I saw the titan was rapidly approaching us, so I hopped on the horse with Eren in front of me.Smacking the horse’s reins, the horse bolted, while seeing us fleeing, the Titan grabbed a nearby boulder and hurled it at us, landing only a few feet away, the force knocking me from the horse, but Eren managed to keep on. I lay dazed on the ground, the wind knocked out of me. I felt a gigantic hand grab around me before I could get back up, and before I knew it, I was being dragged up and into the air.
“Nakano!” Tears streamed down my baby brother’s face as he screamed for me.
“Ride, Eren! Quick!” I screamed as the titan shoved me inside its mouth , and that was the last time I saw my little brother Eren.

I let out a gasp. Is it true that I’m still alive? I pondered. I almost puked as I peeled my eyes open and realized I was within the titan’s stomach. Memories of what had transpired flashed through my head, and I shouted, my heart tearing itself apart, fearing the worst had happened to Eren. My baby brother is no longer with us; he was only six years old when he died, and I was powerless to save him. Nothing would have happened if I had stayed on the horse... My shouts ultimately developed into a deafening roar.
