The Beginning

In a world of Kings and Queens, of Magic and Clans with unimaginable power.

The land was divided into two kingdoms, Animus, and Tenebris.

The land was founded 236 years ago and so sets the date of the current year.

Thirteen years ago (222) the King of Tenebris proposed to unite the Kingdoms by having the Prince of Tenebris marry the Princess of Animus. The King of Animus would not allow his daughter to be married and stated that his daughter was in too ill of health to even step outside.

This news angered the King of Tenebris. His son then sent another message to the King of Animus informing him that he was lead to believe the Princess had a clean bill of health and was just genuinely asking if she was okay.

The King of Animus would not let it be known why his daughter was ill…or even if she was ill.

After more back and forth convocations war was declared between the two Kingdoms, The King of Tenebris had had enough of the ‘lies’ and just believed that the King of Animus was just being cruel, and did not want to mix the bloodlines. The war was called to a stop in early 223 when the Princess was declared dead as was the King of Tenebris.

The Kingdoms never joined and war was still talked about.

The kingdom had been changed forever, no longer an easy life of the things they were used to. No more radio shows and no more trains. It’s as if they went back in time.

One thing many never talked about was the many orphans that came from this war and how many families were no longer able to live a second class life and had to live in the undergrounds.

The council of Animus began to worry about who the heir to the throne would be, with the King not getting any younger and hoping to retire soon had to look far for an heir.

Tenebris, on the other hand, was starting a new, know lead by the Prince, who had no intention of starting a war with Animus, was more interested in helping but, the King of Animus would not let Tenebris be the ones to help.

~ History is very important. It may not be relevant now but, one day it will come in handy ~

13 years later.

A young boy of thirteen is who this story will follow.

This boy goes by the name Malaki, he had dark eyes as well as dark hair, which was rather long in the back. The shape of his eyes would be something some would talk about as they look like a cross between two different races. He was average in height and weight of about any boy his age from the Animus Kingdom. He wore very average clothes, just a sleeveless jacket, and trousers that stop a little above his ankles and he wore slip-on black shoes.

Malaki like many kids his age was made an orphan from the war. He never knew anything about either of his parents and was taken in by a very nice lady, Lilium, who had found him as a small child.

From a young age, he was kept an eye on by Karr, who had been (In Malaki’s words) a kind of uncle figure. Karr was a friend of Lilium’s and had been a prominent figure in Malaki’s life.

Malaki was told one thing about his father, that one thing being that he was a King’s Knight. With this knowledge, he then wanted to become a king’s knight hoping to one day find out more about his family. Karr had been the one to tell Malaki about his father and he gave Malaki the opportunity to attend a Warriors School when he turned thirteen, this would be the first step in becoming a Kings Knight. Karr was also a teacher at said school.

With very little to go on in life, Malaki, a young boy from the city, not knowing about his family, never leaving the city, is now put into an unfamiliar environment. All in hopes to find out about his family.
