Chapter 104

“Such a pity that Gabreelle is stuck with you.” He said looking at me. “If it were me that she had to be with, She would’ve been safe!” He yelled at me and pushed me.

“Just tell me how to reach her! We’re wasting time!” I yelled.

“Isn’t it obvious? There should only be one of us. It’s either you or me going out of this phase alive and saving Gabreelle. I doubt you’d survive, just kill yourself now so I can go to her now.”

“I won’t step down without giving a fight!”

He chuckled darkly, “Why? Because you’re the honorable one? Because you’re the Rejected mate from the prophecy?”

I looked at him confused, “What the fuck are you on about?”

He laughed sarcastically, “Oh C’mon!” He looked at me, “Don’t tell me that you don’t know that you are the Rejected mate from the prophecy.”

“What prophecy?”

“This just proves that you’re not fit enough to be Gabreelle’s guardian.” He said.

“Just tell me what the prophecy says!”

“You were destined to be rejected, you were destined to be appointed as the Moon goddess’ daughter’s guardian, you were also destined to reach this phase where you and I battle it out to see who gets to take over your body.” He said looking at my lifeless body getting hit with the whip.

Wasn’t Gabreelle the Rejected mate in the prophecy?

He snorted and gave a bitter smirk, “The thing is, the prophecy was open-ended from there.” He said looking at me.

“Which means whatever happens from here...”

“Whatever happens from here will be permanent and inscribed in the prophecy.” He said as we both were on guard and was going in circles, neither of us attacking.

What if I die here?

“Such a shame that the Moon Goddess gave you that. You don’t even know how to use it.” He said glancing at the sword and then looking at me again.

He shrugged, “It doesn’t matter anyway. Once I’m finished with you I get the sword and I get Gabreelle.”

I clenched my teeth and pursed my lips at the thought of Gabreelle not being with me.

“What do you say? Will you do the honorable thing and leave everything to me?” He said looking impatient.

“As if I’ll do that.” I said rolling my eyes.

“You’ll never win against me.” He said.

“I’ll be damned if I don’t at least try.” I said before charging at him.

We both crashed into each other with heavy force- he was having the upper hand by pushing me but I wasn’t giving him the benefit of falling. We were shouting as we fought, no one was letting their guard down- not even a second.

“Do you think Gabreelle will be safe with you even after all that you’ve put her through?!” He shouted as he pushed me forcefully and attacked me with a sword.

I gritted my teeth in anger and attacked him. I didn’t think, I just attacked him in any way that I could- kicking, punching, slashing the sword- name it.

“Acting tough now?! Where was this side of you years ago when your pack needed it?!” He shouted as he punched me square in the jaw.

“You’re a coward! That’s what you are!” He sneered at me. “You left your pack and let everyone down! You let a lot of people die! And you had the nerve to move your pack to Italy and still continued being an Alpha!” He said as he aggressively attacked me until he could push me down and get a hold of my sword. I wiped the blood that was on my lips, my body was aching all over and my legs gave up- I couldn’t bring myself anymore to stand up.

“Stand up! Fight me!” He shouted as he kicked me. I let him beat me until I was coughing blood.

“Any last words?” He asked.

“I made a lot of mistakes when I was younger... I was selfish- I was hurting and I acted out of selfishness and it cost me a lot of lives from the pack that I was supposed to protect and love. I wanted to make everything right...” I looked up at my other self. “I’m sorry that you had to be a part of me, it must’ve been hard. I hope you could forgive me.”

He looked stern and was clenching his jaw, “I know that you’re braver and stronger- You could protect Gabreelle and save her-”

“You’re damn right I could.” He said as he rolled his eyes.

“But I don’t think you’ll be able to love her better than me.” I said truthfully. I sighed and swallowed the lump that was in my throat.

I guess this is goodbye.

I closed my eyes and I felt being forced to stand up by my other self by lifting me by the collar.

I opened my eyes and we were in front of the mirror. We’re covered in bruises and in blood, I took a deep breath. “You should hurry. Gabreelle needs you.”

He covered both of his hands on mine putting something in between. Before I could look at what it was-

“I forgive you.” He said.

He pulled my hands forcefully on his stomach, I looked at it and there was blood dripping on the floor. He let go of my hands and a dagger fell on the ground.

“I’m confused.” I said.

He smiled at me before I got sucked into the mirror. It was dark, the only light was from the mirror. I saw my other self fade- what is happening?

I looked back at my surroundings and saw that it was pitch black. How will I go around if I can’t see anything?

I tried to bring forth fire from my hands but my elements won’t work here. “Damn it.” I muttered.

Then I heard scuffling, “Who’s there? Show yourself!”

Then suddenly I was engulfed in a hug, “It’s me!”

I would know that voice anywhere. “I found you.” I said as I hugged her. I could see her for a bit because of the light that was emitting from the mirror.

“I didn’t think that you’d come.” She said sadness evident in her voice. “Let’s get out of here. We don’t have much time.”

“Mikhail?” A distant voice said. “Is that you?”

I furrowed my brows, it couldn’t be. I shook my head.

I hear footsteps coming and saw that it was Gabreelle again. I looked at the one that was hugging me and looked at the one who was standing across from me. How can there be two Gabreelles?

“Who’s that?” Asked the Gabreelle who was across from me.

I was confused- I looked at the one who was hugging me and it is Gabreelle too. I distanced myself, “Who’s the real Gabreelle Somers?” I asked.

“I am.” Both said at the same time.
