Amanda

"Are you seriously going out there?" Hailey cried out as she raced to catch up with Amanda. The whole thing was unsettling, going to an abandoned farm house in the middle of the night.

"I don't really have a choice, do I?" Amanda was getting agitated, it was obvious that this wouldn't be her first pick of places to go but she was no chicken. If she was dared to jump off a moving truck just to keep people from thinking she was a coward, she probably would.

Amanda was a peculiar girl, she always had flowers tucked behind her ear and basically lived in her favorite pair of jean shorts.

"Why do you always have to do this?" Hailey narrowed her eyes into near slits, with a curl of her lip she gave her signature 'really dude' look. "I mean, it's completely expected of you but can't you do the opposite for once?"

It was already past midnight and the crickets were starting to chirp as the once warm air that began to cool, with a fresh breeze that whipped their hair around. A slight shiver passed down Amanda's spine as they grew closer to the glowing lights of the barn.

Isiah was already there and waiting for them, and with each heavy footstep brought another roll of anxiety.

"C'mon, let's hurry I want to get this over with." Amanda groaned before picking up the pace, Hailey stumbled slight behind in her six inch heels.

"Really would've helped if you didn't lie saying we were going to go clubbing instead of this, I totally would have changed shoes." She crossed her arms as the owls above ascended to the lower branches, watching us with curious eyes.

The music finally reached their ears by the time they made it to the rotting front door. The whole building looked like it was about ready to collapse and the moss growing on the ledges and windows didn't help it's case either. The grass was still scorched and crinkly and they passed. Still having yet to heal from the great fire only months earlier.

After entering through the back, Amanda immediately felt the cold creep under her skin, and the eerily quiet place gave off a hesitant feel. Hailey crossed her arms next to her and pulled on her hair, something she always did when she was nervous or scared.

Taking a shaky breath she looked at Hailey, they both shared a knowing look before making a decision they'd later regret.

They descended the stairs and entered the cellar.
