Prologue

Jeremy didn't mean to scare 4-year old Lina, his younger sister.

That one morning at 3AM where he set the alarm clock.

Where he giggled with the idea of bringing into reality the horror of the 3AM man.

Which supposed to be minutes of bursting with laughter turned into a frightening event.

His eyes widened, seeing a huge shadow with bright red eyes behind the awakened sitting Lina.

The horrifying view was so obvious, with the only lamp settled on the right side of his bed, extending just a small amount of light in the entire room. He threw himself backwards. Fell from the bed to the floor. With his hands still clasping on to those warm turned cold blanket. He wished to close his eyes but he just couldn't. He then started to pray.

Oh God, please wake me up from this nightmare...

The 3AM man didn't move. Still behind the young Lina. While Lina sitting on her bed, fronting Jeremy's direction. It was yet 3:03AM. Jeremy froze, eyes fixed towards her sister and the 3AM man behind. Breathing heavily but trying hard to keep it at a normal pace. The only sound that Jeremy heard at the moment were the ticking of the alarm clock, his own breathing and the silence.

Ha-ha-ha.

A big low voice blurted from Lina's mouth. The 3AM man started moving like it was laughing. And a hollow on its face can be seen, supposed to be its mouth.

Jeremy shivered. He felt a cold ice dripping on his spine. He wanted to shut the horrifying laugh by covering his ears with his own hands but he was stiffened. Still grabbing his own blanket.

From the closed-eyed Lina, now open with all white. This scene caused more horror to Jeremy. Such small body but with paranormal eyes is that much frightening.

He pushed himself more to the wall, near the window adjacent to the door. Bringing with him the blanket. He threw his blanket to cover Lina and he dashed towards the door. But he stopped halfway, for the shadow of the 3AM man was there.

He slowly walked backwards and bumped to their study table. Paused for a second for Lina turned her face to his direction. Her face looked more frightening this time. Her eyes turned red from being all white. A slight sinister smile was drawn on her face. She was on a kneeling position, still on her bed. Horrified, he started to move his hands looking for that something placed on the table.

A scissor.

He grabbed it with his right hand, tightly.

Then Lina stood up in an instant. Her bed squeaked a bit. With her satin sleeping dress, she shined a bit as the light from the lamp collided on her dress.

Then she stepped forward with her left leg. Jeremy panicked more. His heart pumping harder.

Then he clasped the scissor with his fingers wrapped by the handle, and raised it up.

He pointed the sharp edge towards his own neck.

And as Lina was about to launch herself towards Jeremy,...

This is just a dream.

...he plunged the scissor to his neck.
