The Beginning
CHAPTER – 1
The beginning.............
The story starts with my new job. Hello, I am Edward. I am 24 years old. It had been 2 months since I graduated. I wanted a career as a manager in a bank. After a few days, I got a job in a bank in Kerala. The company also gave me a house in the middle of a small jungle. First, I denied the offer of the house saying, "you want me to live amidst wild animals of that jungle," but in vain. My boss suggested that it would be very peaceful to live in the jungle and do office work. He said, " not a single animal was seen in the forest from last 10 to 11 years except some birds“. After saying that, he murmured, "except that." I heard him, but I acted as if I didn’t. My servant Debo (was an Indian), was with me. He was sent by my mother, who lived in England to guide me in India. When we reached the starting of the
forest, the driver of the car said that he will not go inside the forest and left us at the starting of the woods. He told us that our house was 3 km away from the starting of the woods. I heard him saying to Debo in Hindi, "is jungle main khatra, bekar Ghar ke bahar mat nikalna!" (This forest is dangerous, don’t step out of the house for unnecessary things). When I asked Debo what he was saying, he said, "Kuch Nahi sir Pagal Hai" (nothing sir, he is mad). After walking for a few minutes, we reached the house. It was a luxurious house. It seemed that it was built only a few weeks ago. It was nicely painted with saffron and black and white color. When I entered the house I had a strange feeling, but I ignored it as I was very exhausted with the day’s walk.
When I was in bed, I remembered the words which the driver said.
What was the thing in this jungle, which is dangerous? to be continued.........
