The Advice

CHAPTER 2

The Advice

The next morning broke up with a cry of birds. I woke up hearing a loud cry of a crow. It was a bright sunny day suddenly; a huge black cloud came above our house. The bright light of the sun was there for only a few minutes, and after that, it was darkness.

After that nature’s strange beauty, we (my servant Debo) we heard a loud cry in the woods. But we were not sure that it was a cry of an animal or a human. Debo told me that he was going in the woods to check whose sound was that, after he went, I rested for an hour. Suddenly, I heard another cry at that time. I was sure it was the cry of a human. I was terrified of hearing that sound. For a second, I thought it was the cry of Debo but I explained myself it could be the sound of any other human.

But we were in the middle of the thick forest there is no human except us.

After that, I heard the opening of the door. I had not forgotten the cry and the door scared me. Reaching the door of my room I asked “kon Hai”(who’s there). Then came a voice that relaxed me, it was the voice of Debo. I breathed heavily. I asked him what was that sound about, he said “there was nothing in the woods sir except animals

I heaved a sigh of relief. The day went by arranging the things in the house and we both went to bed with a lot of tiredness. The next day when I woke, I didn’t find Debo in his room. I first thought that he had gone out in the jungle for woods, but when it was quarter to one, I started to worry. I went to the main door to see if he was coming, but there was no sign of him. When I was about to close the door, I found an envelope. I thought that the envelope was left by Debo for me. I opened it to read it. I was right; it was left by Debo for me:

DEAR SIR,

I HAVE GONE TO TOWN’S MARKET FOR SOME ESSENTIAL THINGS FOR THE HOUSEHOLD, I WILL BE BACK AFTER 2-3 DAYS SO PLEASE DON’T WORRY

AN IMPORTANT ORDER MESSAGE: PLEASE DO NOT SEE THE ECLIPSE, I REQUEST DO NOT SEE THE ECLIPSE

YOUR SERVANT,

DEBO

I was surprised for some time, then suddenly I remembered that my mother told me that in the Hindu religion it is inauspicious to see the eclipse, I respected Indian culture as it is very interesting culture. The next day I accidentally, Saw the sun which was covered fully by the moon (I forgot Debo’s advice to not see the eclipse). I read an article that at 12:09 pm we can see the ring of fire. I decided in my mind that today I will see the ring of fire and I went in to find my solar viewer glasses which were in my wardrobe. At 12:05 I stood at the terrace of the house to see the ring of fire then suddenly I remembered Debo’s advice to not see the eclipse. When I finished thinking about the advice, I heard a loud sound of weeping, of animals, birds and a weird cry (I was not sure which creature the sound was of), I don’t know why I looked at the covered sun, and I regretted that decision whole life. Then again, I heard a sound and since it came from near me I ran into my house straight into my room and locked myself there. My ears started to pain as the sound became louder and louder, I tried to put my hands on my ears to prevent any sound from entering it, but it did not help. The voice didn’t stop till 5 minutes (I don’t know if it stayed there after 5 minutes, as I became unconscious after 5 minutes). I woke up hearing the ring of my phone. Then I stood up from my bed and stared at the screen of my phone, there was a call from an unknown number, then suddenly it rang again. I picked up the call, there was a familiar voice on the other end, but I couldn’t recognize it. The voice said, “you did wrong by not listening to the advice”. I was terrified, not by that mysterious call but by realizing that I fell unconscious on my chair and I woke up in my bed. I was done with the terrifying day and I went to the bed by taking God’s name and I assure you that I slept peacefully that night.
