The Screech

Alone, trapped in darkness, lost.

I couldn't escape, I couldn't find anything, I couldn't find anyone. You'd think I would've tried to look, tried to at least make an effort but instead I sat in the dark. The world around me was wet and moist like a marsh. Then all of a sudden the walls started to close in on me, crushing me, all hope was lost but suddenly a screech made me push forward.
I frantically squirmed about using even my teeth. I ripped through the walls of the strange cave, until I jumped out. I landed in light. Red was liquid was coming from a strange four legged creature which I escaped from, it had no scales and no claws. All it had was hair and skin, it was disgusting.

Schaelz: I was intrigued from the second I started reading, and it kept my interest the whole way through. Chelsea has a way with words that will enchant you until the very end. She is very poetic with the way she mixes genres and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The main character is also very relat...

Meri Amber: The plot is creative, fun and addictive! The writing is superb and the characters are really well put together. Definitely highly recommeded!

themyronus: Vanessa has made 'amazing' the norme. I didn't want to read this as I am waiting for the finished and polished book to come out. But then I decided to read one chapter for kicks...well hours later I finished what was posted. Fortunately, my memory is not to good and I hope I will read the book wi...

Evelyn Alonzo: I was up till three in the morning just so I could finish the story! It just really grabs your attention and you can't stop reading it at all! Lol great job, Nick! Can't wait to read your other stories!

Deleted User: (A review in progress). I like this. It's sparse, gritty and atmospheric - reminiscent of the classic Golden Age of American detective fiction of the Thirties. I've only read the beginning, but I'll definitely be back. This writer knows their stuff and has done their homework on detective work. T...

Melissa Davis: Interesting book and an enjoyable read. Had something different to it, that made me glad I picked it up.

Dina Husseini: To be honest I never knew you could make a fantasy this scary. I really enjoyed reading your story. At first to be honest, it was a bit boring but then it got so interesting and fun and (also you even scared me at times). I would really love to see this story on the big screen. It does deserve sc...

Hawkebat: Playing both Kotor I & II and Swtor I found the story line interesting and it held me until chapter 35 Very good story and plot flow until then, very few technical errors. I felt that the main character was a bit under and over powered, as it fought for balance. The last few chapters felt too f...

Karl12: This is a very unusual sci-fi mystery. I enjoyed the suspense which was present throughout the story. I loved how I never knew what to expect from the characters. This made the story thrilling and made me suspicious of everything and everyone. You have a great style of writing – one which captiva...

ritafullerton: This book had me hooked at the beginning. I loved the premise of the book. The grammar was a bit off. But the book was overall good. I am not sure if this is the authors first book but I look forward to seeing more from this author.

John Smith: This is what Sci Fi is all about. Reads like early Heinlein. In the style of Space Cadets. No esoteric problems..but good ol blaster and space action with a host of relatable characters

cassandrab: Delightful SciFi (for a change)! I am not a SciFi fan: mostly the genre is far too dystopic for me. This book (written by a high-school friend) is, on the other hand, generally upbeat. Yes, Earth's future is threatened. But Earth has a chance to plan a response. And (spoiler alert) ultimately win...

Leah Brown: This was an amazing read! I was hooked from the very first chapter, holding my breadth to see what would happen next. The characters are rich and vibrant, and the world Danielle has created is fascinating. If you love YA, you MUST read this book. Such a smart, brilliant debut novel. I loved it!
