Rebbie had come to school like always like she dressed for a cocktail party. She wore a bright, purple, tight, halter top pulled over a short, yellow skirt and sky-high Louboutins.

Maria wore worn jeans and a hot, pink blouse and sneakers. Shannon wore tight, bright green pants clashing with a top the same color, and ankle boots.

The class turn in their art portfolios and partner up in fours for an assignment for an Adobe Photoshop program. The class was loud, but it was fun.

After the bell’s dismissal, lunch, and several more classes in Mr. Okobe’s Literature, Ms. Rainey’s Chemistry, Mrs. Red’s Keyboarding, and Mr. White’s Performing Arts; the end of the day had come, and Andrea was ready to leave.

Shannon had pulled into the garage. Cody ran into the house.

“Goodness, what TV program is it this time?” she joked.

“The John,” he called out giggling.

She rolled her eyes. As she walked across the garage, she heard something. She turned around, immediately uneasy. Someone’s not trying to break in, are they? She thought in a panic.

She stood there in the center of the garage silently, barely breathing. She saw a dark shadow against the far wall. Her eyes open wide. A man came running up to her.

She held out her hands to brace herself. He was cloaked in a dark, hooded robe. She strained her eyes to see better. He reached out and pick her up off her feet.

She almost screamed. “Cody!” she attempted to croak out. Then the masked figure kissed her on top of her head. “Freddy!” she shouted, pushing him back.

“Who you think it was, Shannon?”

“Don’t fucking ever do that to me again!” she snapped at the same time laughing, losing her composure.

“Who the hell you think I was, some crazy, psychopath serial killer!?” he crackled in a maniacal voice from the movies.

“Shh, in case you haven’t heard, there is a crazy, psychopath serial killer roaming around!”

“For real, see I don’t watch much TV,” he said.

“You don’t read newspapers neither because there was a big spread about the killer this morning. What about online?”

“Yeah, I surf the web, don’t we all? But I mainly look at porn and play games though.”

She rolled her eyes at him and shook her head. He kissed her.

“Can we go inside?”

“What you want to do?”

“Chill and lay back.”

She grabbed his hand and led him into the house. “How’s school?”

“It’s all right. Not bad and not good,” he replied matter-of-factly. “What about Riverdale?” he went on.

“It’s straight. I’ve made new friends. My classes are great.”

Shannon pulled Fred into the den. He took off his jacket. She French kissed him for a long moment. They began to take off their clothes. Soon they were on the sofa bed making love. When they were nearly finished, Cody almost walked in on them.

“Cody, what the hell? Don’t you know how to knock!” she hollered.

Cody instantly blushed. “S-sorry,” he stammered. Immediately embarrassed. He closed the door with a bang.

As the day rolled on, Fred was on the porch getting ready to leave. He stepped out onto the driveway and jumped on his Harley Davidson.

Shannon playfully hit him. “I still haven’t forgiven your ass for sneaking into my garage, buster!” she scolded.

“Yeah, I know. You know you don’t mind when I make it up to you.” He kissed her, pushing back her hair. “You letting your hair grow out.”

“So, who cares about hair? You getting off the subject dear boyfriend.”

He smirked. “I love you.” He started the motorcycle. The loud noise didn’t faze Shannon.

“Hmm, how you know I love you back?”

“Uh, cuz you told me during sex.”

They laughed.

“I thought it was during foreplay.”

“I have to go. Some guys at the Inn wanna hang out and play poker. Catch you tomorrow, Shannon.”

“Yeah, all right.” She stood there with her arms cross, the wind blowing her silky hair around her face as she watched him disappeared around the corner.

“Oh my God, that flick was the shit!” Shannon exclaimed.

“I know right. I almost had a heart attack laughing!” Rebbie remarked.

“I almost wet myself. Did you see how his titties shook when he was prancing all over the place,” Maria replied.

“I know. It was so fucking funny!” Rebbie cried.

“I literally cried from laughing so hard,” Andrea said.

“Tyler is too much really,” Maria comment.

The four girls were walking over to Rebbie’s truck. They had carpooled to the Showplex to watch the newest Tyler Perry’s flick. Andrea had decided to go Friday and she got the other girls to agree. They left the theater bumping to one of 50 Cent’s hits.

Lee pulled up at Andrea’s house. It was a large three-story brick Victorian. He rang her cell. Pacing back and forth outside his car. He wore dark pants, a silk shirt with dress boots.

He always wore little jewelry. He had on a simple gold chain and his class ring. He didn’t bother to wear his wristwatch anymore like he did in high school because he always carried his smartphone like everybody else.

Andrea looked out her window and waved. Moments later, she jogged outside. She wore a tight-fitting, cool blouse and pantsuit with classy sandals.

“Why you have me park all the way across the street,” he asked her.

“Because my parents know Tony, they like him and I don’t want a lecture from them,” Andrea told him.

He opened the door for her and she got in. His cologne lingered in the night’s fresh air. He jumped in, smiling at her. “Oh, you could have told your parents we are just friends.”

“Mm-hmm, and I wonder how that would have worked out!” she joked.

They took off. A low ABBA tune played on SiriusXM.

“I couldn’t wait to see you.”

“Same here.”

“Does Tony know you’re out with me?”

“Hell no, Tony’s got a jealous streak.”

“Why you with him then if he’s like that?”

“I love him.”

“Oh shit.”

“What’s wrong?” she looked at him, alarmed.

“Oh, nothing much, I’m almost out of fucking gas,” he laughed.

“Nothing much, hell I don’t want to be walking, man!”

He laughed. “Well, you stay here and then I’ll walk if we were to run out.”

“Hurry up and find a gas station, Lee!”

“What do you think I’m doing, Andrea?!”

“Make a right there on Pine, there’s a gas station in that corner,” Andrea pointed.

“Yeah, I know. That’s where I’m going.”

“Good. What a great way to start a first date!” she laughed.

They pulled up at the store. Lee gave her a guilty smile.

“Sorry.”

“Uh-huh,” she shook her head.

Lee got his wallet out, getting a credit card, then oops, Andrea saw something square-shaped and small fall out of his wallet. A condom, hmmm.

She thought somebody planning on getting some action tonight! She looked up at him as he got out. Their eyes met. They both laughed. He reached down and put the condom back into his wallet.

He closed the door and paid at the pump. As he pumped gas, she looked around at the different people parading back and forth doing this and that. After a fill-up, Lee got back in the car.

“You look beautiful,” he commented.

“Thanks. So do you,” she replied back.

He gave her a funny look.

“I bet you prefer handsome, huh,” she laughed.

“I don’t mind.”

They chuckled as he drove off heading to The Hot Spot. The Hot Spot was a popular restaurant and club for the eighteen-and-over crowd. Andrea had a fake id and this would be her second time going inside the club.

She knew she was getting in because she knew the bouncer and other staff members. The Hot Spot had some of the best food, activities, and the most popular crowd on this side of Summerville.

They arrived at The Hot Spot. Lee had to double around the lot for a parking space because the garage was crowded with vehicles. After a car full of teens pulled off, Lee took their spot. Andrea and Lee stepped out and went inside the club.

“It feels good in here,” Lee said after they were shown a table.

Andrea was asked for her id at the door. She showed the bouncer the fake one. He barely glanced at it and let them walk through.

They were now sitting down and drinking Miller Lite beer. Everybody swore to secrecy when it came to the underage drinking part. But so far in the club’s five-year life, there has been not one bust.

“Don’t think I’m gonna get drunk tonight,” Andrea muttered.

“What, I can’t hear you over the noise,” Lee replied.

She leaned closer but not too close. She repeated what she said adding with it, “I know how you naughty guys think!” she remarked.

Lee smirked and laughed. “I’m different, Andrea. I’m not like other fellas.”

They continued to drink their beer. They also ordered nachos with dip and fried chicken wings. They look around at the rest of their generation. Majority of the crowd looked to be in their late teens to early twenties.

They saw young women in tight, low-cut tops and short bottoms with high heels. Young men in slightly sagging bottoms and short or sleeveless shirts and jackets. Spotlights danced across the floor. A DJ was spinning records and playing the latest and popular songs.

The dance floor was crowded with people from all walks of life. Lee ordered another beer while Andrea had a Sierra Mist soda. The club was very noisy. People seem to be in their own worlds. They laughed and carried on like it was their last night on earth.

“Hey, tell me more about yourself?” Andrea asked, looking at Lee up and down.

She was so very attracted to this guy. She loved looking into his dreamy eyes. That sexy grin. The silhouette of his rippled muscles of his chest and the ones she can see of his forearms. He was sooo fine, gorgeous to her. I can get high off his bod, she naughtily thought.

“Well, I live by myself. I’ll be graduating soon. I love to go to the gym. Play football and box. See, I use to box in high school and I was on the wrestling team,” Lee explained to her.

“Really, that’s great.”

“What about you?” he smiled again at her.

She batted her eyelashes. “I love to crack jokes. I like shopping, eating, social networking, hanging out with friends.”

“OK, that’s cool. Do you have any siblings?”

“Yeah, I have a kid brother named Eric and the kid’s a mess already at fifteen.”

“How is he a mess?”

She rolled her eyes. “He is so immature. He loves rated R movies and he watches porn. Loves to look at naked women and cuss like a dog,” she exclaimed.

“That’s nothing, a lot of guys do that including yours truly,” Lee laughed.

“You too, ugh,” Andrea groaned.

“Come on, let us guys have our fun!” Lee joked.

“All right. Do you have any siblings?” she asked him.

“Yeah, I got a younger brother. His name is Michael. He’s about twenty-one now and in college. He’s from Louisiana but move up here last summer. And let me tell you, the dude’s a piece of work,” Lee stated.

“A piece of work how?”

“Um,” Lee hesitated, all of a sudden, he seemed unsure of what to reveal to her. “He’s got into some trouble a year ago down there in Baton Rouge. It was about some ex-girlfriend of his and some other friends of theirs. He’s never been close to our mother. I didn’t really care for her neither, her ways that is. She is, was a ho, let me put it that way. She’s dead now. But she hurt the three of us a lot. I mean the woman drugged us from hell and back,” Lee chuckled.

“Wow, that’s harsh.” Andrea was a little stunned by his abruptness.

“Yeah, it sure is. But we don’t worry about her anymore. She cheated on our dad with boyfriends we didn’t even know about.”

“I’m sorry about that. Where’s your dad now?”

“He’s deceased. I don’t think he ever got over her in the end,” Lee pushed back his silky hair, only to have it fall back in the same place.

They were quiet for a long moment.

“I bet you got a lot of friends huh?” she questioned him.

“Yeah, I do. Mostly acquaintances. I have a few close friends. You know the ones who have your back no matter what.”
