Molly screamed. “Take me back! I don’t want to leave my aunt and Uncle.” She reached over the back seat and smacked Jack on the back of his head. His son Joe grabbed her and held on to her arms. “You better quit, or I will tie you up.” Molly stopped struggling and looked at him. “Who are you? Where are you taking me?” Jack Davis spoke up. “I am John’s brother, Jack. I’d shake your hand, but I’m driving. The guy sitting next to you is my son Joe. The two boys in the tuck bed are my grandsons Jake and Mike. We are taking you somewhere safe.”
“Dad, do you think it will be safe at home?” Joe asked. “I don’t know. Hopefully, the Jones family did not send anybody attack.” Jack said.
“If everything I heard about the Jones is true, your house will be lucky to stay standing.” Molly said. Jack laughed.
“I am going to call and see if everything is okay.” Joe said. He took the phone out of his pocket and dialed. He held the phone to his ear. “Dammit, nobody is answering the house phone. I’m going to try Troy’s phone.” He dialed Troy’s phone. “Hey, what is going on over there? Everything on our end went to hell. The Stirling’s got attacked and Molly had to come with us. Yes, she is with us right now. Nobody else, just her. We are about 40 minutes away. See you then.” Joe hung up the phone. “They got lucky, not a peep from the Jones family. Molly will be safe there.” Jon nodded. “Let’s hope so.”
Troy Davis hung up the phone. He shook and wiped the blood off his face. His uncle Emanuel whispered in his ear. “You did good boy. I knew you would be smart. You knew if you did something stupid, me and my boys would find your momma and sisters and punish them.” He tapped Troy with the gun. “Now I am going to lower this. Promise you won’t do anything stupid?” Troy nodded. Emanuel shoved Troy down onto the floor. “After all, you don’t want to end up like your stupid cousins.” Jeb, James and Joe lie motionless on the floor. Blood pooled around their bodies. “Tried to be heroes. You saw what that got them.”
Brantley came into the room. “What is going on?” Emanuel said, “Seems like dear Molly is on our way to see us. She will be here very soon. Along with the wonderful Davis family.” He picked up his shotgun and cocked it. “I just love family reunions.”
