Rick dashed through the back doorway, through the kitchen, living room, and up the stairs to the bedrooms. Just as he reached the top, he was pushed to the dusty floor from behind. From the floor, he could see his son was sitting on the bed staring. His eyes were red & watery from crying, but at the moment, he wasn’t there. A shadow with a multicolored face stepped between Rick and his son. It hissed at Rick and then, stalked toward him until it was inches from his face. It pressed it’s mouth to his mouth and made a slurping-sucking sound. Rick felt his life-force begin to drain until he passed out into darkness.
