11:45 p.m.

I wake up. I run. I run as fast as I possibly can. I search for the exit to this forest without any luck.

11:50 p.m.

I'm beginning to get frantic, I can't find it. I have ten minutes. I have no clue what it meant by the statement, I just hope I'm dreaming.

11:55 p.m.

Five minutes left. Five minutes to get the hell out of this wretched place and I'm no closer than I was ten minutes ago. I'm beginning to lose all hope of getting out and I start to fear for my life. I’m starting to wish I were dreaming again...

11:59 p.m.

I see another lit area... I see my friend, smiling and waving... Grinning... I'm so close... Almost there...

12:00 p.m.

"HEY!!! WAKE UP MAN!!! ARE YOU OKAY?!"

I open my eyes and see my friend's face hovering a few inches above mine. I guess he came in looking for me after the time was up for a while. When he couldn't find me he began to worry that I was in serious trouble. I guess I fell asleep and fell off the tree. Thankfully nothing broke. He leads me out. I'm more relieved than anything.

11:45 p.m.

I look at my watch, 11:45. Damn thing must be broken. My friend turns his head slightly and grins widely at me. My heart drops to my stomach. Black eye... White dot... Gnarled teeth... A horrible voice... He says,

"Times UP..."

12:00 p.m.

"Dolan! Dolan!!" I remember Rick hovering above my face, calling my name. He seemed worried, I waved him away and sat up, and asked what time it was. Hey told me it was midnight. I made it. But he told me that I was out cold, quite literally, outside the forest. I told him about what happened, and he just says we should get home.

12:07 p.m.

We unlock the door to our dorm and walk in, exhausted from the night's adventure, eager to just get some sleep. I try. And try. And try. But every time I do I see that horrifying face, grinning at me. Some mornings I even find scratch marks on my back in the mirror before I take a shower. I'm just waiting for the day it's more, the day I find myself facing it down again. Until then, I'll just try to sleep.
