Ed Gein

“Ed Gein”

Four human noses, whole human bones, and nine masks of human skin/

Bowls made from human skulls, a pair of lips as a window shade draw string

Human skin covering several chair seats, as well as nine vulvae in a box/

A belt made from female nipples, ten female heads with the tops sawn off

Mary Hogan’s head in a paper bag, Bernice Worden’s head in a burlap sack/

A lampshade made from human skin, skulls lying on the bed in which I nap

Confessing to forty nocturnal visits, to the graveyard in a ‘daze-like’ state/

Looking for bodies that resembled my mother, so I could take ’em home & play

I would tan their skins to make my paraphernalia, and decorate mother’s home/

Living with my mother until ’45, following her demise from a series of strokes

Devastated by her death, as I had lost my only friend and my one true love/

Boarding up the rooms used by my mother, leaving all three of them untouched

Now living in a small room next to the kitchen, absolutely alone in this world/

Deciding I wanted a sex change, I began making a ‘woman-suit’ to become a girl

Facing one count of first degree, found mentally unstable the trial was impossible/

But being I was found legally insane, I spent the rest of my life in a mental hospital.
