Maura and Jade have just moved to a new house. They have been experiencing normal paranormal events in the past seven days they've been there. On and after the seventh day, they see weird things. Will they survive in 666 Akara St.?

Chapter 1

Me and my sister, Jade stare at whats in front of us. The big, black figure that's just standing there whispering words I can't quite comprehend. We have been experiencing things like glass falling off of shelves and knives being thrown but we haven't seen a figure, the past seven days we've been here.

"Maura, I'm scared." Jade whines. Jade is eight years old, me only twelve.
We have never dealt with paranormal activity. Every since we moved to this house, weird things have been happening. For the past four days, me and Jade have been kept awake by whispers.
"Get out." I hear the figure mumble. We back up to the door. The figure inches toward us.
We run out of the house and as far as we can.
"Do you hear that?" Jade asks.
"Yeah. Is that a baby?" I asked confused.
We cautiously walk toward the sound of a baby crying. We're lead behind a tree when we see an old school baby carriage. I reach for the baby girl.
"What are you doing with my baby?!" A woman inhumanly shrieks.
"We heard it cry and-" Jade is cut off by a man chopping the woman's head off. This causes her to scream.
"You're next." He smirks while pointing at her.

David Ramati: An unusual story, well worth reading. Good conversations, excellent prose, and keeps my interest, maybe because I was there, back in the day. You won't be able to pt this book down.

fabihafatimaagha: OH MY GOD! I'M CRYING. 😭😭 This story was really good

Donna J Rinas: I thought it was a great read! A real page turner. There were lots of surprising and unexpected plot twists. The descriptive writing was very well done and you could just envision the places in your mind. Could see this being turned into a movie! I really enjoyed it. Would love to read more...

Sammy Styles: It is one of those stories that keeps you on the hook till the last moment. A roll of pictures were piling up and with continuous moving, it was like I was watching a film. The scenes were dramatic with a bit of every emotion. The story contains every essence of mystery, romance and adventur...

Nishant Jain: I felt as if i am watching a movie, not reading a book. The story was definitely interesting. It was more of action than horror for me. There are a few grammatical and spelling errors I came across and at times I found it difficult to imagine some things which the author is trying to convey, but o...

Hayley: Beautiful story that has been well written. Something I will definitely read again. I loved how you could feel the tension between them and I loved the ending because It left it open to our imagination. I look forward to seeing to reading further stories by the same author.

Jason Phang: I'm pretty new to Inkitt (this is only my 4th book) and I must say I've been thoroughly impressed by the quality of the authors here. Remnants of Chaos is an excellently written book that hooks the reader, and doesn't let go. There are some grammatical and typographical errors, but nothing too se...

iann4701: I'm no expert but I know when I have read a good book and this was one. From the beginning it had me wondering where it was going next and what the outcome would be. If you fancy a read with a slightly different perspective from the norm then I would certainly give this book a read. I will look o...

debmart6901: I could not put this story down. I stayed up reading when I should have been in bed. could not get enough, could not wait to find how it ended. Great story telling. Great detail. Loved it. The characters were very vivid.

Nida Bhounr: the novel was a very typical and clichéd plot boy meets girls , impregnates her and leaves her because of prior commitments then they meet up again. but nonetheless it was very nicely written. it was very typical but i liked it.

hannahparson11: When I downloaded this app, I expected crappy writing from amateur authors. Needless to say, I am pleasantly surprised at the stunning writing this novel presented, and the amazing plot. Worth the read.

danijelstoilkovic: I really like this story. The characters, the mysteries, that bonding in the end, but I would really like to see what happened next. Is there a second part? And this would really be one cool horror movie and if I was the director, I wouldn't change a thing. It's awesome!

Deidre L. Swain: I understood where the story was going but the writing skills were lacking a lot. There are some places that had no flow. The plot was good which is what kept me reading the whole story. I think the author shows promise. They just need to tighten up on their skills to really get it going

Lydia Sherrer: I first read The Speaker almost a decade ago when I first discovered author Sandra Leigh. I loved it then, and I still love it now. It is a simple, easy read, yet deep in meaning and rich in storyline. I do not know what kind of research or prior knowledge Leigh has of First Nation tribes, but sh...
