Chapter 1- Eeek, a Janitor's Closet!
Bhavya Das was intelligent, quick-thinking, shy, cautious, and obedient. Then how on earth did she end up locked in her school’s Janitor’s closet? Yes, a Janitor’s closet with peeling charcoal paint, worn and yellowed mops, puddles of unknown liquid, and a putrid odor that can only be described as an unpleasant mix of floor wax, stagnant water, a variety of cleaners, and sweat. She had been stuck here for at least a good 20 minutes and the stench was already starting to get to her. “Wow, what a way to start your 2nd day of school!” she thought to herself. “I bet no other little, 5 year old girls were put through this.” She stomped her foot on the floor in frustration, “How was she ever going to get out of here? What if the closet was abandoned? Then, nobody would come for her!” Bhavya felt for a dry spot and then carefully sat on the floor; this was going to be a long day! But, of course the day hadn’t started itself out well either.
