"Do you have everything, Sheva?" Her mother called from the kitchen. Sheva was currently in the living room going through her bag. She double checked her bag and she had everything.
"Yeah, I have everything! Come on, let's go!" Sheva told her mom as she ran into the kitchen. Nadia smiled and rolled her eyes at her excited daughter.
"Ok then let's get a move on!" Nadia told Sheva.
The car ride was quiet, except for Sheva squealing with excitement every time the GPS told them where to go, knowing she was getting closer and closer to seeing Claire, and Chris.
They finally pulled into the driveway of the Redfield's house. It was nice on the outside to say the least. Sheva grabbed her bag and jumped out of the car before her mom even turned it off. She ran to the door and gave it a knock.
She heard muffled voice before someone answered the door.
The door opened to reveal Chris. Chris smiled at Sheva, she smiled back. Nadia came up behind Sheva. She looked at the boy who answered the door. Sheva noticed her mother's presence and introduced Chris.
"Mom, this is Chris. He is one of my friends. Also Claire's brother. Chris this is my mom." Sheva finished smiling at the two. They shook hands.
"It is very nice to meet you, Mrs. Alomar." He told her. Nadia smiled and said:
"Nice to meet you too, Chris."
"Do you guys want to come in?" Chris asked stepping aside holding the door for the girls. Both of them said thank you and walked in the house.
"I'll go get Claire; you're actually the first one here. Be right back!" He said as he ran up the stairs, two steps at a time.
Sheva was smiling the whole time; she forgot her mom was right next to her. Sheva stopped smiling and look to her mom who had a small smile on her face.
"What?" Sheva asked her mother whose smile just got bigger.
"I don't like him." Sheva lied to her mother.
"Come on Sheva. I was a teenage girl before too. You like him and I know you do. You just didn't want to tell me because you thought I wouldn't let you come to the sleepover. Am I right?"
Sheva was silent for a moment. Her mom did trust her, but was she ready to trust her mom?
"Yeah, but I don't know how I feel right now. I like him but I don't want to ruin our friendship." Sheva decided to trust her mother for now. Hopefully she made the right decision. What was taking Chris so long, anyway?
"Ok, well I'm going to go home. Have fun sweetie and call me when you're ready to come home, ok?" Nadia told Sheva as she kissed her on the forehead.
"Ok." Sheva said as she hugged her mother.
"The moment Nadia left, Chris came downstairs and apologized for taking so long.
"Claire is almost ready. She'll be down in a minute. Do you want to watch TV while we're waiting?" Chris asked nervously. He really wanted to get to know Sheva well tonight, and did not want to make her feel uncomfortable.
"Sure!" Sheva replied smiling. She thought it was cute how he sounded nervous.
"Oh, let me get that for you." Chris said reaching for the bag. "Oh, thanks." Sheva replied as he pulled the bag off Sheva's shoulder. As he pulled it off their hands touched for a second. Sheva felt her cheeks heating up as he walked to the top of the stairs to put her bag down.
Chris came back down stairs to see a blushing Sheva. He knew what he did to her but played dumb.
"You okay? You look kind of red."
Sheva's eyes widened and she brought her hands to her burning cheeks.
"Oh, I'm ok; I'm just…um… a little hot. I mean because of the temperature of the house, of course!" Sheva said laughing awkwardly after she finished. Chris was trying his best not to laugh at her but he couldn't hold it on any longer. Chris doubled over, grabbing his stomach and laughing out loud.
Sheva was so embarrassed. She decided to stand up for herself and smacked him on the arm.
"What are you laughing at!?" Sheva asked pretending to be stronger than she was.
"It's nothing…" Chris said, calming down his laughter.
"Didn't you say something about watching TV?" Sheva said pouting and trying to change the subject. "Oh, yeah…" Chris replied.
Sheva followed Chris to the living room and watched as he plopped down on the brown couch. Sheva just stared at Chris for a moment.
"Come on; don't be afraid to sit by me. Me and my macho muscles won't hurt you!" Chris said trying to tease her. He watched as she rolled her eyes and took a seat next to him on the couch. Chris grabbed the remote on the end table and turned the TV on. Chris turned on the TV and they watched it together.
3 hours later…
It was 10:00pm and Chris, Sheva, Claire, Sherry, Helena, Jake, and Leon all sat in a circle playing Truth or Dare. It was Helena's turn.
"Hmmm, let's see," Said Helena as she looked around deciding who to pick. "I choose you!" She said, pointing at Chris.
"This is Truth or Dare, not Pokémon." He told her jokingly. Helena just rolled her eyes and said "Truth or dare stupid."
Chris was quiet for a moment as he looked around, pretending not to hear Helena asking the question.
"Hello! Earth to Chris." Helena said reaching over to wave a hand.
"Oh, were you talking to me? I'm sorry, but I go by Chris not stupid.
Everyone but Helena was laughing. Helena sat there with a red face trying not to laugh. She couldn't help it and laughed along with them.
"Ok, ok, I choose truth." Chris said as the laughing died down.
"Ok, who would you date IN THIS ROOM?"
"I would date Sheva," Chris said simply. Sheva sat in her spot turning redder than before.
"Because she doesn't know my bad side, but everyone else does." Chris finished. He would tell no one about his crush on her, but he hoped he gave her a clue.
After 20 more minutes of Truth or Dare, they settled down, changed into their sleepwear and watched a movie. They were halfway through the movie when the girls, except Helena fell asleep.
"Let's put them to bed." Jake said as he grabbed the sleeping Sherry off the floor. Helena started walking towards upstairs to Claire's room where the girls were going to sleep. Leon grabbed Sherry and Chris grabbed Sheva, who was very light.
Chris studied her sleeping face. She looked so peaceful and beautiful. They finally made it to the Claire's room. Leon put Claire down on the large bed next to the other 2 sleeping girls. He left the room leaving Chris in the dark room with the sleeping girls. Chris laid Sheva down on the bed. He looked at her peaceful face once more, bent down and kissed her forehead.
