Chapter 21

Sky’s P.O.V

Hudson showed me to his room because Luca already locked it so that none of the guests would go in there and do things. Apparently, every other room (and that was obviously a lot of rooms) had people in them, doing things.

I walked into his room and it was basically amazing. It was sleek and modern. Mostly black and white. There was a king-sized bed in one corner, a bedside table with a bedside lamp on it, a black desk with a black desk-chair. The walls were all white and there was a door that led to a walk-in closet and another one that probably led to that bathroom.

“Get freshened up. I’ll go get our bags,” Hudson said and left. I looked around for a bit. It looked amazing. I sat down on the bec.

I took out my phone and started scrolling though all the photos we took. Wow, there’s a lot.

I played with my hair. It still has the highlights and looks awesome. I went to camera roll and took a few hundred pictures.

I just need to tilt my head a little bit in that angle and... there we go!

I heard the bedroom door open and Hudson walked in, carrying both of our backpacks. I quickly got up from the bed to see him looking at me confusedly. I gave him a sheepish smile.

This is the definition of AWKWARD.

I walked out of the bathroom with my hair a bit wet. Hudson looked up at me from where he was laying on the bed.

I skipped to where he was and sat down next to him on the bed.

“What should we do?” I asked.

“Sky, an hour ago, you were tired as hell. Now you look like a kid on sugar-rush,” Hudson deadpanned causing me to grin.

“Well, I’m in freaking Italy! I think I have the authority to be acting like I’m on a sugar rush,” I smiled.

“It’s just Italy,” he groaned.

“Don’t you dare underestimate Italy. It has a LOT of things,” I remarked.

“Like what?” he raised a brow.

Shit, what the fuck do I say? The truth? No, I don’t think so, Honey. I’ll be embarrassed for a lifetime.

“Like... Great food. Great views and stuff like that?” I said quickly.

“What else?” he turned to me and gave me his full attention. He knew what I was thinking of.

“What do you mean?” I played dumb and he gave me a look. “I’m never gonna say it out loud.”

“I dare you to.”

“Nope,” I smirked.

“Chicken,” he sang.

“Fine, it’s-also-because-of-hot-Italian-guys,” I replied quickly and closed my eyes.

He burst into laughter and let me tell you, it sounded hella sexy.

“So you’re saying that I’m sexy?” he smirked.

I looked his shirtless form up and down, my eyes trailing over a little more slowly on his 8-pack.

A smirk formed on my lips as I said, “Who wouldn’t?”

Yes, I know that’s risky, that’s why I immediately took my phone from the bedside table and started scrolling through Instagram.

“Say that again,” he said.

“Nope,” I replied, not even bothering to look up at him.

Suddenly, my phone was snatched away from me.

“Hey, give it back!” I whined.

“Then say that again,” he smirked.

“No, give it back,” I said as I got up and tried to snatch it back from him.

“Not if you don’t say it again,” he said. I tried to get my phone back but ended up straddling him.

“Give it back,” I said, trying to sound serious but ended up laughing a bit because the position that we’re in looks as if we’re the main characters in a romance novel.

“Sure. If you say it again,” he replied.

“No,” I said.

“Ok,” he said with a mock serious expression and put the phone on the other side of the bed. I tried to reach for it but he started tickling me and then I started laughing and everything was basically perfect.

“Stop it, Hudson!” I gasped out between my fit of giggle. I tried to get up but he put one of his hands on my hips and held me there.

“Then say it again,” he smirked.

“No- Stop it! Please- Hudson!” I laughed.

“Say it again then,” he suppressed his smile.

“No-” He increased his pace. “Fine, Italian guys are hot!”

“Say ‘Hudson Walker is the sexiest guy I’ve ever seen’,” he demanded.

“No- I have- Some- Dignity!” I giggled. He flipped us over so that he was on top of me and I had nowhere to escape to.

“Say it,” he growled playfully as he increased his pace.

“Hudson Walker is the- God! Most obnoxious and arrogant and sexiest guy I’ve ever seen,” I said. He stopped tickling me and looked at me with a serious expression.

“Take that back,” he scoffed.

“But every single word of that is true,” I smirked and a small smile appeared on his lips.

“When did I ever be rude to you?” he furrowed his brows.

“Remember the first time I met and you bumped into me-?”

“No, you bumped into me,” he cut me off.

“See? Obnoxious,” I remarked.

“I really wasn’t,” he rolled his eyes.

“Yes, you really were,” I giggled. God, since when did I become such a girly girl?

“What exactly made you think so?” he cocked a brow.

“Well, you bumped into me and-”

“No, you bumped into me,” Hudson cut me off.

“Obnoxious,” I smirked. “When we first met, you were like ‘Watch where you’re going!’ and I was thinking ′Seriously? ′Watch where you’re going!’? That is so last decade’ so you clearly didn’t make a good impression. How did I do?”

“NO ONE talks back to me but you did, which clearly annoyed the fuck out of me," he replied. "And how exactly did I change from the first impression?"

"Well... there's not much difference..." I trailed off and he scoffed.

"Shut up, you haven't made much difference either," he rolled his eyes.

"Oh really?" I raised a brow.

"Yeah, you were the kind that liked romance books, you're overly cheery and you're just an innocent little good girl," he smirked.

"Well, how would you know if I'm innocent or not?" I smirked right back.

"Do you want me to figure it out?" his smirk got wider.

"Figure that out first," I said with a smile.

"I think I already did." Both of us were smiling at each other like idiots. My eyes scanned his face. With out even realising it, my hand went up and brushed away the strand of hair that was covering his cheek.

What's underneath that's so shameful that he has to hide it?

It can't be any worse than what I've gotten.

I brushed it away to see a scar underneath. Hudson tensed immediately.

This must have hurt a lot. Surviving from whatever pain he has been through is something to be proud of. He experienced it and came through.

I slowly stroked his scar and Hudson's tense form relaxed against me.

"I'm not gonna say sorry about whatever happened that caused this because I don't know about it and I didn't cause it but... I hope you realise that recovering from what you've been through, is the important thing, and this," I ran my fingers over his scar. "This is just the last part of that which wants to hold onto your life and ruin it. You don't have to be ashamed of it. It's a mark that proves that you have the ability to get through that."

I cupped his cheek in one hand and gently stroked his scar. With a small smile, I wrapped my arms around him and he immediately melted into my arms.

We just lay there in a comfortable silence until eventually we both fell asleep.
