Chapter 16: The Greek God
“Yes!” Mason exclaimed.
“No!” I shot back.
“Yes!” He spoke a little louder.
How am I friends with this egoistic blonde airhead?
“No!” I copied his tone and the volume of his voice.
“Y-” Mason was speaking even louder when Damien covered his mouth.
Damien was standing a few feet away and he didn’t make a move to stop our argument. He didn’t even try to stop his stupid best friend in the past hour or so! I could see his irritation from the start but he made no move to go away or to stop us before this.
“I can’t take this any longer! Please stop!” Damien almost whined. I chuckled at his irritation earning a glare from him. I made the show of zipping my lips and locking them shut which satisfied Damien as he sighed.
After the sleepover last night, we all fell asleep in the living room. After breakfast in the morning, Liam and Kara left to spend some couple-time while Ellie and Xander took the living room to watch a movie together.
Ellie had strictly warned us not to disturb her and Xander or else she would kill us. And she looked pretty serious.
That girl can be seriously scary when she wants to be!
So, me, the twins and Damien decided to spend some time doing nothing in one of the spare rooms. And while doing nothing, Mason and I got bored and we decided that arguing with each other was the best way to pass our time.
It was hella satisfying to see the irritation on Damien’s and Jason’s face!
“He’s right. I kinda feel left out here. I thought you’d spend some time with me too but you’ve been arguing with this dumbo since breakfast!” Jason glared at his twin.
Even though Jason and Mason looked the same and they both joked around a lot, I had noticed how they both had totally different personalities. While Mason was always carefree, Jason did show his feelings.
“Aww!” I cooed as I walked up to Jason and sat next to him on the bed. “I didn’t know that you wanted to spend time with me!” I told him, honestly.
Knowing that Jason wanted to spend time with me was flattering. Especially since my own parents never considered me worthy of their time. It was nice to know that these people were not so messed up like my parents were.
“Well, I wanted to go out with you while these two did whatever they wanted.” Jason said as he motioned to Damien and Mason.
“Hey!” Mason protested while Damien just raised an eyebrow in question.
“Ellie was the only girl I used to love hanging out with but she’s always busy with Xander now. I thought at least you’ll stay with me.” Jason said, his voice sounding honest and sad.
“I had no idea about this, Jace. I’m sorry!” I told him as I rested my head on his shoulder.
“Then will you go out with me now?” He asked. I looked up at his face with a smile and nodded my head. He smiled brightly at me before standing up. “That’s amazing! At least I’ll get some time with you before you get busy with Damien!” he exclaimed. I frowned at his words.
Why will I get busy with Damien?
“I’m not letting you go out with her alone!” Mason argued. “I’m coming with you!” he informed us. I scoffed.
“I am not going anywhere with someone who thinks that he looks like a Greek god.” I told him. “I’m sorry but I am allergic to egoistic guys!” I added.
For the past hour, we have been arguing about various things but this was the topic of our latest fight. Mason said that he was a Greek god and that was why he was so handsome.
“Then you did the right thing while choosing Mr. Humble here.” Mason muttered. Damien rolled his eyes. “I am a real Greek god!” He smirked. He tilted his chin up and looked away, trying to make a point.
To be completely honest, he looked like the idiot he was…
“No, you’re not.” I chuckled. He rolled his eyes at me.
“Yes, I am. That’s why you like me so much.” He replied.
“Not this again!” Jason groaned. “You both have said these same things just a few minutes ago! Please don’t make me hear it all again! I can’t bear this!” He pleaded. I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing at the desperation on his face.
“So, will you be joining us too, Mr. Humble?” I asked as I turned to Damien. He shrugged.
“I’ll tag along just to make sure that you don’t murder him and dump his body in a dumpster.” Damien smirked as he looked at Mason who stopped taking his selfie at Damien’s words.
That sounded like a really nice idea!
“Hey! I can defend myself! Especially when my opponent is Penny.” He rolled his eyes as he tried to style his blonde hair a little better.
“No, you cannot. Do I need to remind you about what happened on my first day at the school?” I crossed my arms with a smirk prominent on my face.
“You just took me by surprise!” Mason argued but I could see the blush creeping on his cheeks.
“Say whatever you want, Mace. But we all know the truth.” I told him as I patted his head. He scoffed as he pulled away and ran a hand through his hair.
“Whatever. Let’s go.” Damien chuckled. “I’ll be on my bike.” he said as he showed us his keys.
“Oh! Can I drive?” I asked him in excitement.
“Hell no!” He said, making me pout in disappointment. “That pout won’t work. Sorry but I want to live a little longer.” He told me. I rolled my eyes.
“You two brought your car, right?” I asked, turning to the twins. They nodded. “Who’s driving?” I asked.
“I’ll drive.” Both of them said together. Their eyes grew wide as they looked at each other. “I’ll drive!” They said together again. I couldn’t stop myself as I laughed at them.
They both stood up and ran out of the room, trying to get to the car as fast as possible before the other.
I looked at Damien after staring at the door through which they ran out for a few seconds.
“You can come with me.” Damien told me with a smirk. I sighed in relief. I rushed to him and gave him a quick hug.
“Thanks!” I said before I walked out of the room and down the stairs. I stopped at the bottom of the stairs and Damien stopped next to me.
“They seem… cozy.” I said as I looked at Xander and Ellie from a distance as they cuddled into each other’s sides while watching a movie.
“You know, I never wanted a girlfriend. But now as I see these two being so happy together, I want that too.” Damien told me.
“You want that since you saw these two together or did you want that since you saw Ellie for the first time?” I asked with a smirk, turning to Damien who looked shocked.
“How…No… What?” Damien stuttered. I smirked at his embarrassed face.
“Well, one, you have a very cute sister who by the way is quite loud with her thoughts. And two, I can see how your face brightens up whenever Ellie’s around.” I told him as I turned to look at the couple again.
“Aria told you about it?” Damien asked in confusion. I chuckled as I remembered my conversation with the little girl.
“She told me, and I quote, ‘Monster Xander took Princess Ellie away from Dami and married her. Now Dami feels lonely.’ And she asked me to be your princess to cure you of your loneliness.” I told Damien without looking at him. He was quiet for a few seconds.
“What was your reply?” he finally questioned. I smirked as I turned to face him.
“I am no princess. I am the damn evil queen.” I told him in a low voice before giving him my sweetest smile.
I used his shock to steal the keys from his hands and rushed outside.
