Chapter 54: Sugar and Spice Epilogue
“No!” I groaned.
I can’t do this!
“Yes.” Aria told me with a huge smile on her face.
How can she look so cute and be so devilish?
“No, Aria!” I said, trying to sound stern.
Why isn’t she listening to me?
“Yes, Penny!” She replied, her excitement still shooting for the sky.
God! Why me?
“Aria, please understand.” I tried the soft approach as I kissed her cute little chubby cheeks.
I wish I had such cute cheeks…
“No! You understand!” Aria shot back. I sighed as I closed my eyes and massaged my temple.
How is she so stubborn?
“No means no, Aria.” I told her finally when I opened my eyes.
Maybe I should just leave now…
“And yes means yes. What’s your point?” Damien said, raising an eyebrow at me in question. He was leaning against the doorway with his hands crossed across his chest.
He looked so unreal that I was trying to avoid looking at him.
Stop getting distracted by his handsomeness, Penny!
“My point is that we can’t do that!” I stated.
“Why not?” Damien shot back with an angry look on his face.
His angry look is even hotter!
Get your head in the game, Penny!
“Because I don’t want to!” I told him in a firm voice.
For the past two hours, we have been arguing about the same thing and I was seriously tired. I was almost about to give up now since these two stubborn siblings were not understanding anything.
“But Penny!” Aria cried as she grabbed my hand and squeezed it.
“I don’t understand why you cannot do this, Penny.” Damien sighed as he walked up to me. He offered his hand And I placed mine in his.
Damien helped me stand up from the floor where I was on my knees as I argued with the little angel.
“Damien, you can ask me to do anything but this!” I pleaded.
“Why, Penny?” Damien asked. “Are you afraid?” He gasped dramatically. I rolled my eyes at him.
I knew what he was trying to do here. He was trying to make me give in to my challenging side that wanted to prove that I was afraid of nothing.
And it was a little too sad to accept that even after knowing this, I couldn’t help it…
“I am not afraid!” I told Damien.
“Then prove it.” He smirked.
“Yes, Penny! Prove it!” Aria giggled.
I took a deep breath as I looked between the cute little girl and her handsome elder brother.
“Alright.” I said, nodding my head at them. “But if I go to jail, you two are bailing me out! And all the damage is going to be your fault.” I told them.
“You are not going to go to jail for going to prom, Penny!” Aria giggled.
“But I might do something to get me there if I get too bored.” I mumbled with a shrug. But Aria giggled, letting me know that she heard me.
“Why do you think that I would let you get bored?” Damien asked me.
“It’s the event that’ll bore me.” I answered. “When Uncle K will get to know that I’ll be going to prom, he’ll come to chaperone it. You know what’ll happen then.” I explained.
“He’s cool with it. Don’t worry.” Damien reassured me with a small smile on his face.
“How would you know that?” I frowned.
“Because I asked for his permission before asking Aria to help me force you into it.” He smirked.
I gasped at his words.
Did he seriously… He couldn’t, could he?
“So, you asked my uncle and not me?” I asked with an incredulous expression.
“Yeah.” He grinned at me.
“Why don’t you just go and date my uncle then?” I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms and turning away from him.
“Penny…” Damien sighed as he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me to him. I kept my eyes away from his face as I struggled against him.
“You didn’t ask me to be your girlfriend either time and just went with it. But you did ask my uncle for his permission for you to become my boyfriend. And now this!” I grumbled as I continued to struggle against Damien’s hold.
“Either time?” Aria’s confused voice made me turn to the little girl. Instantly an idea formed in my head and a devilish grin appeared on my face.
“It’s nothing, Ari.” Damien told her.
Oh, it’s something alright!
“Damien broke up with me a while ago.” I told Aria. Damien froze at my words, allowing me to easily slip away.
“He did what?” Aria gasped, her eyes widening as she looked at me.
“He broke my poor heart.” I told her, feigning sadness as I sat down on my knees in front of her. Aria turned to glare at her brother.
I knew that I was using a kid for my poorly thought out plan to get back at my boyfriend but I didn’t care.
After all, He didn’t care when he was using her to convince me to go to prom!
“How could you, Dami?” She spoke in a hushed yet angry tone as she wrapped her arms around my neck and hugged me.
I smirked back at Damien before wrapping my arms around his sister.
“I thought I made it up to you by that paintball mission in the middle of the night!” Damien exclaimed.
“I can’t believe you broke Penny’s heart, Dami!” Aria exclaimed as she pulled away from and glared at Damien. “You’re so mean! Penny is not going to prom with you.” she told him before she started pulling me by my wrist with her, out of the room.
“Penny!” Damien looked at me with an incredulous look. I sighed as I turned to Aria.
“I think that we’ve punished your brother enough.” I told her.
The little girl turned to look at her brother’s face before turning to me with a shrug.
“Maybe.” She sighed.
“What is going on here?” Damien frowned in confusion.
“I told Aria about our break-up when it happened. She called me to ask when I was going to visit her next time so I kinda had to.” I told him.
“What?” Damien gasped.
“On the brighter side, I’ll go to prom with you!” I cheered as I wrapped my arms around his neck in a hug.
“I’m still angry.” Damien grumbled as he wrapped his arms tightly around me. “You should’ve told me. I was confused as to why my own sister wasn’t talking to me for days!” He huffed.
“I love you!” I told him out of the blue to distract him.
That phrase usually did the trick…
“I love you more.” Damien told me as he pulled me impossibly closer to him. I could almost hear the smile in his voice. “But I’m still angry.” He added after a few seconds making me giggle.
I have the cutest boyfriend ever!
“I’m getting so emotional!” Mrs. Marilyn Ambrosia, Ellie’s mother sobbed as Ellie, Kara, Sarah and I twirled around in our prom dresses in front of the group.
“Tell me about it!” Ryder sobbed.
Ryder and my sister, Olivia, had especially come back to help me prepare for prom. According to Livvy, prom was the highlight of the years a person wastes in a place they hate. So it has to be grand.
“Why are you crying?” Liv frowned at Ryder.
“My baby girl grew up!” He cried out as he reached to hug me.
“Hey!” Livvy pulled him back. “You’re gonna make her dress all wrinkly!” She scolded him.
“Don’t worry, Ry. I felt that hug!” I told him when I saw the face he made at Liv.
“Me too, panda!” He said as he wrapped his arms around himself. I rolled my eyes at him.
“You really do look beautiful, Penny.” Aunt Athena smiled at me. “All of you girls do!” She grinned.
We were all waiting at my uncle’s house, where we all had decided to get ready for prom together, with Ellie’s mom, Livvy, Ryder and my aunt.
The boys were going to pick us up anytime now after getting ready at Xander’s house.
“Thank you!” We all giggled.
“Ryder, she wasn’t calling you beautiful.” Livvy told Ryder when he thanked Aunt Athena with us girls.
“Oh she did! After all, I am the prettiest!” Ryder smirked.
“You would have been the prom queen if you were in our school!” Ellie told him to which he pretended as if he was flipping his hair back, making us all laugh.
“Who do you think will be the prom queen though?” Liv asked.
Ellie, Sarah and I looked at each other with secretive smirks on our faces.
“What did you guys do?” Kara asked in a cautious tone.
“It was a project you wouldn’t have wanted to be a part of, Kara-bear.” Sarah told her comfortingly.
Well, that wasn’t a lie…
Sarah was learning the art of tactfully avoiding a question from me!
“I believe you.” Kara sighed, shaking her head.
“Who’s gonna be prom king? Any ideas?” Ryder asked in excitement.
“You don’t wanna know!” Ellie, Sarah and I spoke up in unison. We laughed as we saw the shocked faces on everyone’s faces.
“The boys here! Come on, girls! Photos with your dates and then the whole group and then off you go!” Aunt Athena said as she opened the door for the boys.
“And the prom king is… What the…” The teacher announcing the name frowned as she looked at the card she had in her hand.
“What happened? Who is it?” Uncle K asked as he stepped out of the corner he was hiding in.
“Well… Sir…” The teacher tried to search for words which made Principal Hughes frown as he started walking to the stage.
“Did you do something, babe?” Damien whispered in my ear.
“I just spiced things up.” I told him with a mischievous grin.
“Penny!” Damien sighed.
“What! The girls and I wanted to make our prom one to remember!” I defended myself.
“Who is it?” My uncle asked the teacher as he climbed up the stage.
“It’s you, sir.” The teacher answered. “It says ’Principal Kaiden Hughes’.” She gulped nervously.
Gasps erupted from the audience as they all looked around.
I started clapping and Damien joined after a small eye roll with a huge smile. Soon, all the students started clapping.
“You rock, Principal Hughes!” Jason shouted, clapping his hands.
“Give him the crown!” Mason shouted.
Soon, all the students started chanting with Mason, demanding that the Principal receive his crown.
The teacher hurriedly placed the crown on Uncle K’s head before returning to her position near the mic, while Uncle K was still frozen in shock.
“The prom queen for this year is…” She tailed off as she opened the second envelope and took the paper out. She frowned as she read the name again. “Well, it’s a tie.” She said in a skeptical voice.
“Between who?” Someone yelled out.
“I think I already know…” Damien mumbled under his breath as he smirked at me.
“They deserve it.” I smirked back at him.
“Mason and Jason Carrington.” The teacher read the names.
The whole room was silent. Everyone was staring at the two boys who looked like they were frozen in ice.
“We won…” Mason whispered.
“We won…” Jason nodded his head at his brother.
“We won!” They both exclaimed as they hugged each other. They pulled away hurriedly, running up to the stage. They almost snatched the crown out of the teacher’s hand as they both held it up like a trophy while everyone cheered, clapped and whistled.
“It’s such an honour!” Mason said into the mic.
“I’m so happy! I rule!” Jason spoke up next.
“It’s time for the official prom king and queen dance!” I exclaimed, making everyone cheer a lot louder as the three people left on the stage froze up.
“Principal Hughes, if you would please…” Mason and Jason spoke up in unison, motioning to the dance floor.
Now this is what I call the perfect ending for an awesome journey…
Me: Thank you for this awesome journey, readers!
Penny: But unfortunately, the story has come to an end.
Mason: This journey was a fun one. And that’s all because of you people.
Me: But this last chapter, the epilogue of the story, is dedicated to all my amazing characters.
All the characters: Aww! Thanks!
Me: But this is not a goodbye. I’m not planning to write another story in this series anytime soon but I might write one later...
Mason: Yup, me and my clonie are still single.

Penny: You’re already moving on?
Me: I waited a whole of two weeks before moving on!
Mason: It still hurts.
Me: I will never forget you guys though.
Ellie: Aww, we won’t forget you either.
Me: That’s the thing. You can’t even if you tried. I created you. You are my babies.
Jason: And she is not ready to send us to college yet...
Me: Hey! You are still a little kid! I don’t wanna see your sass!
Jason: Well, since this is not a goodbye, I guess we’ll see you all later! Until then, stay safe!
