Beep beep! Beep beep! My alarm clock sang when it struck 7 am. I slapped the snooze button with my lazy, warm hand and groaned. Just two more days until the weekend Rose, I thought to encourage myself. I hauled my body up and slowly started to get myself ready for work. I picked a green short-sleeved t-shirt with my dark blue jeans and a pair of white converse. My long brown hair I tied into a neat braid after brushing it. Wonderful.
After that, I scurried downstairs trying not to wake my roommate Ellie who was snoring on the couch. She must have fallen asleep again from another party; she’s always out partying but she does work. I sighed at her and gently covered my friend, who was wearing a slightly ripped and wine-stained cocktail dress, in a purple woollen blanket then walked to the small, but modern, kitchen to make myself some breakfast. Toast with butter and nothing else. Plain as the blue sky was how I liked it. On a way, it reflected me. I didn’t want or expect something unexpected to happen to me. I sighed to myself while munching on my toast and seeing that it was 7:30 am, I grabbed my black winter coat and purse and opened the back door to brave the winter’s breeze and frost to get to work, at Benson’s book shop. See? Like I said before; nothing unexpected.
