1- Blood...
I saw blood... I saw so much blood! Trying to take in my surroundings in the dark, I glanced back over my shoulder in a panic, as I opened the door with all my might. “Someone... help...” I began to scream, but before I could, a massive hand covered my mouth and I was pulled deeper back into the room. I was thrown to the ground, right next to the dead man. In fear, I stared at the corpse, wishing beyond all hope that it wasn’t real.
There were several men present in the room, they all loomed over me. Based on the look of things, they obviously belonged to a gang. An icy shiver ran down my spine as I caught sight of a gun in a man’s hand, making my skin and lips pale. His deep voice comes out in a growl, “How the hell did she get in here? Wasn’t Todd supposed to be watching?“. As I stared into his cold and domineering face, gun in hand, I wondered if he was the killer. The only sound in the room was my heavy breathing, as no one around us dared to speak.
Since I was so scared of them, I stammered out, “Please... I...“. Slowly I began to back away from the man holding the gun. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize I was about to run into a dead body. Suddenly two strong arms wrap around my waist, pulling me towards the chest of a man as I lose my footing. Just in time, he had caught me. Swinging at the man holding me, I scream, “Let me go!“. To prevent me from escaping, the man tightened his grip on me.
" Guys, let’s get this cleaned up as soon as possible. Aideen, take care of the girl.” I hear the guy with the gun say, and I narrow my eyes at him.
His verbal response was, “Yes sir!” he said before pulling me backward through a door as he made his way out. There was a queen-sized bed inside the room but wait... Did he bring me to the bedroom? Now, what would he do to me? As I turn away from the bed in annoyance, he growls, “I need to decide what to do with you...” before pushing me towards the bed and causing me to stumble. I turn back to the man and glare at him, who did he think he was?
“How dare you, let me go!” I scream, lunging at the man, there was no way he was going to leave me in this position. My only option was to fight him and get away from him and his friends. In each hand, he gripped my wrists and slammed me against the wall. The guy releases one of my wrists and covers my mouth with his hand, “No... how dare you woman. I didn’t want to have to hurt you, but you put me in this position.” he says as he pulls out a needle from one of his pockets. The bottle had clear liquid inside, and I suddenly realized what he was going to do. I was going to be drugged... this couldn’t be happening to me!
‘Please don’t... I promise to behave... I’ll behave!’ I plead with him, knowing I would be knocked out if he truly drugged me. There was no way I wanted that... Immediately after the needle poked into my arm, I felt a wave of dizziness sweep over me. As I relaxed in his arms, I felt him bend down and pick me up, then throw me onto the bed. There was no stopping me from drifting off into the darkness...
The next day...
As I opened my eyes, I flinched from the soreness. Fear washed over me as I had no recollection of anything from the previous night. As I turned my head around, I saw a man’s face right next to mine. It made me want to jump out of bed, however, I quickly realized I couldn’t. OMG... who are you?” I scream at the man, and when his eyes flashed open, I suddenly remembered what had happened the night before. The man I was in bed with last night had murdered that poor man, I slept with a murderer!
“I see you’re up. Good morning!” he says with a low, hoarse voice.
Suddenly, memories flood my brain of the corpse on the floor and the gun in his hand. I was so scared of him, I didn’t know what to do. “I...” I start but stop when he raises his brow at me as he climbed out of the bed. After I realized I couldn’t move, I realized my hands were tied to the headboard. His charm and appeal dripped from his presence as he walked around the bed and leaned in closer to me.
“What’s wrong with you, Luna?”
“How... how do you know my name?” I asked. I wanted to back away from him as he frightened me on many levels, and I felt so uncomfortable being so close to him.
A smile radiated from his face as he smirked at me. “How do you think I know your name?” he asked, evil radiating from him. The rope was so tightly tied, I couldn’t break free... This man just stared at me, as if he enjoyed seeing me struggle against the rope. I knew this man wasn’t harmless, I knew that he could kill me in the blink of his eye if he chose to. In my mind, this man was capable of doing a lot of dangerous and lethal things, and so I decided it was best to see what he had planned for me. His eyes darken as they slide down my body, and I wanted to scream at him and beg him to stop looking at me like that.
“Let me go... please! I will not tell anyone what I saw!” I pleaded with him and heard him chuckle softly as he stood up.
“I am afraid I cannot do that, but let’s have breakfast and discuss my plans for you. If I untie you, I expect a promise of good behavior.” he carefully examines me.
I roll my eyes, not caring what he thinks of it. “I will behave,” I tell him, wondering what he has planned for me. I have been wondering how my father is doing now that he is a married man again. Twenty minutes before walking in that door, I was one of my stepmother’s bridesmaids.
My hands are carefully untied from the headboard by him, and I watch him carefully. Once he stepped back, I slowly sat up in bed rubbing my wrists where the ropes had made contact with my skin. It scared me to move too fast because he might think that I was trying to escape and hurt me.
“What are you going to do with me?” I ask him, nervous he would not let me leave. In order to stay safe, I had to get out of there and away from him as soon as possible. I was following my stepmother’s instructions last night when I walked into the wrong room and witnessed a murder.
“My dear, that depends on you. Tell me what you saw last night. Would you tell somebody about what you saw?”
“I didn’t really see anything, not enough to tell anyone about it... I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean to walk into the wrong room. It was my stepmom’s idea to meet some man last night, and I really did not understand completely why.” I respond honestly, and he narrows his eyes as he looks at me. In a way, it felt as if he was evaluating me to determine whether I was lying to him.
“What was the name of the person you were going to meet?” he asks, sitting down on the edge of the bed. I became even more nervous as he got closer to me.
“No, she didn’t give me a name. Just the room number. Never mentioned why I was meeting with him, just told me that I had to.” I respond.
Smiling, he leans closer to me. “Then how can you be so sure that I am not the guy you were supposed to meet?” He questions, “Maybe you walked into the right room last night, perhaps it was destiny.” He pauses and I look into his eyes. As I watched him lean in some more, his mouth barely above mine, a shiver ran down my spine, making me shake in fear, no... my stepmom would not want me to meet with a murderer, right?
“What are you doing?” I ask trying to push him away. This man has proven to me that he is very dangerous, and I am not going to trust him anymore.
It didn’t take long for his smile to turn deadly. “I won’t do anything you won’t like in the end, trust me,” he said, meeting his mouth with mine. I pushed him away from me immediately, shoving him away.
“No! Get away from me!” I screamed, jumping off the bed and fleeing the insane man. As soon as I opened his door, I glanced both ways down the hall to determine which route would be most effective. It looked like I was still in the hotel. That’s helpful because that meant that I could probably find my way to my father’s room and get away from this man easily. I took off running down the hallway in the direction I believed was where my father’s room was. However, I heard his rushed steps pounding behind me as he ran after me.
